Trees is a great room for live music. Solid high stage made for good sightlines anywhere in the room. The lighting and sound quality were fantastic. Bar service was quick and capable. The smoking area is well maintained with security. They had a super cool VIP viewing area and the balcony was a solid spot. Huge thing for a southern venue was the air conditioning was in place and flowing through the show.
They charge bands to park their load out vehicles but I love this club.
One of the best venues I have ever performed at. Amazing sound, the place has tons of history.
I really dig this venue. From the outside you dont get a sense of the space within. Its not a huge place, but any show Ive ever been to, it never has the feeling of being too overcrowded. Theres also a balcony area though Ive never been. Full bar, clean bathrooms (during the week at least), and a great stage.
Small venue worth lots of history, interesting people, drink prices extremely reasonable, ticket prices equally reasonable. If theres a show you are interested in at this venue I definitely recommend going. Just make sure you plan your ride to Deep Ellum or get your parking situation planned out ahead of time!
Trees is a lot of fun. My only point of contention is there was no ramp to exit the venue for those of us with mobility issues. I stayed a little longer than expected and the venue routed me out the side door. It was challenging to lift my walker up and out while holding the heavy door. Its a great venue though and the band tonight, British Lion, was fantastic!
Pretty cool venue in a neat part of town. Lots of restaurants you can visit while you wait for your show to start. The venue itself was large, no angle was terrible, and the sound was really good. Id highly recommend attending shows here!
Very good place and the Owners are awesome I recommend this place
Bartender was rude but he made excellent drinks
Love the aesthetics of the venue. People have issues with the tree beams, but I don’t mind them. I would note that there have been some audio issues from several shows I’ve attended. Not sure if it’s equipment or the person manning it causing these issues.
Everyone working the Kossisko and Terror Jr. show last night was awesome. From the moment I walked in, to the second I left I felt valued. The show was great, and the sound was on point, and everything went so perfectly, and I thoroughly enjoyed every interaction I had with the staff. I didn’t know a show could be that much fun and I could attend alone but not feel out of place.Thank you so so much for making that happen. I’ll be back as many times as humanly possible.
Had a fantastic time at the concert! Met some amazing people. Atmosphere was good vibes all around.
Everybody loves Trees. Ive seen so many iconic bands here its nuts to think back on. Recently attended L7 and it was bonkers. My pics arent the best but my memories are. Wish there were more spots to sit or they would open up the top more often, but thats all them. I will be honest, the drinks arent the cheapest and water isnt free. Its an important place to Dallas and my heart and the hearts of my friends and many of my family, so thanks Trees, youre the best!
Great time. Sound and lighting was good. I noticed people constantly picking up trash, so they try hard to keep it clean. A coke was $3 bucks... also the reason for 4 stars is that at the end of the concert, the set up for purchasing mercy was not good. We waited in line for 10 min then they came and told us to go to a different longer line. We just skipped out on purchasing anything because of this. A little tip to you and a note to myself, purchase during the show not after. Also happy that parking was $5.
This place would be a half decent place if the bouncer didnt have a complex and the ticket girl actually wanted to do her job. Ive been to shows in peoples basements that were better run. Ill skip this place from now on.
Awesome venue, great service, cute bar area. Would really go again next time Im in Dallas or someone I know is playing. Really awesome for a smaller kind of venue.
Intimate venue. Bartenders friendly & fast. Place is clean & personable. Will always come back.
Had a great time seeing Jelly Roll. Intimate venue. Pretty packed though due to a sold out show. Would definitely return.
Had the best time seeing Denzel Curry and Tyler Sloan and Whyte Noyze
Great shows drinks are a little overpriced and its the little cramped! Always come out to see local bands and ways have a great time here! If you are in the DfW area Trees is a staple in Deep Ellum!
Great location and great bar!The venue has multiple points of view for short people such as myself. The acoustics were nice and I loved the access of bars on the bottom and top levels!
Great venue with personal feel. No metal detectors or other unnecessary burdens. They rent the parking in the back so you do have to pay ($5) but thats fine for Deep Ellum. The main complaint I have are the thick beams on stage that have a pretty big impact on your view from the sides.
An excellent venue with a wide and diverse range of artists. The space is small and intimate, so if a band you love is there, you are guaranteed to have an amazing experience!
Security was awful. The singer almost got pulled into the crowd, they did a fake out getting peoples hopes up that wed see her go in at least, and then they blamed the group that helped keep her up as the reason why we wouldnt see her after the show.Im not a fan of leaving negative reviews but I genuinely feel if you can see your artist anywhere else you should!
Ive been coming to Trees for 20 years basically. Great venue to see a concert. Great staff and/or staph (then and now) if youre old school enough!
Lovely staff, wonderful venue, Taylor is such a sweetie pie.
Great venue! Awesome staff and very polite. It was first time there. I was there to photograph an artists set for a concert. The vibe was right. Parking was aggravating, but thats to be expected in that area. Definitely not a deal breaker tho.
Just so you know, folks who have complained about the bouncers/security in previous reviews are completely right. They are extremely abusive and will kick you out on a whim. Similar to a bouncer at an LA nightclub where if you dont have a drink in your hand or fit into the look of the show, youre out.
Intimate venue to see and hear your favorite artists with high quality sound and lights. Poppy was especially awesome
I was so impressed!! As someone that has been in clubs from NY/NJ/CT/TN for years this is a venue that should be relished by the fans and bands alike. From the outside you have no idea what a beautiful venue awaits you. The stage is nicely elevated and is set so that all locations from the floor or from the spacious balcony have great site lines. I suspect some bands might find it a little small. The open floor expands as it moves away from the stage towards a large bar. Stairways on both sides of the bar lead to the balcony with high tops overlooking the floor and providing great views of the stage. Couches, along with another bar and bathrooms are on this level. But why do you come here, for great music and the sound in this venue was spectacular. Great separation allows the vocals and instruments to be heard, be good and loud, but not distorted beyond recognition. If you see a band playing here you like GO, you will not be disappointed. Staff seemed very friendly and professional.
We didnt set out Monday evening to be denigrated, verbally accosted and robbed of the chance to see a concert of one of our favorite bands along with the value of our tickets, but if thats what youre into, Trees is the place to be!We purchased four tickets presale many months before for AJJs first show in Dallas in over two years. As we were approaching the entrance, a couple of would be concertgoers were in a shouting match with the bouncers at the door because they were denied entry. We thought that there must have been some legitimate reason for them being turned away at the door, but as soon as we got to the entrance and showed them our tickets, they told us we wouldnt be allowed to enter. Weve never been denied entry to a concert (or any establishment for that matter), so we were all quite surprised and confused as to why they wouldnt let us in. When we asked why, they just said that they can deny entry to anyone for any reason and that there was no way we would be allowed in to see the show.Absent any reason whatsoever for their decision, we asked for a refund for our tickets. Then they changed their story and claimed that they were certain that someone in our group was intoxicated, which was certainly not the case. So, we asked that a police officer perform sobriety tests to prove that none of us were intoxicated, which we thought to be a reasonable way to demonstrate unequivocally that we were not intoxicated. The bouncers refused and told us it wouldnt matter what the officer determined because they already made their decision to refuse entry and that their decision was final.Since it was abundantly clear at that point that they werent going to let us in for any reason, as their fragile egos seemingly required such boorish intransigence to remain intact, we again demanded a refund for our tickets, at which point they became quite hostile and verbally abusive. At that point, we fully understood why there was a shouting match going on with the bouncers when we arrived.
As always mushroom head put on a great show!!!!
Nice place with a full bar and decent acoustics. Its small enough to get right up front if you want. The bathrooms were also acceptable, so that was a plus.
Love this venue! The trees theme is well executed, with tall plastic trees from floor to ceiling, and forest-y vibe. Would see another concert here any day.
This venue is small enough that you feel you are a part of the action, but large enough for room around the bar area. Restrooms were clean when I was there.
Geat sound. Good atmosphere. One of the best places to see a show. Friendly staff
Great concert venue. My only negative is the parking for the venue does not accept cards and the Trees parking attendant refused to give change for the 1 bill I had. I had to leave go buy anything get change and come back to pay cash.
I love this place. Great drinks and music is always great. Non smoking inside and section outside is nice too. Clean. But it was cold as a mf when i went.
Went to a concert and had a blast. Standing room only on floor level with table and chairs on upper level. Two large bars. Restrooms upstairs. Staff very nice.
Intimate venue that always feels nice and cool, no matter what the season. Friendly staff, speedy bartenders and competitive drink prices, Love the two-tier layout -- each level offers a very different experience. The parking nearby is reasonable and sufficient. This has become one of my favorite venues. Its clearly well managed and books some very worthwhile acts.
Trees is a Deep Ellum staple! The venue is cozy and intimate which means no matter where you are its the best seat in the house. Deep Ellum to me was always the grunge scene of Dallas. It still has that feel but there will definitely be people from all walks of life down there.
Venue is a good size, fast service, really enjoyed the snow the product concert!
Been going here for decades. Love this venue and the shows they book.
Loved this venue when I went to see SIAMES, its right in Dallass downtown next to a variety of quick grubs!
Great clean location with a huge range of concerts! Drink prices were average for a venue, but the red bull was a much as a beer. People were friendly, venue was clean and the music was loud!
Amazing venue with a solid collection of performers, a solid bar, friendly staff, and a unique ambience.
Fabulous Venue! Awesome staff, Up Close and Personal with the Artists, Super Nice Owner, Great Bar- Absolutely Perfect Night!! My daughter and I love going to concerts together- she goes in the mosh pit and I find a chair- we both LOVE this place
Great sounding venue for rock/metal concerts. Saw Red and Demon Hunter this year. Fun shows and cleaner bathrooms than a lot of venues.
Jelly Roll was awesome!!
I’ve seen a lot of good shows here. Security at this venue is famously known for being rude and lacking in professionalism. That’s pretty much the only thing that blows about this spot; the grumpy security. Sound is okay for the most part.
Big enough for a good sized crowd but small enough to feel like youre sharing the space with the performers. Brings back some great memories.
I came here for the Harry Potter event that they had! It was an awesome time! I really enjoyed the bartenders as they were all friendly, and super on top of things. I will Definitely be stopping by Trees next time I am in downtown Dallas for a Saturday night!
Great sound system. Went to see evenmarks reunion show.
The guy with red hair that works the front door is a heavy handed monster! My daughter has no problem following the rules and as her mother, I have no problem following rules either. As a manager of people for many years, I have been the one who has had to make up the rules and set parameters for dealing with not only employees but the public as well… As I, four of her friends, her grandmother, Her aunt and close friends and family standing in front of the stage looked on, we were horrified when some overzealous power-hungry bully came out of nowhere . This guy grabbed my daughter from behind and just about scared the life out of her! He then proceeded to manhandle her out the side door through the patio! I did not understand what was happening as he screamed something about how he saw her drink alcohol! To me this was absurd and ridiculous! She was NOT drinking!!! They took her outside and surrounded by every bouncer they had in the place she was made to feel like a criminal and she was forced to miss the entire show. Her friends didn’t see it either because they left the venue and went outside to stand with their friend. After trying to reason with the unreasonable door guy who decided to target my daughter he then proceeded To threaten me with being thrown out also! All I know is that someone with a personality such as his made up of delusions of grandeur and a bully mentality should never be put in a position of power or management or be in anyway working in close proximity of the public . Something should really be done about him… As a suggestion to the club, if they see adults walk in with people that are under age it would be nice if they would bring to their attention The fact that even if there is no alcohol in a clear plastic cup, if they put their mouth on Said cup at all, They will promptly be remove by forceIn response_ Thats my whole point SHE WAS NOT DRINKING! He should have listened to what I was trying to tell him instead of threatening me
Glen the door guy is extremely rude and disrespectful. Ive been here before and had a good time. But after this experience, definitely never coming back here because of him. I get that being a door guy you have to be intimidating and cautious of who you let in, but this guy is so rude its unacceptable. He took advantage of his power and role and put me in a really unnecessary situation that was uncalled for. Definitely never coming back here again. And definitely telling all my friends not to either.
Love this joint. Friendly staff. Frigid cold AC which is necessary when jumping up and getting down. The bar staff was great and the music was loud. Great times to be had at Trees.
We went to see 10 years. I was impressed with the sound quality of the venue. Very little feedback and vocals were crystal clear. The atmosphere was really nice. There are two levels, balconies to enjoy the show, each floor had a bathroom which I can appreciate. If theres another band to see here that peaks my interest, well definitely be back.
Best venue for bands like Dorothy & Electric Guest.
Very cool venue. Attended the Devotchka show with Neyla Pekarek opening. It was a great show and my first time hearing both artists. The second floor balcony VIP area is pretty cozy and nice for private VIP sessions.
I attended my first event at Trees tonight and can say with confidence that I will not be back. An individual sitting in front of me became intoxicated and had started acting very inappropriately. After over an hour of just letting it go I had reached my limit and notified a staff member. While this individual should have been thrown out after they failed to control their alcohol intake and created a disturbance within the crowd, the staff member decided that a meaningless warning would suffice. If I am going to pay to attend an event, I would like to have the ability to enjoy that event without a disturbance or at least feel confident that the staff would be capable of addressing it with the appropriate action.
Had a great time seeing Raspody the energy was AMAZING!
Small but intimate music venue. One of my favorite music venues in Dallas.
Good sound and a good bar. Definitely enjoyed Demon Hunter.
This place is cramped in all the wrong ways. (This is coming from someone who grew up going to shows in basements and sheds). Im surprised its as iconic as it actually is. Awkward positioning of the stage, terrible bottle necking at the merch table and poles literally in the middle of the floor. With all that being said, they have amazing shows. Also, the sound is shockingly good.
Overall I like this venue. Good layout. Attentive bar keeps. Definitely LOUD. Not sure whats up with the sound system. I am not impaired & I honestly struggled to understand lyrics for both bands-and I knew the songs!
The best seating in the place is upstairs and is rarely available. Instead for a $16.50 cover charge, patrons are crowded onto a dance floor with only limited seating available. If you a looking for an enjoyable experience, try another venue!
Venue is stylish, sound systems are excellent. Overall atmosphere is top notch. One of the coolest venues in Dallas.
Awesome my daughter band played there the Roommates.
Great venue for an up close and personal feel, plus the bar service is quick and top notch.
It was awesome. Seen jelly rollAnd he did his thang
Awesome! Saw H.E.R. and I was VERY excited and lucky to have gone and seen her.
My favorite venue.
Trees ! Love this venue. Soooooo many great memories.
I got too drunk too quick but what I can remember was the staff was really nice! U dont find that anymore especially in bars
Great time tonight seeing Stiff Little Fingers!
Nice large place for music shows. More sitting options might be nice.
Great venue! Sound and lighting was perfect, A/C was on full blast, and bar service was prompt. Highly recommend!
Clean sound, great touring and local bands. Well rounded venue. Glad its back!
Great venue! The staff is really friendly for the most part. The sound system is AMAZING, and the energy is always great! Definitely dont miss an opportunity to see your favorite artist or band here!
Saw Electric Guest, the band sounded great and the atmosphere was wonderful
Had a blast with The HU Band
Trees is one of my favorite music venues that supports new and local talent. Have even seen some great international musicians here. Last band was Joy Formidable an amazing show.
Venue is really clean, lots of room and friendly staff. Looking at their schedule there is always some great group to check out. I am looking forward to more great concerts here! Highly recommend you going and checking them out.
Awesome place overall. Went to go see eyedress and inner wave here which is not something many people can say they get to experience. Also shout-out to my Uber driver. Not to mention the vibes and atmosphere were on point. Passed the vibe check with flying colors.
Great Venue that books some of the best acts to come through Dallas...
My husband and I loved the venue! We’re new to Dallas so this was our first time. Concerts in small venues is life changing though. The staff at Trees were all very professional and nice. Thank you Howard for making it happen for us to have such great reserved seating on a last minute basis. The experience was awesome! We are looking forward to more shows at Trees so we can return. Checking this place out is a must if you haven’t been.
They hosted Eric Nams Concert, and it was amazing. They do need better air conditioning. A girl fainted during the concert. It was really hot and humid. Compared to other venues you guys are lacking in that VERY important detail. Air conditioning.
This is a historic venue in downtown Dallas. It is a great rock bar with not too expensive drinks, friendly bar staff and not too dirty restrooms. Definitely worth catching a band here.
