Met my wife here 5 stars. Oh on second thought take my wife please 5 stars still. Need live theater. Miss it terribly.
The staff is outstanding. They are helpful and friendly! I ordered the tickets on the phone and picked up at will call. Be sure to have the email confirmation with you. For some reason they put down the wrong first name but fortunately I had the order number on my email. The venue is beautiful. Balcony seats were a bit tight but had good views.
Just a classic venue for live performances, unless Im mistaken this is the largest theater district in America outside of Broadway in New York City. A wonderful asset for the city and the region. I was there on date night for a Joe Bonamasa concert and had a blast! I highly recommend Playhouse Square for consideration for your entertainment dollars.
The plays here are fantastic. The venue is beautiful and has great site lines from nearly any seat. I highly recommend!
Saw Anastasia. Great show. Not for young children. Would have been 5 stars but I felt a little like a sardine.
Elegantly designed from the extravagant 1920. Enjoy plays, opera and musical. Cleveland has really revamped the thether district, so come and support the arts and do a show!
Got to see the music of Billy Joel and Elton John! An absolutely stunning show that had me smiling through the whole night. A gorgeous venue and a perfect spot for a great evening. I look forward to coming back to Cleveland for future shows!
Very, very BEAUTIFUL place. From the chandelier outside to the architectural design inside. For a newcomer inside that building.... it was difficult to actually find where we were heading. It literally took asking 4 members of staff to locate the show we where there to see. The show was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME !!!! Marlee who take TWO OUTSTANDING SHOW !!!!The reason for only a 4 star is because it was so difficult to find our show and to figure out where we go when we left.
Can you really say anything other than nice words about Playhouse Square? The place is very unique. It is an asset and an institution in the city of Cleveland. Many friends from out of town are envious of the facilities and they live in larger metropolitan areas. The shows are varied. Weve seen musicals and comedians alike on their various stages. The staff works to get you in and out quickly, which is appreciated for the most part. And on top of that, the place is beautiful! While I wish the seats were a little bigger, thats my fault for being fat, but is fair warning none the less to the larger folks out there. I always try to get a seat at the end of a row so Im only potentially spilling over into my wifes space as opposed to a complete strangers too.
A production at Playhouse is ALWAYS worth the trip. The sets are always stellar, cast impressive, and ambiance intoxicating. Put simply, its just special. Whether its a Tuesday evening show or opening night, youll not be disappointed. Treat yourself and a loved one to a fun evening at Playhouse Square at the show of your choosing. Cant go wrong in my book!
Lovely atmosphere. Kind ushers and talented actors. Roomy seating in most theatres and well lit walkways. Handicap restrooms available.
Always love coming to the shows down here! I hope they get the construction across the street done soon so the parking is better. But all in all, never a bad time here. Highly recommend.
Fantastic venue! Better than NYC because of easy entrance and exit. Buy the attached parking garage On-line with the tickets and you wont have to hunt parking or walk the street. Safe and Secure. Love the Red Coats, they are most polite and helpful And add to the experience!
The best 90s Concert
This theatre is beautiful. We saw Joe Bonamasa in concert and the house was packed. Well managed. The seating where we were was cramped, however. We sat in the balcony. Drinks were very pricey. But the theatre staff were excellent. We talked to a lovely woman who was working the seating. It was very easy to get out at the conclusion. Warning: if you have a professional looking camera you will be asked to leave it with security. Cell phones were allowed, just no flash. We will be back.
Beautiful theatre. Absolutely gorgeous. Saw the lion king here on the balcony and it was amazing. The staff was also so helpful. I had no clue where my seat was and they took you right to it. Bathrooms were kept clean and there was no wait. Recommend 100%.
Old cool building...seating needs updating a bit leg room is non existent...seats were comfortable though and you could probably see great from any where....we saw white Christmas it was good. We paid 20.00 to park and had to walk a bit but not unbearable.the building was built in 1920 and the interior is fantastic!
Love love love going to the playhouse for the shows. Never have a problem with parking. Only complaint is seating is tight but we are bigger people than before when the playhouse was built. If u never been grab a ticket and see a show or two.
Another great production at low cost with my season ticket subscription. Great performances in A Bronx Tale today!
Went to see Yanni and it was Awesome! Playhouse Square is an experience in itself! You have to see it to understand! Beautiful. I believe there are six theaters within the beautiful artistic atmosphere. Always a wonderful experience; no matter what performance you go to see. Top of the line Wonderful!!
I was a chaperone for my sons 4th grade field trip to see A Christmas Carol. The event was well-coordinated, from our arrival, our lunch, and our seating. Now, for the show. It was a very special treat. The players put on a spectacular performance! It was such a heartwarming show for the kids to see. The set dressings and sound effects were well-balanced; not too chintzy, and not too garish, but definitely enough to hold a childs interest. There was a bit of a snafu upon discharging our school, but nothing calamitous. Overall, it was a magnificent experience for kids and adults alike. A special thanks to our schools PTO for facilitating this trip!
While the lobbies are really a sight to see, the seats are a bit small. Its fun to get out and support live theater for a change. The temperature has been too hot and too cold the last two times, so its hard to endorse the viewing experience. The sound itself and stage visibility is good. I do wish the shows started closer to the time to encourage arriving a bit early rather than waiting several minutes and having a long period before an intermission or the end of the show.
Playhouse square is THE BEST! I volunteer here as a Redcoat and its the best volunteer position a person could have. I also go to see events with friends and family and Playhouse square never disappoints. I shall love this place forever and ever.
Aside from the amazing plays, shows and activities that are provided by the Playhouse being awesome - the building is too! Whether you are a little kid walking into the main plaza and seeing the winding steps to the vaulted ceilings or an adult, you cant help but be amazed by the beauty of the place. I have always admired the detail that went into the architecture of Placehouse and Everytime I visit I feel as if I am able to appreciate something new. The ticket prices are fair, the food and drink options work well for everyone and they always provide great service. If youre looking for a night out, a girls weekend or a fun evening - youre guaranteed to have a great time!
Beautiful setup Great sound helpful staff great place to see a concert play or show The Musical Box
This was my first experience at Playhouse Square, but it wont be my last! The event parking closest to our theater was in the $10-$20 range. We loved the proximity of restaurants to the theater, too. The art deco buildings are beautiful!
I have gone to many theaters, and this one is by far the best. It has a bunch of seats, a top section and a bottom section, a big stage, and the area around it is amazing. I would totally recommend seeing a show here. You will be amazed.
Beautiful collection of theatres. Do yourself a favor and go on the guided tour they offer. Youll be taken around all 11 venues and see the behind the scenes excitement. Then make sure to purchase a ticket to a show. Extremely well preserved theatres.
Very nice theatre. View from Balcony Right row W seats 710 and 711. The ladies running the bathroom organization were amazing and so nice. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly.
We had a behind the scenes tour of some of the theaters at Playhouse Square in downtown Cleveland on Monday. It cost us only $5 each and was fascinating! We actually stood on the stage at the Connor Palace!
An amazing show in a fantastic venue. Always crowded when shows are going on. Best parking is up toward CSU.
Beautiful district. Wonderful theater. Always a pleasure.
I love going here for shows. The atmosphere is beautiful. The volunteers / staff are helpful. Its stunning to see at night when all the marquees are lit up.
Great place beautiful structure of the building a lot of history came here for a concert had will call tickets pick up was easy for the tickets and you got right into the venue in less than five minutes
Had a great time and the sound was great. My only issue was and that is at all performances is the constantly standing person. Lucky they were off to the side of me. But the experience was great and will be back.
Ive been here a few times, most recently to see White Christmas. Beautiful architecture, friendly staff, and great performers. Every seat has a good view. Drunk lady in front of me kind of sucked. Never saw a middle aged woman try to mosh to a musical, definitely added some flare to the performance. Other than that, it was spot on.
An employee with dreadlocks, stole our sons phone off of the table today. We were in box seats, private area, Loge R2, seat 1 and 2. Managements excuse was, they are training new people. The bottom line is, the location of the phone is now at address 458/460 E146th in Cleveland. The thief turned the phone on for a minute. Thats where the thief lives. Of course, playhouse management dont care. The police cant do anything. Thanks for employing thieves.
I love attending performances at Playhouse Square, all of the theaters are beautiful! Lucia Micarelli was an amazing musician and was blessed to get to see her perform. Im looking forward to seeing many more shows here.
Jewel had wonderful customer service with great recommendation on seating and parking. She encourage me that going alone is not a bad thing. So Im doing a solo and I wont miss out
Ive been told that Playhouse Square is the largest theater area outside of New York City. The theaters are absolutely exquisite. We have a membership so we visit monthly. The theaters have been refurbished magnificently.
Love the Jersey Boys!! Weve seen them 7 times. Hope we dont have to wait another 4 years for them to come back.
Always a pleasure to visit this venue. The only downside is the parking, it was $30 last time.
Staff was very friendly, the building is gorgeous and the show was great!
Some of the most captivating architecture Ive ever seen. An absolutely beautiful place.
This place is one of the coolest and most beautiful places I have ever been. The shows they have here are second to none. The people working here are always friendly and helpful. We have seen many different shows here and have never had any bad experiences. We even had tickets just to stand in back of the theater and we still had a good view of the stage. If you love broadway but don’t want to travel to New York City, make this the spot you go to see that show. It’s closer, cheaper and just as much, if not more fun! There are many different places to eat around here too!
Gorgeous and always an amazing time. The shows are incredible and the neighborhood is a blast!
I was fortunate enough to see Flanagans Wake. Paid in advance for parking found a spot near the door. On entering the building we were directed to where we wanted to go. Staff very helpful and friendly. Access to main highways are close by.
This was apart of my grandsons 2 yrs old B-Day weekend!PAW PATROL LIVE had him a daze with all the bright and colorful performers! He actually sat still to watch the show! Along with dancing and clapping ENJOYED, ENJOYED!!!
Great venue for performances. Easy to access, plenty of parking nearby. Great acoustics for the singing, lighting was very well done. Definitely will go back for more.
It’s beautiful to walk around. If you are a theater fan this is for you; if you are not you can still enjoy the lights and decorations around. There’s nothing much to other than theater or dining options. Which they have more variety for tourists.
Finally we have a living, working theater destination that is easy to get to, and filled with people. The shows are suitable to all tastes. The area is beautiful, especially with the seating area just across the street, and the eateries near by. A dance band was playing the evening of the All-Star game, and people were actually dancing! What a thrill to see people in this city out together enjoying each other. The Archway Chandelier is a sculpture of national proportions, and worth coming to see again at night, when it is lit.
This is an amazing theater complex. They run some really great shows through here and the surrounding area is beautiful. The down side is there are not many food options near by.
The venue itself, the Connor theater, was beyond gorgeous. The staff were all very polite and friendly. The show we saw, Anastasia, was less than spectacular, but that was no fault of the venue itself.
What an amazingly gorgeous theatre! So much character in one building. I would see anyone preform here, just to be in this beautiful theatre again. GORGEOUS!Staff was super helpful (and abundant!), and with three different concession areas, there was hardly a wait for snacks. Bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. If you have a chance to visit this theatre DO IT!!!
A jewel in Clevelands crown. I have grown up around this space and its restoration and return to glory has been incredible. So greatful to have this Broadway touring destination nearby.
We went to see paw patrol live and had a great time. It was very nice and clean. The food prices were pretty high. Like worse than movie theater high other than that everything was great
Playhouse Square houses five opulent theaters with distinctive attributes and personalities and is the largest performing arts center in the United States outside of New York. Each theater is architecturally appointed for comfort and for alluring visual design. The theaters are grand in stature but state-of-the-art in terms of lighting and acoustics. They have all been designed to easily accommodate those with physical disabilities. The sound can be enhanced with wireless headsets that are provided free of charge. Many of the ushers are volunteers and all are gracious and extremely helpful. Playhouse Square’s 11 performance spaces include the Allen, Hanna, Helen Rosenfeld Bialosky Lab, Mimi Ohio, Outcalt, KeyBank State and Westfield Insurance Studio Theatres, as well as the Connor Palace, Kennedy’s Cabaret, Upper Allen and U.S. Bank Plaza.
The experience is always GREAT!!!! Highly suggest a night out here.. You will not be disappointed the experience no matter the show u will have a great time!!!! Find the time!!!
A must if you enjoy going to live theater.
Beautiful buildings inside and out. Exquisite shows and programs. Friendly all volunteer staff. A great night of afternoon on the town. It makes Cleveland Cleveland.
The theaters at Playhouse Square are as nice as NYC theaters on Broadway. The shows are always amazing and there are snacks and drinks available. There are shows offered for children and adults. I buy season tickets and the price is very reasonable and enables my husband and me to go on fun date nights.
It is frustrating dealing with Playhouse Square. It is a loose association of a number of theater companies. Nobody seems to know anything about anyone else. There is not a lot of professionalism among the staff. This place would fail in a larger market due to the cluelessness of how customer service is supposed to work. I am going to seek alternative theater experiences in the future.
Saw Jersey Boys. It was outstanding Saturday night. My sons friend played the role if Nick Massi and did a wonderful job. Very fun and impressive performance.
Went to see Phantom of the Opera recently. Great time. The seats could use an upgrade as one of the arm rest where I was seated was broken. The show was awesome and the ppl were very friendly and helpful
World class entertainment in gorgeous gilted theatres. I just saw Anastasia at the Conner Palace Theatre. It was excellent!
Picking up a client. Relatively easy access tonight. Considerably better than normal.
Really enjoy going to shows at the various theaters. Weve seen plays, musicals, stand up comedians, bands, and all of them have been great. Food and drinks are pretty overpriced though, and the seats in a couple of the theaters could be a little bigger. While thats mostly my problem, I can still complain about it.
Volunteer with the Redcoats for the first time it was a wonderful experience, staff awesome! When you walk in the theater leave all problems outside the door and enjoy the show! Jersey Boys was an outstanding show!
Absolutely stunning building, and the staff was excellent .
We are fortunate to have this amazing theater district! Go see something! Its an amazing resource that everyone should use!
Beautiful theater complex, restored and well maintained. Broadway series is a six to seven show commitment that gives you a discounted series of top Broadway productions throuought the calendar year offering you the same seats for each production. Parking is available in the attached garage and there are numerous food and drink establishments for pre and post show dining in the immediate area. 5 theaters on the complex offer a variety of shows in various sized theater settings. Recommended!
It is truly a beautiful place. It has numerous theatres within one big complex. They do need to consider getting better seating options, especially in the balcony area. I am not very tall and I didnt have enough room to stretch out my legs! I found myself wishing the performance to hurry and end because the seats were so uncomfortable!
Went on a free tour- it was fantastic
Beautiful Theatre. Take the tour! Very interesting!
Received tickets to the Illusionists for Christmas. One of the best presents I have ever recieved. Both the performance and the venue were outstanding!
We saw Distant Worlds here when we went. Beautiful architecture, not a bad seat in the house!
Playhouse Square is a work of art. The building itself is a treasure. Its been a few years since Ive been there, and the Playhouse has only improved. The docents are all so very personable, and just lovely people. They didnt mind answering my endless questions, they were most helpful, genuinely kind and sweet. I also had a lovely conversation with a gentleman from the jewelry store. Everyone was so very nice.I cant wait to go back.
Love every theater. The sound is good the architect is lovely. Just wish the seats were different. They are so small and cramped together. I understand they want to fit as many people as possible for money. However, I would like to be comfortable and not leave with with my hips hurting and a giant bruise on my lag from the arm rest.
I love all the great performances that the Theater holds.
In my opinion Playhouse Square is the most lively part of downtown. Always something to do. Plenty of restaurants too. My office is moving elsewhere downtown and I will miss this neighborhood.
Playhouse Square is the Crown Jewel of Cleveland. It is the second largest theater district in America. A wide variety of entertainment is offered throughout the year and I would recommend it most highly!!
The seats are to close together. If you tall you have no room, for your legs and knees. Dont be over weight
Went to see the Donna Summer show. It was great. The parking was good . We were able to walk over the covered crosswalk to the event.
Largest theater district in the US outside New York. Amazing. Enough said.
The show and headliner were great. Seems like the sound mixer was struggling a bit though. We had several moments of feedback as well as persistent volume issues.
Nice first time visit. Staff friendly and helpful. Dont forget your wallet the extras are going to cost ya
Great live theater, concerts and shows in beautifully restored vintage theaters. Unique to Cleveland with the variety usually offered. There are also wonderful restaurants within easy walking distance to the theaters. I love to go to Playhouse Square to see shows. We have great seats in the mezzanine on an aisle. The excitement around the performances are contagious. The theatres in CLE are better than some of the ones in NYC.
Playhouse square offers great shows and a plethora of trendy and delicious restaurants and bars. I purchase Broadway series season passes every year and look forward to a great night out every month!
We love coming to Playhouse! All of the volunteers are so kind and eager to help, and which makes the amazing shows even more fun. Cant wait to come back!
We love it every time we visit there. The workers are very nice and make your experience vet enjoyable. When I bought my wife a gift they let me know of discounts.
A beautiful theatre district! Plenty of parking and eateries nearby.
I love Playhouse Square! I always have so much fun here, and the shows are always so fun and impactful. So far, Come From Away has been one of my favorites. I would highly recommend it!!!
Its still a great place especially from the last time I was there which I was a kid in the early 90s. This establishment has always been eventful and has great shows overall depending on whats going on etc.
We love the Childrens Theater shows!! So much fun and perfect for littles.
Jersey boys was awesome. I wish the seats were bigger. My knees hurt.
