I love wiggly field, even when we didnt have a dog, we would stop and watch the dogs play. Its not great if you have a smaller senior dog who needs a slower introduction, but if you have a doodle that has lots of energy and is ready to run with some rowdy dogs, he/she will wear themselves out here. People are generally watchful of their dogs. Please pick up after your dog, keep wiggly field fun for all the pups!
We have been bringing our pup here for two years. She is technically a water dog, but practically not amazing at swimming. Its been great popping over at least once a month to get a bunch of energy I up and have her swim a bit. The best part is afterwards when she gets zoomies and we throw the ball with her in the play area.
Its on the list of top IL hikes for sure -- youll finally get to see all those instagram models pose of their pictures, big groups, couples, everything. The initial part of the hike is very steep but then it eases up. Another plus - a lot of yummy brunch places nearby, such as The Griddle (if you want to eat all the calories you may have just burned).
Fun park and usually dogs there. Theres also a zoned off area in case you and your dog need to use it solo at any point. (Timeout, or play with a new toy)
I like how it’s completely fenced in with two entrances, both with double doors. I wish there was some sort of landscaping aside from just trees cause there’s a smell from all the urine and the concrete everywhere. It’s a good size but it can be a little overwhelming for dogs since there’s only one area to separate the dogs.
Free dog park, best kind of park. Friendly people and well trained dogs. Definitely recommend it. Pool and water stations available as well. I would say this is about a medium size location.
Amazing hiking trails for for all levels of athleticism. Just take it at tour own pace as its not your usual walk in the park.
This is a great little park for your fur baby to make furry friends!
In general, Wiggly is a very nice park. The owners are pretty attentive, there are ALWAYS dogs there, and parking is ample. The only real downside is that it’s not very sanitary. The park is asphalt and gravel pits. So under the best of circumstances (sunny and dry), it’s dirty. Under even remotely wet conditions the gravel doesn’t fully drain which means your pup will be stepping in urine and feces. My dog has gotten giardia four times from this park. The park is maintained by volunteers, and they work very hard to keep it nice. But this park needs a little love to make it a safer, healthier place for dogs.
Love this place but the train scares my doggo sometimes
One of the best dog parks in the area!! So many dogs and the theres not much dirt so theyre not rolling around in mud and getting dirty. During the summer, they have a hose available for water for the dogs.
Dont remember being there
I love this dog park. It is a large space and it is a popular park in an already dog friendly neighborhood. Your dog will find lots of friends to play with and you have the opportunity to meet other like minded dog loving people. There is a separate area you can cordon off shy or young dogs so they can acclimate to the main area. Whoever designed this placed kept the dog in mind.
Nice place early morning
It was so nice to see so many dogs, claying around running jumping into the pool. Its nice to know that you can bring your dog and would not be hurt by the other dogs. I remember when the dog park used to be a playground. I lived across the street from there and my kids used to play in the playground. Really nice to see people interacting with other people and the dogs.
Amazing dog park located in the middle of Lincoln Park / Lake View. We visit here every weekend and never had a bad experience. Plenty of room for the dogs to run and they even have a separate play area for dogs who need a little separation before joining the bigger group, great for getting dogs acclimated with other dogs.Only suggestion would to add some green-space (100% concrete/gravel) or a water area outside of the one water hose.
Its a dog park full of dogs and owners who spoil said dogs. Whats not to love? The park is located conveniently near the L. Unfortunately, because of its location, the park can get pretty loud when the L rumbles by. It doesnt stop the dogs from running around though! There are lots of tennis balls around. There are also water fountains and poop bags. Benches are readily available for tired pet parents. A time out are is provided should your dog need it. There are trees that provide canopy against the sun. Street parking is convenient, though you might have to park a block away during peak hours. The park is surprisingly clean, and I guess we have the pet owners to thank. Everyone cleans up after their dogs as best as they could. Its a really good park, and my dog loves it! Occasionally, one finds a tired human visiting the dog park to get some loves and kisses, even if they have no dogs. Its great therapy!
Good dog park with lots of space. There is a separate fenced area to give your dog a timeout if needed. It is very noisy with the train going by every few minutes. Lots of water in a big tub is sure to get your dog dirty. Also, no grass.
The El is noisy at times. When I was there mid afternoon there were mostly medium-large dogs. Most were friendly. My small dog loves big dogs but when the dogs play they tend to run with the larger dogs and my small dog wasnt a participant because of the 10-15 dogs playing with each other. Honestly I would have preferred more small dogs, they can run and play together. The small dog area was way to small (maybe 20 x 15 ?) IMO. I know space is at a premium but there has to be an option for dogs say under 20 lbs. Parking was reasonable and close, I think I had to walk a 1/2 block to get to the park. The park was clean and well kept.
Always a good crowd of responsible doggos and their people. Community effort in keeping things clean, always an extra poo bag available when you need it, lots of ear scratches. 4 paws up!- Ted & Rocky
This dog park is great! It’s mostly cement which means it’s good to visit even when it has recently rained. There’s a large area to run around in and event a time-out area for less friendly dogs or dogs that just need a break from the crowds. Most of the owners that come here are very attentive of their dogs too.
Ok for big dogs, but I was really disappointed to see the area that people say is for small dogs? It’s labeled a time out zone? If there was another area for the small dogs, it wasn’t visible or someone had the gate open. The area that my small dog was in was literally all just pebbles. I wanted to let him run around but he wasn’t very interested in standing in a bunch of rocks. Big disappointment.
Theres a really nice guy there who sweeps up the loose rocks and puts it back into the enclosure. It seems like the people who go there really have a mindset of taking care of the place and it shows.
There were about 20 dogs and my little Piper had a blast! The other dog parents were nice. My only complaint: a few of the owners needed to get their phones out of their faces and pay more attention to their dogs. It seems like people clean up after their pup. The park had extra poop bags, water bowls, a bunch of tennis balls and plenty of trash cans. There was even a smaller, seperately fenced off play area for training, small or nervous dogs. Well definately be back.
Convenient dog park with good community of regulars. They keep an eye on their dogs and expect you to do the same. There is a separate area for small dogs or training, poop bags and water supply in the summer.Occasionally noisy as its right next to the El tracks.
Nice dog park with 2 little dog pools and a pretty big area. Unfortunately located underneath the red line, which is extremely loud when trains pass through. My dog hates it and always wants to leave because of that reason.
Nice, clean, well mannered local dog park. Other owners were hospitable and friendly. All dog were well mannered.
Fun place for your dog to run & play!
Go Cubs! And dogs! White Sox, too! World needs more peace, right?
My girlfriend and I always take our dogs there. Its fenced off and there are two gates to open before getting into the fenced play area. Its near a train line so some dogs bark at passing trains, but for the most part its relatively good for socializing dogs. There are poop bags and a water fountain for dogs to drink. The people and their dogs vary, but for the most part theres a general consensus that humping and growling are things everyone tries to jump in and prevent. No one wants a dog fight.
The upkeep and design totally ruin what could be a great park. Asphalt hurts your dog’s feet and the whole area is very poorly maintained. Rusty nails are sticking out of all the gravel pit barriers.
Great little park, with separate time out and training area.
Very nice dog park with plenty of space for dogs to stretch out and run. Plenty of benches for humans to hang out on.
Pros: Great, large space for dogs to run around in. One of the bigger dog parks in the city. Mix of gravel, grass and trees with a seperate gated area for shy/aggressive dogs. There is a fountain for dogs to drink from and a kiddie pool to play in. Benches and seating line the sides for ownersCons: Right next to the busy L train line. Not good for sensitive dog (or human) ears and holding conversations. Seating is limited if the park is busy.
I really like taking Louis to the park.
Overall, this is one of the best small dog parks I know of. Most of the park is paved - which helps keep dogs clean. There are doggie relief areas and a time out area as well. The park is fairly popular and might intimidate dogs who are a little shy. I have witnessed a few issues with aggressive dogs here, but most people watch their dogs closely and react quickly if any scuffles break out.
Cause I love dogs and ilke .my Buster to play with other dogs
Good size dog park. Lots of room for dogs to run and play. Bring water (no water source in the winter).
Great off the leash dog park. Amenities are well kept up and lots of fun different areas for dogs to play. Careful at the gates if multiple dogs are around.
Nice but smaller urban dog park. Nice resource for the neighborhood, well taken care of.
Everything a dog could want. My dog is a little scared of the el train overhead, but I suspect shell get used to it.
This dog park is amazing. Great location and company and amenities. Not to mention the most adorable things such as a time out area. The best.
Good food
Wiggly field is very spacious and there are often other dogs there ready to play. I used to walk to this park when I lived closer to it. Now, I just drive here, even though there is another dog park within walking distance from me.
My dog’s review: bark bark bark, bark. Bark? Bark bark. 5 stars.
Just okay layout. Could use some more “soft” areas for playing
It is all pavement, no grass. They do have a timeout area for acclimating puppies, undersocialized, mean or nervous docs, which is nice. But more of a social scene for owners than a place to take your dog and get them tuckered out.
Small dog park, asphalt and gravel. But lots of shade. One of the better dog parks on the north side, which isnt saying much.
Great place for the doggos to run around. My dog gets a little freaked out by the El thats so close, but overall its a nice little park. Theres a doggy pool too.
We love Wiggly Field!
This park is always kept clean and has running water during the warmer months. It can get pretty crowded at times, but I’ve never had a poor experience with all the friendly dogs and people.
He playes here on e a week NINO
This place is the best! Our dog had been attacked when he was young by a bigger dog, so he was very scared and antisocial. This park has turned him into the most fun social butterfly!! He goes off leash (we never dreamed of it) and plays with everyone. He also spends most of his time hoarding all of the communal tennis balls.
Tried this dog park out on a whim once even though its out of my way. Absolutely loved it. For the most part, people really take care of this place and are respectful about picking up after their pets. Its large and paved so its a great way to grind your dogs nails down.
Always love a dog park, and always love a good pun.
Love this dog park ! Street parking is usually available, people clean up after their pooches, and theres plenty of seating. A bit bigger than most in the city. The train tracks are right there, but dogs dont seem to mind!
Small, but not too bad for being in the city. Could use a taller fence.
Best non-beach dog park in the city. Plenty of space for furbabies to roam, with an enclosed area for puppies and nervous dogs. Its always clean and the dog owners that go there are usually pretty friendly.
Dog park is clean and fairly well maintained. Mostly concert and gravel bit for the most part its a large, safe, area to take your dog.
We live in West Town and live this park so much that we make the drive for at least a visit a week - its worth it! Always lots of dogs and very friendly people. Parking is typically pretty easy too!
Best dog park in Chicago! Guaranteed!
One of the prettiest dog parks Ive ever been to. My dogs love this place! Lots of tennis balls to play with and doggy pools to cool off on a hot summer day.
Lots of amazing dogs. The dog owners are another story. Most are good people though.
I highly do not recommend this park for your pups there is a lot of owners that take their dogs there that Majority of the dogs there are aggressive
Wiggly Field is a great option if your dog needs a quick fix of butt sniffing.Ive never seen it all that busy (i.e. no more than 10 dogs), but Ive only been a handful of times. In the rear of the park there is a small dog/time out area which Ive utilized to hold a small dog meet-up.One downfall can be the trains which run right overhead, especially if you have a bit of a noise sensitive/anxious dog.
Water fountains for dogs and some nice summer sprinklers for play as well.
Great place!!! Small but plenty of space to run and play
This is such a fun place. Bring your dog-friendly dog and enjoy an afternoon in a reasonably sized dog park with parking generally available nearby.
Love this place, so does my dog. Been going here for years like others in the city. The neighborhood is very friendly and there is usually parking on the street next to the park. Always a great deal of dogs running and playing. Great place to take the dog for a chance to meet other dogs and play. Plus the neighborhood is friendly and clean. They have trash bins for your animals waste and a water spout to fill your bowl.
Nice place and people...you do get the occasional Lincoln Park yuppie or some hipster that doesnt know they are supposed to clean up after thier dog......or train.. it i.e stop it from humping or being aggressive .
Love this park, great neighborhood and good people/dogs. I drive here and can usually find street parking. My pup loves it too!
Nice clean park. Close to the lake. Didnt have any issues with other dogs not getting along with the dog I was watching for a friend. Friendly neighbors.
El is loud but busy with dogs
Clean & friendly dog park: Very well-behaved & trained dogs, as well as respectful and responsible owners.
Its a pretty nice park, as far as dog parks go. My only issue is sometimes with owners that dont seem to understand how to enter and exit the park. Treat it like an airlock! We dont want any doggos escaping!
Very nice...no grass, but what can you expect from a city park
Our favorite one in the city
Beautiful women serving, friendly, was there on game night, but in the early afternoon, easy in easy out.great Chicago dogs.
Nice neighborhood dog park with plenty of room. Especially like the water hoses, doggie refuse bags, and separate section for smaller dogs. Be aware that the L tracks are right next door, so dogs who dont like loud noises may be a bit frightened.
For what Chicago has, this isnt all that bad. It would be nice to find a great park with grass but Ill keep looking.
Nice people. Not too many dogs. Lots of water and two baby pools for the dogs.
Its a dog park, therefore its the best place on earth
My dog likes going to this dog park, more so than the one that is close to my house.
Always take my dogs here cool place but it would be nice if ppl start picking up after their dogs aghh
Great in the summertime and if you have a dog and are looking at finding people who are like minded head here!!You will also hear the sounds of the CTA often
I dont even have a dog, I just hang out here because I like to watch peoples pets and I also enjoy puns. If you have a pug, please bring him or her so we can hang out.
Lots a good puppers
Smaller than the Montrose dog beach but still a great park. The L is nearby so be careful if your dog is afraid of it.
Its small, very busy and right by the EL. It is kept up well, its just pretty overwhelming when you want to monitor your dog.
Somewhat underwhelming, basically just a parking lot with some gravel
Fun dog park! Watch out for bad pet parents not picking up after their dog!
