Very nice trail. Has seats at every little hill. The trail is covered by trees.
Beautiful little trail hidden across the river from downtown Charleston. The bottom lot entrance is right next to Bridge Rd at the light and can be hard to miss. Well-kept gravel trail is just over a mile round trip and has lots of tree coverage, so its perfect even on hot, sunny days (can make it a bit dark and creepy when its later in the day though). The hillsides are covered with daffodils in the springtime, and the trail is lined with honeysuckle!
Lovely greenspace in downtown Charleston, within walking distance of Bridge Road. Deer are frequently seen in the woods. Lovely gardens line parts of the path.
I Love this place. I bring the little boys up here and we love to walk and look for different things. We sit on the benches and have sweet talks, when Im alone it makes for a great workout
Peaceful little walk right out of downtown. Easy.
Wonderful place to walk when its so hot out. Immediately makes me happy.
Beautiful simple trail, plenty of space to walk with your children!
Great nature setting right in the middle of town! The city does a great job maintaining it.
Nice shady place to walk on hot day!

Peaceful dog friendly and scenic
Beautiful to walk and not a bad incline
So many wonderful spots to photograph!
Beautiful, trail.
Scenic, quiet, short hike! Interesting Civil War history. It took a few trys to find the correct street to get to the trail, but worth the confusion. The homes on the mountainside were beautiful!!
A very pretty walk
Great place for hiking and walking
So beautiful an peaceful
Such a great little trail. We didnt go far because we where scared to get to close to others houses but next time we will walk the entire trail!
Absolutely gorgeous trail, with historical ties even, all in the heart of downtown Charleston very well upkeep and moderate incline but plenty of places to pause and take break along the way. Ill definitely return!
A winding footpath that connects South Hills to the Dickinson Street Bridge, the Sunrise Carriage trail offers a great view of Charlestons downtown at the top and a peaceful, gently sloped hike with benches and stepped cut-throughs. Parking is available both at the top and at the bottom of the trail.
Yesterday I park my car at the bottom of carriage Trail and walked up the hill when I came back my window was smashed in my purse was stolen from underneath the passenger seat another vehicle which was a Mercedes was also smashed and grabbed this has been occurring on the regular be very very careful I will not be gong back over there. Peaceful trail
Nice walk on the trails
Great for running, less than ideal for watching 4th fireworks, unless youre at the top or bottom. Still love it!
Hidden gem in downtown Charleston. Family friendly, excellent trail for all ages. Easily accessible to strollers or wheelchairs. It is a bit of a gradual climb, but well worth it.
Such a beautiful walk from the South Side train station to what used to be known as Sunrise Museum. I feel safe along the trail. Very pleasant. Seating along the way.
Nice quick walk on a wide smooth easy path
Always a nice place for a quick walk!
Great place to walk the dog close to downtown
Lovely, well-cared-for trail from Sunrise mansion down the hill to the train station.
Beautiful park and trail system just across the bridge from downtown Charleston. A real hidden gem just a short walk away from the downtown skyscrapers. Enjoy the history and the scenic nature walk all rolled into on short trip. Thank You to all the parties that helped preserve the historic carriage trail.
Nice easy trail
Love walking this trail and continuing on to the top of Bridge Street. Very pretty and peaceful.
Sunrise trail is always beautiful. It has a large gravel pathway from the top all the way to the bottom of the mountain. It is a popular spot. Everytime I go I run into at least 6 or so people. Definitely a nice place to go for a walk.
Cool and peaceful walk into nice old neighborhood
One of my favorite easy walks in the world.
A great place to get out and enjoy a walk. Stroller friendly.
Great little trail wrapped with nature thats next to the city to get a quick run/walk in. Beautiful vistas.
Beautiful Walk and a great place to be outside.
Love that place at 7 am
Really good trail for upper middle class white people who are in moderate shape and dont actually care about hiking in nature.
Beautiful well kept trail!!
The feeling of being in nature in the heart of downtown Charleston.
A little paradise in the city. Tree canopy covered gravel trail in a South Hills hollow.
