The French Quarter is a wonderful place to explore in DT Charleston. The name recognizes the high concentration of French merchants in the areas history. Its full of so much History and you never know what you are going to find around each corner.St. Philips Church is the oldest European-American religious congregation in South Carolina and is on The National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1836.This Beaut can be found at 142 Church St. in Charleston.
Beautiful and very welcoming church. The youth group is amazing here and this church family has really changed my life!
Very pretty. Freaky at night..
Closed during covid but very pretty! The cemetery is impressive and old
St Philip’s Church is a beautiful and historic church. I really enjoy visiting here and being able to take in all of the history and architecture. They are warm and welcoming here and it is worth a visit if you are in the area. I have attended numerous services and events throughout the years and have always had a positive experience.
Feeling blessed after visiting here this Thanksgiving morning. God resides in his people and you know that when you meet them. God bless Charleston and his people.
This is one of the most authentic traditional expressions of Christian worship around. Not to mention the thoughtful preaching that is as inspiring as the architect. Super easy service time as well.
Hard to rate a closed church; it was about 9 pm. A lot of character and architecture. Wish I had an opportunity to come back during the day and enjoy more of the history and beauty of this two hundred year old church.
Best crab cake Benedict Ive ever had.. Ever. You have to make a stop here. You wont regret it.
Architecture is amazing! Such a peaceful serine church to walk into. Highly recommend
Beautiful building and well maintained cemetery.
One of the greatest blessings in our family was becoming members of St Philips! I was overwhelmed and nervous- because change, size and beauty- I didn’t think it would feel welcoming and was intimidated. I have never been so thankful to be wrong in my opinion! The clergy staff and members have welcomed us with open arms and we absolutely love being part of the St Philips family.
So Lovely
Amazing church, cemetery, graveyard and pipe organ. Very hospitable members
Old church, pretty interior, lots of history
Great church. The preaching/teaching is the best you will find in Charleston.

Great historical stuff
Most beautiful church in a town of churches! Truly, the Spirit of the Lord is in this place. Very welcoming!!!
This fantastic cemetery is literally full of history. Each headstone is a complete work of art and such a huge piece of history that i was simply amazed at every step. Such a beautiful and peaceful place and a photographers dream come true. The old trees were amazing and i would love to come back here in the fall.
What a great walk and fun history. Loved it all.
Great Church. Great people. Beautiful interior and exterior. A true gem of the the city of Charleston.
Beautiful on the outside. I was not inside so I cannot comment.
Beautiful Historic Church in the heart of Charleston.
Beautiful place. 4 stars because I wish it were open more often to look around inside. I tried three times over the weekend, and only barely made it to peek at the sanctuary as they were closing up after Sunday service. From the website it looks like they are open during the day Monday-thursday, but I was only in town Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday.
Just went in to see it and a member of the congregation was there, if the whole church family is like him youll enjoy services. A sign also clearly states, the only ghost you will encounter here.... THE HOLY GHOST!! So super friendly and of course the Church itself is gorgeous.
We came on a ghost tour. The tour guide was amazing.
Beautiful church, nice man there with history of the church.
Beautiful, stunning church in the heart of the historic Charleston downtown. Has a graveyard with headstones dating back to 1600s. Great to add on your tour from batter to market street.
Lives up to its history of being a lighthouse to the world. It is also beautiful, inspiring, friendly and filled with the Gospel message all at once.
Absolutely stunning. It’s a must see!

Amazing, Beautiful. So much history
So very beautiful and much of it, including the graveyards, have remained intact over the last two centuries. Remarkable and gorgeous piece of history!

Beautiful Church
St Philips Episcopal Church has beautiful architecture and the steeple that rises high above the city is just magnificent. When touring the streets of Charleston, SC, dont miss this beauty! And the cemetary across the street is lovely as well.

What a lovely spot! Beautiful church and graveyard!
Very impressive spire visible from all around downtown Charleston.
Beautiful, historic cemetery is worth a visit. A ghostly Sue Howard has been spotted - and photographed - holding her infant, according to the iphone ghost tour we took. Spooky! Otherwise, the cemetery is very peaceful and well kept.
Original church built in the 1600s... Open to the public.
