Had a lot of fun snowshoeing here. It was busy with snowmobiles last time we went, so try to plan to go when they arent doing that. It will smell like gasoline if you do. Anyway, we still enjoyed the day and saw some nice views. We found a path away from the snowmobiles going up the mountain. You could see Tahoe and it was good exercise! I have been here at other times of the year too.
It was a lot of fun trails on the steeper side but they were so much fun will return
Awesome hike up to the vista. Views of Lake Tahoe in the distance, Spooner far below and small, and the Carson Valley on the east side. Moderate climb but worth the effort tracked about 7 miles rt.
Good spot to go for a hike or for mountain biking with multiple trail options.
Great Trail not too difficult. There is good parking available. The area is rich with history. The site is the location of the start of of the flume which was used to float the logs down to Carson City after they were cut down from the surrounding hillsides. The pictures, displays and Nevada State Historic Marker are informative and well worth the read.
Trail easy view is great
Good for hiking Tahoe Rim Trail
One of the greatest place to have fun with families and friends.
Can you say...epic?
Its beautiful up there. Lots of trails to walk through forested areas in the wilderness.
Enjoy the 3-mile hike around the lake beautiful fall colors and options to continue on the Tahoe rim trail or Trail to Marlette Lake
Great free place to pull RV or car. Good bathrooms and trailhead for multiple hikes. Just off road road but tolerable noise at night.
Beautiful trailhead that has had some improvements made this year.
Great hike but for an advanced hiker for sure great views
This was beautiful and a great hike
I didnt walk, I airsofted.
Amazing trail with snowshoeing on a snow day. Very recommend to all.
Great place, Enjoyed a great snowmobile ride there from the wonderful people at Zephyr Cove had s great time there for sure.
Pollen pollution and no good scenery
Great hike up to Marlette
Great trail with parking. Be careful of mountain bikers who blast down narrow trails without regard for hikers.
Great place for a picnic...stop for well water and clean bathrooms if they hiking Tahoe Rim Trail!
Fun hike in the summer and fall and good snowshoeing in the winter
Great views at summit
Its beautiful!
This trail is less crowded, however not as beautiful as I had remembered.
Good idea to buy a parking pass for NV State parks.
Good to have some fun
Great hike ..nice lake
Awesome day snow hiking!
An OK place to go r/c crawling.
$1 per person at this entrance vs $10 at park entrance (per car). Beautiful area.
Trailhead that usually has very handy little paper maps for the Tahoe rim trail section starting at Spooner summit, which include other trails. If youre going to the Spooner lake area there is a fee to pay (I think $1), but if youre going through the rim trail, its free.
Access to the Tahoe Rim Trail.. Absolutely beautiful terrain!
White Christmas... I got it here, wish come true
