Terrific guides. The museum is so well done to explain the Native Ameticsn experience of going to Stewart. So awful and a lot of cruelty evolved into a good experience for the students (over a period of years).

The trail has an interactive map system. You call a number on your cell. Enter the simple code. And voices of actual former students speak of their experiences when the school was in operation. If you have the time. Id recommend making this trip.

There is a rich history behind this place. Quaint. We were there to attend a graduating class from the Police Academy.

Wish we could see inside some of the old buildings. Otherwise, self guided tour was great!

They seem to be off to a good start. Quite a bit of reference material, fairly decent timeline display. Informative.

Amazing to see people using a landmark like that for positive things. Very moving to see Native people gathering on Fathers day to dance and honor their ancestors. Definitely check out the annual pow wow.

1 Indian taco with lemonade, pasole & Mexican tacos, and lemonade is what we ate. Really enjoyed all the visiting with people and pow wow dancing. Not to mention hearing about my parents who met while attending this school.

Lots of history here. While this area is also used for law enforcement training, it also holds a piece of what made Nevadas natives.

This easy 20-stop walking tour leads visitors around the historic campus. The entire trail is paved, primarily along the sidewalks with a few narrow sections that have you walking along the road between buildings. Each stop has an associated audio file that features former students, faculty, and staff describing their experiences. I really enjoyed spending time learning about this school, the students whom attended, and really appreciate the community members who gave their time to ensure this lesson is not lost to history.
