Nice views and a clean trail. Not so easy that it felt like a walk, and not so hard that it felt like a mistake. I went on a Sunday morning and there werent too many people on the trail, but it was November. Plenty of options to extend your hike. This hike was good enough and close enough, I will be uo there again!

Multiple trails option. From an easy 2 miles to the top to a 10 miles rounds trip from wildcat. I wish the trails was better marked. Too many splits and vegetation from Wildcat route.

Fantastic hike with great views both at the summit and along the way. The trail is mostly shaded so its perfect even on a hot day. The path we took was 4.5 miles with about 1000ft of elevation gained, so its not too physically demanding. Definitely recommend!

Went up to the lookout from the Holly Road access point on the Wildcat trail. It was 9 miles round trip with about 1100 feet change in elevation. The trail is well marked and maintained. We went during a weekday and only saw 6 other hikers. Although there are some great views along the way, the trail is really designed for motorcycles so there is a lot of switchbacks and meandering that makes the hike feel like it is much longer than it should be. With the elevation change and loose rocks, there is a chance of slipping and falling on your rear. Bring some sturdy shoes and a walking stick. There is a bathroom in the parking lot and another near the Vista.

We took the gold creek trail head to hike to the top of green mountain. What a lovely hike! Not extremely difficult, but there is some good elevation gain. The views of the hood canal are beautiful in the way to the top, and then the view from the top of green mountain is breathtaking. Definitely worth the trip, and one of the few hikes Ive encountered in kitsap that feels like an actual hike.

The roads to Goold Creek Trail Parking lot are Rural, you dont have cellphone reception most of the time. We hiked up Gold Creek Trail to the top of Green Mountain, approximately 2.4 miles. We took The Beaver Pond/Plummer Trail back to the Truck. We did around 6 miles in 3hrs 15 minutes. It was not hot. Loose rocks higher up the trail. Getting to Many Nice views of Seattle, the Olympics and the sound is a Nice Bonus . The trail difficulty is 2.5 out of 5. For difficulty and vertical climbing. Mostly because of the rocks on parts of the trail throughout. Where good shoes and bring something to drink. Happy Trails ️

Took the dog for a short 9 mile walk yesterday, trails were nice not many people out which we like, trails cross each other many times while hiking wildcat trail so be sure you follow signs as to keep staying on wildcat trail, parking area was big enough for many cars, discovery or America the beautiful pass required

A beautiful, fun trail with views equivalent to Mount Ellinor, which is 5 times as tall! You can see Seattle, SeaTac, Mt. Rainier, Baker, Glacier Peaks, and the Eastern Olympics! Looking north from the clearcuts you can see where the land cuts off to the Juan De Fuca. If you want to bike, drive up to the Vista Trailhead and bike down from the top. The hike from the Gold Creek Trailhead is about an hour and a half to the top but is well worth it. Lots of evergreen huckleberries you can munch on on your way to the top. If you walk from the upper trailhead and you could take the Gold Creek trail, you definitely shouldve.SO COOL!...cool and good.

Beautiful. Good variety of mtb and hiking trails. Although i grew up riding motorcycles out here, they are ruining the trails, by treating them like a motocross track. TREAD LIGHTLY or you will most likely lose your rights to ride here.

Started at Wildcat Lake Trailhead. Rode up Wildcat Lake Trail. Surprisingly dusty for March. A few damp spots. Dumped the motorcycle on a pair of big roots about halfway between the first and second road crossings. The bike bounced left. I fell right. The trail is in great shape up to the horse camp. The trail is wide enough for ATVs, but does not list it on the trail signs. There was one work van parked at the horse camp, but no one around. The well at the horse camp is marked non-potable. The trail splits about 100 yards above the road to the horse camp. We stayed on Wildcat Lake Trail. Above the horse camp, the trail would be tough to ride on an ATV. One road above horse camp, we found snow on the side of the trail (as shown in the photo.) Gold Creek Trail was considerably steeper than Wildcat Lake Trail. It was also quite a bit drier because of the southern exposure. The trail is not ATV friendly because of trees being too close together across the trail. Once you cross the bridge at the bottom of the hill, the trail is on an old road grade that is ATV friendly although the signs do not say ATVs are permitted. There is a pit toilet at the Gold Creek Trailhead parking lot. Returning to Wildcat Lake Trailhead was across Plummer Trail. The Southern end of the trail is not well marked. It starts off Westbound at a switchback on Gold Creek Trail. About 300 yards later, the trail forks up the hill to start Plumbers Trail. The first 300 yards is easy. The next 500 yards has several groups of big roots across the trail. Definitely not a beginner trail. Once across the first road, the trail gets easy again. Not very wide, but we made good time on it. There were several feet of snow beside the trail near the fifth road crossing. None on the trail or the road. Going back down Wildcat Lake Trail was easy except for the same root that crashed me earlier in the day. This time, the root grabbed my foot peg stopping the bike in about 5 mm. My chest hit the kill switch stalling the engine. I am looking forward to running the loop in the other direction next week.

Awesome and easy hike! But WAY too many people, some talking on their phones, one gal was doing FaceTime loudly up the trail, we had one guy walking right behind our heels having a loud conversation making it unenjoyable. Had to stop and let the masses by several times just to have peace & quiet. (were not old cranky people were in our 30s, we just appreciate nature and a good hike).Group of people made the rocks on the summit overlook their picnic site so no one could get up there & take photos. People suck. Advice: go as early in the morning as you can unless you like being surrounded. (we began at 9am)
