Love the hike, its a good workout. And I love dogs but it does say to have all of them on a leash and almost every single one I saw wasnt. Also, please clean up after them on the trail especially when bags are provided at the beginning of the trail. It makes it more enjoyable for everyone.
Great place to hike!!
Love this easy hike! Took our puppy here for his first hike and he loved it too
My Dad used to bring me here often, when I was a child, so my love of this place may be partially sentimental. This is a really good quick hike, but can be extended for just about anything long as you like. Its a good choice for the hot months, as the majority of it is shaded by trees, and great for kids, because of the flowing water and cool boardwalk paths.
I love Kirk Hill. There are a few different trails so you can go for a shorter or longer hike. Warning to those looking for a casual stroll, there are a lot of switchbacks. You certainly dont have to be an Olympic athlete either. The view at the top is definitely worth a little sweat. My dog had a fantastic time, she was extremely happy to be there! As of yesterday-3/21/18, it is very slushy and icy(very slippery). I highly recommend some trax for your shoes.
Trailhead, porta potty, turnabout, limited parking for larger groups. Curb your dogs, some people havent.
Gets the blood pumping and then an easy ridge walk. Loop back down. Great walk in the woods with viewpoints.
The trail is groomed but a few railings need to be updated. There is nothing like the view from the top though.
A favorite hiking spot that will help give your calves a workout for the first portion of the ascent . After getting over the uphill portion, the trail connects to an old logging road that goes on for miles down a nearby canyon. The views of the Gallatin Valley are worth the hike and venturing into the canyon is peaceful and meditative.Bears are spotted regularly on this trail, so bringing bear spray is a necessary precaution.
Great short hike with lots of potential to go farther. The beginning is steep but it levels out . There is a Wickiup at the top. If you head South it will take you up to forest service trails. Eventually it links up with the old logging roads.
Beautiful
Great hike if you are looking for some quick elevation and dont want to drive North to the M. Never very crowded but the views are somewhat limited. After a few miles you will hit logging roads where you can walk or run for miles. Hey drop down into Sourdough for a long loop
Great place for a quick hike with a good view. Usually not too crowded either
Kirk Hill is a small trail system that connects to much else. Steep grades offer a great workout. Although views are limited on the way up, the top of the park offers a great view of the valley to the west. Check out the wooden tee-pee!
My favorite in town hike. The fields of wild flowers are awesome.
This place is amazing ;) Its my new M workout, just as steep, shaded, less people
Great quick fix on a time crunch! Beautiful & accessible!
A great trail close to town. The switchbacks get your heart pumping but then you have nice loops with views.
Peaceful
Steep trail just off of 19th. Good short run.
Very nice, short loops with lovely views of the valley. Trail can be icy in the winter, making it a bit treacherous.
Fun place! Good hike.
Nice trails and views. Close to town.
We need to check it out with out all the ice.
It is too steep for me ..
Gorgeous!
