An excellent N/S commute route into downtown Bozeman and a key linkage in the ever-growing Mainstreet-To-Mountains trail system.Access is available at many streets and the trail interconnects four or five large and smaller pocket parks. Street crossings are decently marked but watch for ignorant motorists.

Even though I showed up in the middle of the night to meet a friend who was walking their dog it was a really nice walk.

Gallagator Trail in Bozeman is part of an old rail line. It begins at the old train depot, which has been preserved and turned into the public library. The trail goes for about 1.5 miles. It is dog friendly and the children are sure to enjoy it as well. There are several works of art along the path for you to check out. Following the trail also provides glimpses of a stream that flows it alongside it. The only downside was part of the trail was closed while they do some road work. Anyway, I recommend this trail if you are looking to get some stroll time in. Enjoy!

Theyre doing some work by the trail but the workers are very nice and courteous.

Great for biking, walking, and running! Not so good for skateboards or downhill skiing. As long as people keep their dogs leashed, you are good to go.

Lots of great trails right in town

Gallagator Trail is one the easiest stretches of Main Street to the Mountains. It is usually easy to walk, even during the winter months, and has a few outlets into main roads that lets you access restrooms, shopping centers, parks and more.
