The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge is one of the widest cable-stayed bridges in the world. The Bridge serves as the northern entrance to and exit from Boston. The Bridge is named after civil rights activist Lenny Zakim and the American colonists who fought the British in the Battle of Bunker Hill. There are several parks on every side of the river, and a nice walking overpass that allows you going under the bridge and crossing from one side to the other.
Great bridge go over it several times a week nice view love it when it gets lit up in different colors
Really nice looking bridge and love the design of it. Can be a horrible point for traffic though and exists within what is the maze of Boston roads and you hit it right before or after the tunnels depending on which way you are going. I just can not go higher than 3 stars for something that is part of the worst designed road system in the US.
A piece of arctectional history but as always getting outdated fast
Beautiful Bridge To Cross. A True Boston Landmark And An Icon Of Boston. Beautifully Made And At Night Depending On The Day / Holiday The Bridge Glows In Color. Traffic Jams Up But Its Normal Since It Is Boston. Nothing To Do About It. A True Sheen Of Beauty And Well Worth Whatever Toll Is To Be Paid. Make Sure Your Cross This Bridge Wherever You May Go. Its A Sight To Awe About And Enjoy And Depending On Your Location In Boston It Is Fairly Visible. An Enjoyment To Behold
Lovely place to stroll, take pictures and skateboard. There is a modern design foot bridge connecting North Point Park (Cambridge) with Paul Rever Park (Charlestown) that spans under the Zakim bridge. Duck tour boats enter the water beneath this bridge. And there is a playground with views of Boston and the Charles river.
Its so beautiful
One of Boston’s newest landmarks fits perfectly with its legacy monuments.
Beautiful and easy to navigate
The Leonard P.Zakim bridge is number 1 it has a beautiful name and the lights are so beautiful it just makes me happy, can remember when they were building it. Boston is a beautiful city .
The bridge forms a beautified backdrop for sunset and night view. I dint cross it but got a chance to view it while taking the freedom trail towards bunker hill monument.
Great land mark for those of us who live here and traveler from out of state to view and experience
The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge is a multiple lane bridge crossing the Charles River, linking Boston to Charlestown. Opening to the public in 2003 this is presently one of the widest cable-stayed bridges in the world. The bridge was part of the Big Dig highway transportation project in Boston and was named after activist Lenny Zakim as well as the the famous battle at nearby Bunker Hill, the first major battle of the American Revolution. You can get a good look at the bridge from the footbridge just northeast of the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge. while making the Freedom Trail walk. Just look inland and youll be able to see the bridge pretty well.
Awesome bridge. Crazy traffic across it. Maine has one similar. But in maine you can take elevator to top to view
This Bridge is named Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge and it opened to the public for transportation in 2003. The name honors one person and a battle. The bridge was named after Leonard Paul Zakim aka Lenny Zakim who was a Jewish-American religious and civil rights leader born in Boston. It was also named after the battle that was close by at Bunker Hill. That battle was one of first major battle in marking the American Revolution. It has four driving lane on both sides and it crosses over the well known Charles River around Boston, MA. This Bridge links Boston and/into Charlestown. Its an unusual design for a Bridge but has become more normal with the newer design Bridges.I got most of my/this information after a few Google search and reading a some reviews.
Wonderful place for photography, be it during the day or (especially) at night. Both sides of the bridge are good with interesting views, a small park to hang out. Closer to the south end, it is noisy from North Station, but has some intriguing viewpoints. Also fun to drive across the bridge with the roof open and looking up (not the driver!) :)
Beautiful bridge and park area. I was visiting Boston and had to stop by and walk around. You can walk underneath the bridge as well, so you dont have to walk near cars. Beautiful area and view of Boston.
~ In Warmer Months, It Is And Can Be Pleasant To Look Up At This Architecture And Marvel At Its Amazing Design ~ June, July, August ; Bestest Place In Greater Boston To Stay Koolistickly Kool With Cross Breaze .. Loved the experience of driving through this bridge..the view is mesmerising!
Its a groovy bridge and makes a great Boston landmark.
It did not break when I drove across it. Really not much more you can ask for from a bridge.
First time driving on 93 N thru downtown Boston. Pretty awesome to see the Zakin Bridge after coming out of the tunnel
Most beautiful bridge I have ever driven on. Especially at night
Nice extremely wide cable stay bridge.
Beautiful bridge. Lots of space to sit and enjoy the view. It is also close to a great Park.
Beautiful bridge when its all lit up! Sometimes its so colorful & bright.. sometimes not so much! Keep the Zakim lit Boston!!
Everything is beautiful and full of history.
This bridge lives up to its reputation. A huge piece of architecture, it is fun to just watch the several lanes of traffic pass over it for awhile. While youre going over it, admire the water or the Boston skyline. I plan to revisit it at some point.
Id like to support all the other 5 star reviews and say that through my span of experiences I have never had a bad memory of this bridge. It steels my heart and is a concrete highlight of my life. It has help bridged the gap in my relationship with my roommate and beams joy into the hearts of children everywhere. This bridge just raises me up.
The fish was delicious
It is a bridge. It is fully operational.
Very fine bridge for a very fine highway (I-93). I also love when they light it up in different colors.
Beautiful bridge that helps the city look that much better. Only thing that sucks is the damn traffic on it pretty much all the time.
Great dog park and kids park under bridge
LOVE IT! GUITAR STRINGS ON IT! AND ITS RIGHT ACCROS THE STREET FROM THE HOME OF THE BRUINS AND CELTICS!
Held up while I drove across it.
Great bridge! Have driven over it prob 100+ times and it has not fallen down. Good quality but the price was a bit high.
Wonderful bridge! Far preferable to swimming across the Charles on a cold day.
An exquisitely beautifully lit bridge at night.
Fantastic architect architecture
This is a nice place to go and spend time with friends family and animals plus just sit there and just relax
Cheap price, good quality food, fast service, cant get much better.
Beautiful bridge right in the heart of Boston. Lovely view of the garden plus it lights up!!
This bridge is absolutely beautiful. Especially at night. Plus you can see TD garden from it.
Can you tell me who Leonard Zakim was without a google search? Most people cant. Can you point to an accomplishment of Leonard Zakim? Even with a google search, most people cant
Beautiful bridge....
Bridge was beautiful with green lights this morning in honor of St. Patricks Day. The highlight of my commute!
It didnt fall down when I drove over it so I guess it is a pretty good bridge.
The view is great on this bridge, which replaces the Charlestown High Bridge which opened from 1954 until 2004.
Nice scenes from below the bridge if you bike! Highly recommend it!
Beautiful bridge day or night. No matter how often I see it I enjoy looking at it ever time.
The Zakim is a joke of a pretend bridge built because Boston felt inadequate without a suspension bridge of its own. Look over the railing, a common highway connector bridge (Leverett Circle) is right alongside covering the same distance. But heck, Boston was burning the tax dollars of people across the country in the big dig bonfire that funded it. Tiny but hugely expensive.
Cool looking bridge. The views are nice during the night.
Amazing bridge. Just stunning at night. Wow.
This bridge looks like a very fine piece of human engineering, I would love to meet the engineer. By nate turnbo
