I lived next door until 1972.I remember when the basement was dug. And the sill logs were made from cottonwood logs. Squared by hand with an ax.In the back corner are two tomestones dating from 1863, they are located on the other side of the fence.

Read the historical marker for the first time. Very informative. Nice job with the flower beds. The trees are beautiful but i was unsure as to which one is the hackberry. Would be nice if it was marked because of its significance. Looking forward to a tour inside.Studied the corner interlocking joints of the cabin. Very interesting. Good job Sarpy County Historical society!

This cabin popped up out of nowhere while we were visiting the neighborhood. Neat history and the tree is just a bonus feature.
