This is best place to visit anytime of year with family and kids...Some people like the trails and specific areas that have variety of plants.I like this place to visit during spring and Christmas time..For spring you get to see lots of variety of flowers and Capture those adorable things. Christmas is happening place due to the lights..I have got chance to capture some flowers this spring and loved to stay there way longer I expected to be
We love this park. We just wont walk here when the lights are up because they block off 40% of the trail for lights and set up barriers so you cant walk past them. So december we avoid this park.I really hope with covid they dont put them up. The lights attract thousands and with lights being outside most will refuse to wear a mask.
Very nice place to go for a walk outdoors! Gardens are beautiful!
What a lovely garden, with lots of special flowers and plants. The garden is designed with different themes, and most flowers in blossom now. I like the Japanese theme a lot, the sense of clam is so relaxing. A nice place for kids and family.
Such a beautiful place. Wide, compact, well maintained pathways with very few stairs. Each garden is marked with a unique QR code that will tell you which plant varieties live in that particular garden. (To turn on this feature with an iPhone, go into settings, camera, and then turn on “scan QR code’s”. Point your camera at the QR code as if you’re going to take a photo and it will automatically pull up a notice toward the top of your screen. Touch the notice before it disappears and that will show you a list of the plants in that bed. Scroll through the pictures to find what you’re looking for.)The Japanese garden wasn’t open when I was there, but I’ll be going back to see it for sure!
We have been here a couple of times. It is one of the most beautiful places in our area, and graciously maintained by people that really care. There are 6 or 7 different areas of landscapes so nicely keep, from sunny spots to shady rock water features. Oh ya, a ravine walk down in the native forest, with a suspension bridge thats awesome. Oh and a cafe with espresso and food back at the top before you relax and head home. Totally makes a Great outting, I believe! In the past, they hold an Arts fair in the summer, not this year, hopefully next!
Definitely a gem in the heart of Bellevue.Rather large parking lot, great variety of different plants and beautiful trails for a short walk. There are couple of things to see as bridges, Japanese garden, and some installations that can entertain kids a lot. There is a fountain with water flowing between floor tiles. There is a coffee shop and restrooms. And during the fall time - it is a great photo place, as you may find yellow, red, green and other leaf colors in the single place.By the way, entrance is free as well.
Garden was well-kept and more people there than we expected. Masked and distanced, it was encouraging to be enjoying the gardens with other humans. First time here since moving from Texas. Weve been learning the native plants and this 3 hour visit was very helpful! Wonderful community resource!
I love Bellevue Botanical Garden! Im shocked at Cherises negative review, but maybe she was having a bad day. Perhaps she needs some HRT?Anyway, my cousin got married at Bellevue Botanical Garden, and we have wonderful memories of the meadow with the oak trees. The Pasadena Pops also performed their summer concerts in that very same meadow --what a beautiful ambience for listening to music! Our family enjoys going to Bellevue Botanical Garden when the tulips are in bloom. Their Camelias are always beautiful, too.Cherise, lighten up!!
Good fall colors..chill place to visit.Has lots of parking lot. Everyone is wearing mask. Kids friendly.
I cant get enough videos of the bees here pollinating the flowers, its massive! Flowers are pretty, the Japanese garden especially
Good amount of parking, variety in walks and some trails, public restroom and a Cafe. Really all the things you could wish for. The garden is well maintained and I generally see people working on it. There is generally enough room to have some peace and quiet.
Expansive space with well maintained paths and horticulture. A little crowded at times but most folks practiced social distancing. Bummed we didnt pack a picnic...while totally prohibited on the lawn based on the policies on the website, that didnt deter other families and friends from doing so UTR. . .
The garden was pretty and well managed. At first the place seemed small but there are many trails to walk through and explore the wildlife.
What a lovely gem in the middle of Bellevue. Brought my parents here. The beautifully paved paths were well managed by their old knees. :) We had a great time walking here.
This is a beautiful urban oasis in an otherwise evergreen state. Easy to meander around, and delight in the collection, especially the Japanese garden.
One of my families favorite spots for walking. Mostly flat, the entrance has forested area to the left and to the right the flower gardens. The forested area includes a trail going back to a suspension bridge and a nice loop in raw Forrest area. The flower section is amazing in summer with tons of blooms. Fall colors are gorgeous here too.
Great place to spend time with family and friends! Lots of different beautiful plants youll see and will welcome you! Best place to have a walk and enjoy the scenery!
Lots of trails, loops, and surprises. The suspension bridge was tucked away and a big surprise when you encounter it. There’s also some wild life roaming around the forest area and plenty of perennials in the more cultivated gardens.
A quite place in middle of busy suburb. They have a nice cafe right next to open space. Best think is they don’t have an entrance fees. If nothing else, this place is good for a walk through the nature.
The garden was so beautiful with many different types of flowers and trees. I was astounded by the gorgeous colors of the various fauna and flora. There are many signs with cool information on how to make your own perfect little garden. A small coffee shop is tucked away on the trail with several benches and tables to sit at. There are several benches sprinkled about the trail to enjoy the different types of plants throughout making it nice to rest and really take in the natural beauty of the trail.
Nice urban relaxing place. You can still hear traffic even when deep within the garden. This place is pretty crowded during weekends, and most of the visitors do not wear mask. Bad when there is covid19 going on...
This garden was so beautiful! I got to see so many different types of flowers. There was a nature trail to walk, as well, for those that just want greenery and not as much flowers. There was a really cool suspension bridge to walk across, as well as lots of cool structures that made for awesome photos. The air was very clear and crisp. I was so relaxed. The roses were my favorite as they smell like a dream. And can you believe the garden is free?!
Its in heart of Bellevue. Very well maintained thematic gardens. If you are looking for fall colors with short drive from Seattle metropolitan area.
Had a fantastic time. The gardens were amazing! The little store was amazing. We had a fantastic time. The ladys had a wonderful conversation with my husband and mother in law. We had a blast and cant wait to go back. They have scan and read posts through out the garden and you can learn about each individual plant in the garden it was fantastic!!!!
Magnificent city park. No dogs allowed. But a great place for a walk among the foliage and the flowers
The Garden is an enchanting place. So much beautiful green beauty. It was raining but have the trees made an umbrella.
Absolutely beautiful! So serene and relaxing. Lovely florals and wildlife. This place is well taken care of!
Been going here for years. Gorgeous botanical garden. Just found theres also a huge wooded area with great easy hike
Gorgeous walks. Fall and spring are best. Photo opps everywhere. Must see
Beautiful and peaceful place! So many types of plants. A lot of them are labeled too.
This beautiful garden never ceases to impress! Always changing with the seasons and never disappoints! A very rare cost free treasure!
This place is GORGEOUS! Do walk down to the ravine and see the suspension bridge if you visit. It is so wonderful that it is free to visit these gardens. They were so beautiful and so peaceful!
Came here for the Christmas lights. It was only $5 per person, so it was well worth the experience. It wasn’t as big as the Christmas light events that I’ve been to in Los Angeles, but it was definitely enjoyable. They had a gingerbread village, and some were quite awesome.
We love visiting their holiday light display. Lovely lights and a fun scavenger hunt for the kids. We enjoy their little gingerbread display which is located inside where there is seating and a coffee/cocoa stand. Perfect place to warm. The store is nice and the staff in it very helpful.
So serene, excellent spot to sit back and watch a movie on the grass/bench/rock whatever suits your fancy. Considering how cloudy the Pacific Northwest is sunlight glare wont be an issue haha. Not interested in botany at all just like this place better than my apartment to spend the weekends
Beautiful and people are very good at social distancing and wearing masks at all times.
1. Free2. Well organized3. Lots and lots of flowering and non flowering plants4. Digital info available of all varieties5. Stroller possible but since most of walkways are gravel, baby carrier advisable12/26/18 - They have amazing christmas lights display10/4/19- Came in for fall colours but could not find much. Good garden to stroll though
Beautiful garden with so many varieties of flora and fauna. Love going to this garden every now and then.
This is a good place to relax and unwind. This place is really great.
This place was a wonderful surprise the first time I visited years ago. Its still great for a nice walk anytime the weather allows it. You wouldnt think youd find something so Zen not far from Bellevue.
Mostly gravel roads, plus a bridge over a dramatic ravine and some single-track trails.
I love this place! A little paradise ! Always is something in bloom here anytime of the year. Bunch of trails with many benches provide scenic resting places. My favorite season here is fall.Dont miss Holiday lights, Japanese garden and the Ravine suspension bridge is awesome. Plenty of parking.
Beautiful and highly accessible. Enjoyed the garden’s beauty and educational materials. The copper kettle coffee bar is open for orders and a yummy treat to sip while you social distance.
Very nice, short and sweet.
One of the most beautiful place to go at free of cost. In some season it looks full bright and beautiful. In winter it looks bald and naked. Always a good place to stroll and passing time.
Love, love, love that this is accessible to everyone. They do an amazing job maintaining the area. Go early, gets pretty busy.
Colors surround the pathways. Im surprised this place doesnt rate on the 10 Must Visit sites I looked at. But perhaps not being mobbed was part of the charm for me. There is no fee, ample parking, facilities were clean. Take water with you.
A 5 star garden. Love coming here on weekend afternoons and seeing many beautiful flowers. Free parking. Events are held occasionally (tickets may be required)
Amazing place. Pictures tell everything.Very Peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful gardens with variety of flowers and trails. I recommend this beautiful place. There is a very famous Japanese garden inside which is the best of all.
We went there early so we beat the traffic and got a great parking spot. Well worth the $5 each to see it. You can park for free or pay five bucks and be close. A lot of work to put lights up like that. Very cool
Such a great place. Lots of parking, good visitors center and a little coffee shop. The gardens are fantastic, lots of trails and SO many benches. Great for toddlers, mine loved bouncing from bench to bench. The suspension bridge was especially neat. Beautiful flowers! Well maintained bathrooms.
Was incredible experience. Had lots of parking but definitely get there as early as they open it still dark and you still get the effect of all the lights. There is some handicap parking otherwise you may have to walk a little bit. They serve coffee cocoa and they have an indoor area. Its on a gentle slope so people in wheelchairs and with baby strollers can enjoy it also.
I saw the night light spectacular. They had intricate lighting making plants, flowers, trees, etc.pop out in magnificent color and detail . A must if your near the area. absolutely great nite!!!!
Beautiful and peaceful. Everyone was respectful of distancing. Wish the scanning was easier to use to find out about the plants, but definitely will be back.
The perennial garden is so colorful this time of year and the paths throughout the garden are very walkable.
I love going here with my family during the holidays. Its become almost tradition. The whole garden is lit up with glowing Flora and Fauna. I love to see the candy house display of the year, its always spectacular. Lots of fun for the family and the money goes to charity. Just remember to get there early, or go before or after Christmas, parking gets kinda hairy. The gardens are also a nice, free way to enjoy an afternoon in the Spring and early Summer before the temps soar and things dry out.
Great place for a nature walk...
Beautiful gardens, lots of trails to explore, quaint Cafe and music. Great place to let littles explore.
We had such a great time visiting this botanical garden. Rich variety of plants, well taken care of grounds. A pleasant, calm experience for whole family
Lovely free outing with fairly easy to walk trails and a little cafe serving tea and coffee. Nice way to spend an afternoon!
Beautiful, free, well-maintained!There are events throughout the year, clean restrooms, and a cute coffee shop & a giftshop as well.No dogs allowed in the garden.A great place for photography and for kids.
A beautiful meandering walk through all kinds of flora. In the fall the leaves are stunning. Take a few minutes and breathe the fresh air as you take in the surroundings here...
Great place. I love all the trees and flowers.
The Bellevue Botanical Garden is a beautiful little escape in the heart of Bellevue. Nature/Garden lovers are sure to feel like a kid in a candy store at this place. Entry is free. There is a coffee shop inside to grab a quick snack. The suspension bridge is a great experience for little kids. Best time to go is late spring to Fall.
Very nice therapeutic place to walk around and just be. I come here to do mindful meditation. Dont forget your mask!!
Garden Dlights was delightful this year. Always a great way to get into the holiday spirit!
Havent been here in a few years and theyve really done an excellent job expanding the gardens and trail system thru the park. I took my cousin for her first trip and shes hooked. Beauty, diversity, art and (at least today) not a lot of people.
What a great outing and complimentary parking and entry! The park was beautiful, easy to walk, lots of seating areas and not crowded. I will definitely return.
In my opinion, this garden is the gem of Bellevue. It is so peaceful and beautiful. It is also free which is incredible! This is worth checking out.
Picturesque and an ordered yet natural approach towards flora
I love this park the most of any city park. The beautiful gardens and restful forest paths are my favorite place to walk. The incredible floral displays not only delight the eye and nose, but draw wild life like owls, deer, squirrels song birds and frogs who roam freely in this urban park setting. All seasons are a delight here. Spring is heralded by ferns erupting from winter brown earthern hills, and croci in white and purple. Summer brings colors galore with Dalias, blossoming trees, huge maple leaves, and cool shady paths dappled with sunlight. Fall is gorgeous in the Yao garden with its Japanese maples in every shade of red from pink to scarlett. Water features burble and add music to the park. Winter is turned into a wonderland with 2 000,000 tiny lights for the holidays, followed by the most restful time in the garden when it is filled with mist, twining through thd evergreens, while the streams fill again and the bare branched deciduous trees shimmer with snow and frost. It is magical all year long.
This garden is definitely a work in progress, theres some areas under renovation that were an eye sore but my son and I did like the visit, I enjoyed reading the facts of the different garden themes, the fish pond was very peaceful and I did see some interesting plants and there are a couple of walking trails.
A very beautiful place to go... I highly suggest for a family trip
Breathtakingly beautiful even in winter. We had a family photo shoot here and we were in awe of the beauty and peace surrounding us here! I can’t imagine the beauty when all the flowers are in bloom!
Well maintained. Beautiful. Easy walks.
Beautiful gardens and parkland, but very little is marked.
Beautiful, free place! Loved the gardens, coffee shop and strong wifi. Mix of both native and designed gardens.
Beautiful place, free of charge. Nice to be close to nature
Great place for birdwatching. Lots of golden crowned kinglets.
Nice walk for kids and everyone! Easy walk through pretty flowers
Always a great place to visit any time of the year.
B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L !!!Seems like there are many projects going on there. One of them is to remove non native trees and plant native ones. You will find many tree trunks laying around side walks. I wish they would have clarified how the non-native trees were planted and how did they grow this big. There is also a small are dedicated to plants from Bellevues Japanese sister city Yao.
We visited this place to see winter holidays lights - Garden Dlight. Very nicely decorated lighting. Worth spending couple of hours with family. Ticket is $5 for age 11 and up payble by card or cash. Onsite parking is $5 and theres an option to park free at nearby locations which is 2-3 minutes walk. They have a coffee shop as well.Definitely worth visiting at least once.
This place is serene and peaceful. Spring is the perfect time to see the ever changing garden.
A really nice hidden gem in Federal Way, cost $8 for adult, takes about 45 minutes to stroll thru the whole garden
This place is beyond my expectations! So many beautiful plants. They have a Dahlia garden, waterfalls, benches in gorgeous nooks. I want to live here.
Love the gardens! Very well taken care of and absolutely beautiful. Paths, tours, gift shop, and a coffee shop.
So beautiful and many unique plants. Also the steamed milk was yummy. Highly recommend it. Cant believe its free!
A good place all year long
A lovely day out. Beautiful serene. A true Bellevue treasure.
Very nice garden, parking situation could use some improvement. Not everyone drives a little car.
Cant wait to see in spring, had a great time
Place was actually nice. The problem is theres no clear boundary between Garden (dog not allowed) and Park (dog allowed) especially on the south side. You can easily walk into the garden area without notice, try hard to find a way out, and suddenly be criticized by others, or kicked out by staff rudely because you have dogs with you. Dog owners avoid this area - there are better places to stroll with your dog.
It was beautiful! We went during the Christmas light show and it was amazing! Self guided tour and a snack bar on site.
