I went to Pimlico to get my drive through covid-19 test after being exposed to someone who had tested positive. We moved through at a slow but steady pace. Follow the suggestions online and arrive 15 minutes early and youll be out of there 5 minutes after your scheduled time. Everyone working there is friendly, professional, and happy to answer questions or clarify.

Was probably a really nice track in its earlier years, went there yesterday for a meeting, and its in need of so much love, most the bathrooms out of order, most things damaged, water leaks, sidewalks cracked. I wish the city be able to fund a much needed recovery of this local gem!

I didnt see a race but got to see the betting room and race track. Both appeared clean and well kept. The Preakness signage is everywhere. However the neighborhood is among the worst Ive ever seen, and Ive spent a lot of time in Baltimore. Dirty with shady people. I seriously question the safety of guests if the Preakness remains here. Such a shame.

We had a blast watching Justify win the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown at Pimlico, but we can’t give this track 5-Stars. We grew up in Kentucky going to Churchill Downs (Louisville) & Keenland (Lexington). The quality of the seats, facilities, and overall experience just isn’t as nice as other tracks. It just feels old and run down. The Preakness is exciting and we gave 3-Stars for the historical factor, but renovation is definitely needed!

Ca
Review №31

The price for Preakness day was raised to $40, special drinks were $12 each, there was a tent all along the upper part of rail blocking the view of half the stretch for many people, TVs were ALL the old 12 inch fuzzy picture type, the infield toteboard was blocked by tents and any tvs were too small to see the odds. I added an extra star because there was ample seating in the shade

Pimlico for 2019 Mothers Day Brunch was absolutely wonderful! The decor was really nice and the staff held it down completely. However omitting the Shrimp & Grits, Waffles & Pancakes from the brunch was not good. Kids and most young adults look for that syrup to kick-in with the rest of the meal. The races were awesome and walking away as a winner is always great. Good Job Pimlico!

Not a real dislike, doesnt have the same amenities as laurel park or some other state horse racing venues. Pimlico can still handle an afternoon of betting on the races for horse players. The simulcast comes from other tracks all over the country.

Ka
Review №41

We always have a great time at Pimlico but its because of the company we keep, not the location itself. A very rundown establishment! Beers and food are overpriced and not good. We used to love to bring in our own food to snack on during the races but theyve gotten more strict and dont allow outside food anymore. This year during their busiest weekend (Preakness weekend) the bathrooms were out of order. I feel like this racetrack is closer to falling down every year.

The track itself is excellent. The areas for seating are okay but they need to be updated and refurbished. The biggest fault for this track is the toilets. For this the event, the Preakness, many of the toilets wouldnt flush or were backed up. For the amount of money that the ticket holder pays to go to the Preakness this should not be happening.

Review №57

The Preakness and several outdoor concerts are the reason for its skyscraper-high ratings. Its also surrounded by a diverse variety of people, West Indian, Hebrew, and some Latino residents. Work is in progress to remodel the square-mile race course ITSELF, so that the 2nd jewel of the Triple Crown does remain in Baltimore, not outside the metro Washington DC area, or the states of Delaware and West Virginia! If the area surrounding Pimlico goes under the urban scalpel in a move complementing its proposed $425M overhaul, then the vise grips would make it a city landmark for a half-century longer.

An
Review №58

This place is in serious need of some updates. Came for Black Eyed Susan and Preakness day. Both days there were bathroom problems. Day 1 the womens had no water to flush or wash up and the upper level smelled like sewage. Day 2 the womens was closed and they were directed to use the stalls in the mens bathroom. No running water to flush in the mens bathroom on day 2. The betting machines are glitchy probably because they are running of of Windows 95 (literally, I watched one boot up). For the cost of this event, the food, drinks Pimlico left a lot to be desired. Someone even made the joke that they were likely waiting on a fire because itd be easier to start from scratch than to update all that is severely outdated in the building.

This place is so mismanaged it’s absolutely ridiculous. Me and my guest visit the area of the village which had two tents there that had (NO AIR) and I mean No Air. They should definitely have a better system in place in the future. Honestly seemed like a Oversized Suana people were drenched in sweat. I attempted to locate the banquet manager whom name was Brian Bette which wasn’t any help locating. It was told that he was the Banquet Manager which i assumed they didn’t exert any effort in the hiring process of said BM. I’m sure my grand son could coordinate a better plan than this company and BM. If you’re looking to lose weight and feel uncomfortable by all means follow the white tents.

2019 Preakness turrfside tent experience was not good this year. The infield main stage was placed close to the tent area. The music was extremely loud to the point that we had to shout to talk to each other. If we wanted to listen to the infield music, we would have bought infield tickets.Tent tickets are very pricey and we look forward to a pleasant day watching the races. This year was NOT pleasant! Have been enjoying the races from the tent for several years, but now we may not go back.

I only had a couple issues. The people were absolutely wonderful that work there the employees of security everybody was absolutely wonderful. The place itself felt dirty and they could have used a few more areas for bathrooms, and system to hear the speakers outside was horrible. We were in the grandstand reserved and could not hear anything. I think they sang Maryland my Maryland but by the time we thought we heard it a stood up with the rest of the crowd, it was over. And then the rest of Christ oh dear wondering what happened. But I really enjoyed the races and once again I have to say that the people were absolutely fantastic.

This was not a good experience. The event staff was not well informed and had no clue how to answer simple questions (example: heres my ticket can you direct us on our location) They were obvious as to where to send us. This happened three times. The Event planner and the owners of this event charged a hefty amount for the infield tickets and made a lot of money but did nothing more that had is sit on what seem to be a poorly updated circus tent. Very disappointed

This is long, hope youll read to the end. Went for the Preakness one year. We parked at a light rail station before the track you save $35 to park at the track and took a special shuttle to the track. Didnt know it lets you out basically a. 1/2 mile from the entrance for in-field tkt holders. Once we got to the entrance, we waited in line nearly an hour. I was on a mission to see the race in person at least once (but I wont do it this way again.) Bought tickets for the in field with unlimited beer, concert, vendors, wagering and of course the races up close. You have to bring your chair-in-bag and/or blanket, no rain umbrellas allowed, wish I had known that in advance, they confiscate them. Rain was predicted so I had protection. What makes that even worst, some bum was selling the umbrellas when you left the track (I didnt see mine though.) There were a lot if rude people constantly stepping on our blanket in spite of the fact we were in a good spot giving space to others. The lines to get beer were so long I only went twice. Just before the big race, the skies opened and I could have sworn an ocean fell out it rained so hard and fast, with enough wind to blow filled trashcans around the field. It was kind of scary. Fortunately we got under the wager tent with our stuff just before it started. The walk through the tunnel back to the street was a wading adventure no one wanted to take, yuck! Riding back to the bus to the train to get our car was another adventure but at least the rain stopped. My advice, buy tickets early (Nov.), get the grandstand or VIP tickets with valet parking or at least lot parking and save yourself unless what I mentioned above is your scene. Despite the drama, we had fun and looking at the gorgeous hats and dapper short suits with bowties were a treat!
