So much fun for all ages. There was something for everyone including the baby! COVID friendly. Gave us wrist bands to go in and out as we pleased.

What an amazing and fun time! The museum was under capacity despite the hot weekend. The frequently touched surfaced had self sanitizing wrap. Multiple people were seen cleaning often throughout our visit. Everyone working there was masked and polite. Most exhibits were open. My kids had so much fun we are planning a return trip already!

My kids 10m, 3yr, 16 all loved it here everyone had something to do.

Great place to visit at the inner harbour. Entertaining for all ages. I have a membership here and everytime I return I learn new things. Talk to the people with the little breakout learning areas, they will blow your mind.

Such a cool place to go to with kids. But even for adults it has a lot to offer and the shows, the exhibition and in particular the workshops are amazing!! Where else can you extract DNA or get to know more about plastic first hand?When you are in the area and have some time, I highly recommend going there. Nice science museum with lots of hand-on activities for children, especially age 7 and up. Nice dinosaur exhibit, good space and science area, and good area for brain and human activities.Big and spacious 3 floors with plenty of room for the kids to run around. Will definitely take up a couple of hours of your time.

What a cool place for both kids and adults. I found myself playing as much as my 3 year old.We spent a lot of time in the kids room due to the school field trip. Apparently they host a lot of field trip so if you come during the weekday be mindful of that or come are 2:00 when the school groups leave.The kids room added a really cool water table.

Great place to go with kids. Lots of fun and interactive activities that even parents can enjoy while maintaining an educational atmosphere. A bit on the more expensive side, but pretty much worth it if you can stay the whole day and just grab lunch in the outside eating area which has a great view of the harbour.. Would recommend for anyone visiting or those with kids looking to entertain them for a bit while still teaching them things.

Our family loves the Maryland Science Center. We received a membership as a gift at the end of 2017. The displays are great and interactive, which keeps everyone entertained. The shows are well-done and informative. The planetarium offers a variety of informative and entertaining shows. Discounted parking options are available for members.

So much fun and entertaining when I got in here.

Ive been to the Science Center for a variety of events, such as the Solstice Gala, Wine and Dinosaurs, and Brunch on the Roof. Each has been pretty awesome. Ive not been just to go and check out what the museum has to offer, but usually the exhibits and some of the experiments are available during specialty events. Its a treat to create a paper plane and fly it through an obstacle course.

My favorite part there was the Sesame Street movie in the dome thing. my mom thought this place was bad, but i thought i was good.

The kids had a fantastic time with all the interactive exhibits, we probably spent an hour in the water table area alone! The dinosaurs were fun as always and they enjoyed playing with all the kid friendly experiments on the first floor. We upgraded to membership. So we will be back for more fun!

So, I just had my wifes surprise bday party (7/6/19) at the MSC rooftop and we could not have asked for any better venue, food, drinks or service. I had been working with Meghan, who is in charge of rentals, since October. She was the best. She helped me pick out the menu, well actually, she picked it out and I just approved it. The food she picked was fantastic. Every time I came to visit and plan for the party she was there providing advice at every turn. Not once did I feel as if I were a bother. I came so much Eddie at the front desk knew me by name and was always willing to help or get me up to the rooftop. On the day of the event Meghan, who had been with me at every turn, could not attend due to a personal engagement out of town. However, in her stead was Renita and Darrick. Darrick and Renita were the greatest. Days before the event rain was called for but Renita and Darrick reassured me we would be fine even if it rained. I even called them the day before and the day of to make a decision and they again reassured we were fine. Yes, it rained and not once did it stop our party. The entire staff (butlers, bartenders, security) worked instantly to respond to the rain. We never knew it was raining because the staff responded so fast and closed the tent walls. The rain definitely did not put a damper on our parade. Every guest told us they loved the drinks, the food, and the STAFF! I am now trying to come up with another event just to have it at the MSC rooftop because everything was amazing and yes even in the rain.So, if you are reading this to decide if you should have an event here or not, I can say with great certainty that this is where you want to have your event. You cannot beat the view, staff, service, food or drink.Meghan, Renita, Darrick and Eddie you and your crew are the best. I cant wait to work with you all again! Thank you for one of the most fun and memorable parties ever.BTW the photos with this reviews are photos my photographer took not stock photos. Great adventures and learning with the kids! My kids ranged in ages from 20-7 and all had a great time! It was truly a family day and helped teach many new things in a fun way!

Just absolutely wonderful experience for children2.5 year old had to be dragged out after 2 hours. Not only had a lot of fun but learned about electricity, building, liquid nitrogen, plumbing etc.I was sorry we had to leave because of nap time. Signed up for membership so that we could come back frequently.

Had a great time here with my daughter. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The exhibits are fun and attention grabbing. We even sat in on a show about polymers, which was very fun to watch. Of course you can always come to the IMAX theater and catch an educational movie.Food wasnt so good, so I do suggest eating before, or making food plans for afterwards.

Its great for kids, and I enjoy it as an adult. We take our kids age four through seven, and they love how everything is interactive. The place is huge, and its great for a day visit or a couple hours. I look forward to taking my little ones when theyre a little older, too. It seems best for ages 5 to 12. We enjoyed a bubble show when we went as well as the planetarium that has several different shows every day.

As a parent, I found the center lacking. It just didnt have enough depth to the diagrams and show cases. Some features looked very old and out dated. The only thing that won it over for my kids was the kids area on the third floor but other stuff, I am sorry I wasnt impressed. I think port discovery is better. Dinosaurs are not real snd never existed.

Been goin here since I was 1. It was grand then and it’s grand now. Love taking my kids here and reliving my experience from when I was a kid. The memberships are extremely inexpensive for what you get and pays for itself 10 times over. It’s a perfect outing to let your kids get energy out and learn while also learning yourself. Parents also have a golden opportunity to recharge their batteries after a tiring weekend with a planetarium nap in a cool dark room.Honestly, not sure how you can rate this place under 4 stars. Anyone who gives this place a one star must be a whole lot of fun at parties...

I took my 4 year old daughter here as part of a school field trip. We spent about 3 hours there but did not visit all the exhibits.Expect to spend 5-6 hours to enjoy the place at a reasonable pace. There are quite a lot of activities that the kids can do. There is a cafe to get lunch as well so you don’t need to leave the facility.It’s more appropriate for kids maybe 6 and up. My 4 year old did not really understand the science and was easily distracted by the next exhibit that she could touch or play with.

A great place to check out with your kids.alot of cool stuffs.I just wish the admissions are a little lower.its hard to find a parking since its in the city. We parked at the Crown gallery parking.but if you can take the train its best to take the train and get off at charles st from owings mills station.because its more cheaper that way..

A fun, modern science center. Nicely maintained, though a few exhibits are naturally off-line for repairs at any given time. The dino section was really quite something, with many of the always-popular carnivores on display. Plenty to keep the kids busy for most of the day (depending on the kids in question, of course) and probably wear them out, too. Not really cheap, but a fun place if science centers are your thing. The cafe wasnt bad, but next time I might prefer walking out to one of the other dining options in the area.

The place is always clean, and has an amazing staff. I’ve been going for about 10 years, and it’s still one of my favorite places. Fantastic atmosphere, as well as exhibits that can appeal to all ages

Our visit to the science center was the favorite of our whole trip! We showed up after lunch and it was fairly quiet even on a weekend. Our girls just loved all of the interactive exhibits. We were surprised how long we were able to spend! Almost three hours! We did a show at the planetarium too which was very informative! Our girls loved the science experiments in the science lab too. It was such a great day!

The Maryland Science Center is a beautiful museum that is great for families and students with lots of hands-on activities for children. I really enjoyed my visit here. The structure inside the museum was gorgeous, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend!!

I really enjoyed my visit here. There are lots of exhibits to enjoy, more than we could cover in an afternoon. The hands-on exhibits were clean, functional, and well-labeled with clear, concise explanations. We didnt encounter any that didnt work...nice! The staff was pleasant and helpful, and the planetarium show was well-done. If I had kids and lived nearby, I would definitely look into a membership.

Went here once as a student and really found the programs they offered to be of good quality.

Our family had a great time exploring the Maryland Science Center and found all kids were kept occupied from ages 6 to 14. The bed of nails attraction where one was literally lifted into the air on a bed of nails was the family favorite. Kids als enjoyed the many interactive exhibits and extracting DNA experiment. Staff was pleasant and happy to answer questions. Buying a membership saved our family quite a bit and we are excited to use it at other science and historical centers throughout the US.

Our whole family loves the Science Center! We bought the membership and go frequently, and we have attended several of the special events/activities which have all been really great. Our favorite so far is the Galaxy Donut Workshop. We made donuts, then made galaxy jars while we waited for the donuts to bake/cool, then made the galaxy glaze and glazed our donuts. Kids and adults both had a blast.

Not worth the money, I wouldn’t pay half of what their charging. People let their children run loose, the staff isn’t helpful or keep up the place, and years ago it used to have deals which now no longer exists. So sad to see this place go down hill...

So much to do here! The exhibits and attractions for this place is beyond a person’s excitement. One time when I was there, an associate conducted an experiment where he lit foam on fire. While it does not have any living creatures to showcase, the standards for science exploration and education is a little better than the aquarium.

So happy I was able to come visit after 10 years, a bit sad I didnt see any live blue crabs anymore but thats okay the rest of the museum is fantastic, especially for children. The interaction is just incredible. The paper airplane exhibition was such a sweet addition! I forgot just how much fun they can be to make and play with! Also turn your phone off before entering....you dont need that to detract you from the aqesomeness...seriously why cant El Paso,Tx have things like this.

Went with 2 under 2. We and they loved it! Plenty to do, touch, learn. Kids Zone fantastic, but whole place great. Friendly staff. Only con was inclusion of Elmo in planetarium.

I highly recommend you plan your trip and make the science center visit work for you according to the ages of the participants in your group. Decide if you want to view the IMAX movie or participate in an experiment or if it would make your group happier to simply explore each of the floors and interactive stations. The science center can become very crowded with large groups so also consider visiting during off-peak times. I recently visited with our school and first grade classes and they seemed to really like the bed of nails, the dinosaur exhibits, and the interactive stops along the way when museum staff would lead them through a concept. The science center staff was wonderful with the students and truly knew how to provide age appropriate content.

Great science museum right on the Inner Harbor. We were members for several years, but the final year of our membership was not honored, resulting in us being rudely turned away. I tried calling to sort the issue out, but was told they had no record of us ever having a membership. It’s unfortunate because we really enjoyed visiting and learning, but now opt to visit other museums.

On New Years Eve, we put our names on the wait list for the science lab and in 2 mins flat we were called for a table. Upon entering the lab another family walks up and asks if they could move to the table we had been called to. Evelyn agrees to give the table to the other family without any consideration to my family who had been called into the lab. I ask what just happened and Evelyn tells me they overbooked... I ask a series of other questions and she continues to stick to “we overbooked”. So, then we were just left standing around until another table opens up. Imagine, I have 4 tweens who are excited to sit down, but can’t... Why was our table given away rather then have the other family wait?

Really good place to spend time with family! There are many things for kids activities.

The exhibits were very nice and hands-on, and its a good place to bring children. The dinosaur exhibit is especially interesting. However, there were many children today, and they sometimes interfered with the hands-on activities. This made it a little hard to enjoy the exhibits. However, I will still come back.

I recently visited with my 10 year old son, and was very disappointed what the experience. We entered the center and went to the desk to purchase tickets and was greeted or should I say lack of greeted by the employee at the desk . We both said hello and she didnt even look or have any response very disrespectful, we got tickets and there where no even collected scanned or looked out by any of the other employers through out the exhibit. When I contacted the center there response was it a self guided center, so does that mean people dont have to be rude or disrespectful . My son who has an interest in science was just upset about the whole incident that we went through some exhibits and left.

Great show but once it starts they should not let late people in. It disrupts the experience

The Maryland Science Center was extremely entertaining and interactive for an adult. I was lucky enough to enjoy the Dollar Day in December (yes, just $1.00 to visit this super cool place) when I visited the harbor with friends. My only suggestion to the MD Science center is please advertise your events on the Visit Baltimore page. This is an awesome place with many free events (like every Friday Night Stargazing) and a great way to get your inner kid out!

Another unexpected highlight was the individual carts that were in different sections that had experiments and things to show the kids. Was very nice because there was not much of a crowd. Ate lunch at the center and food was ok. They also had a coat check, which would have been nice to know before. Almost all of the areas were hands on exhibits, which is excellent for kids! Would highly recommend and will definitely be going again.

We miss this place️️️ We will be back when the pandemic has ended.

I contacted the center long before our trip, asking if it was a good place for a 2 year old. I was told of the kids room, and that the other exhibits were also all hands on. Well, I would not suggest this center if youre only taking a 2 year old. We stayed less than an hour, and then decided to leave. It was a waste of $50 some bucks for sure (for the two adult tickets.) Im sure if you have kids older, say around 7 and up itd be good, but not great for toddlers. Plus there were school field trips when we went, and the place was a mad house. Totally disappointed.

Visited this place with 2 grandkids (3 years old and 18 months) today August 14, 2018. They had a blast! So much great stuff to do. They loved a Sesame street show at the planetarium. We spent 3 hours and kids didnt want to leave. Highly recommended!

Excellent museum! We stopped for a quick visit on our way through Baltimore on a road trip because we get in free with our membership to our local science museum. We enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit, as well as a number of interactive displays/activities with museum staff. We also had a great time at the planetarium show. Our favorite part was the science experiment station we discovered near the body exhibit. The projects were perfect for my 9 year old who loves science, and craves a more hands-on experience. The museum staff member there was wonderful and went above and beyond by allowing my 6 year old to watch, and then engaged her when she lost interest. Finally, both kids found things they love in the museum store, which was not overpriced like most museum stores. We could have easily spent another hour exploring.

Dated, dull, expensive. Covers the bases, like bones, pendulums, etc, but the whole feel is a little lethargic.

The Museum had lots of things to do and kept my 8 year old occupied the whole time. He really liked doing science lab experiments the most.

The Maryland Science Center is marvelous museum that is great for families and students. Its located in the Inner Harbor and is also 4-blocks away from The Charmtastic Mile of Baltimore. They have great exhibits The Dinosaur exhibit is extraordinary and a exciting thing to see. There is a number of good restaurants to choose from.

Great place to spend the day learning about how stuff works

I went here for a school science trip and this was going to be the last field trip of the whole school year. They have really cool experiments for students and visitors to do, awesome exhibits like the nail bed, and other things that you can play with. This is a place that I would recommend going to if you are visiting Baltimore.

We always love coming to the Maryland Science Center. Kids and adults have a great time. Lots of fun activities. The kids always start talking about past exhibits they have seen and cant wait to experience them again.

My kids loved spending the day at MSC. The exhibits were educational and interactive, and there were many fun activities.

I went to the science center because of a field trip (was free). It is very interesting, Id say. I just am not really interested in science. The views, however, were great, and to be honest I just wanted to come to eat the food. . The food was good though. Im adding another star because they had soy milk. Thanks!! I wasnt really understanding of the movie because I dont really know about the subject though.

The place is not nearly as big as it looks from the outside--its about a tenth the size of the Museum of Science in Boston, which I encourage you to travel to instead. The dinosaur exhibit is tiny and contains very few bones or fossils, and the electricity exhibit doesnt even have one of those electricity balls. There is some interactive stuff for kids if youre merely coming here to let them run loose, but if your looking for more--and esspecially if youre not coming here with children--do not bother... Its definitely not worth the $25 adult admission.

Science exhibits were good but dated. The main downside is that the individuals working the exhibits didnt care and were more interested in their phones. Also during this visit, my credit card information was stolen by one of the employees. Id choose another science museum before attending this one.

This had been a fun and edicational place to go for 3 generations of my family. There is stuff accessible to all ages and well as some areas dedicated to younger ages or others to specific older youth groups. Even adults can learn somethinf new!

This place is great! It is clean, staff is very friendly, and there are tons of events to do throughout the year.Memberships are worth the spend, especially since it takes about two, maybe three, days to really enjoy all the exhibits that are around.We have been to laser events, New years events, and several others this year. Each time the kids really enjoy theirselves and love teaching their friends when they tag along.Overall, if you want a great place for kids to learn with hands on experience, then this is the place to go!
