Amazingly beautiful conservatory nestled in Baltimore! The landscape is incredible with its open greenery, complimented by its array of beautiful flowers scattered neatly across its grounds. It is a haven for a quaint outing with a loved one or family. There is plenty of room to roam and is pet friendly. Parking is roadside, but is plentiful. Come, spend the day lounging, taking photographs or exercising...no matter the activity, you will not be disappointed.

This is the best kept secret in Baltimore. It small but has a great collection of plants from different climates. The orchid room is neat. My favorite is always the desert plant room. There is a suggested donation of $5.00. Dont forget to buy some food for the fishes and turtle for 25 cents. Parking is easy - right in front in the street.

The Rawlings Conservatory is one of the nicest places and all of the city of Baltimore. The oldest part dates back to the 1800s but it is the Perfect Blend of old and new and everything is in first class shape. It has a wonderful selection of trees and bushes, cactus, orchids, palms, coconuts, bananas and so much more. The whole place is very family and children friendly and it has clean modern restrooms. The staff is about as nice as they could possibly be. I highly recommend this for an outing. They also rent the place out for special events and it would be magnificent.

The Rawlings Conservatory is not huge but is quite unique. They have a few different rooms and environments, ranging from desert to tropical to an orchid room. Free to enter but $5 suggested donation. Its slightly out of the way, but its great to go if youre in the area.

Great building. Take your time and look at each plant individually and not as a room full of plants. My daughter enjoyed feeding the goldfish the most and smelling the flowers. The heat in some of the rooms made us feel like we were somewhere exotic:-)

They had their spring show during our visit. Full blooms everywhere. The woman that welcomed us gave us a quick history of the conservatory and a map. There is a suggested $5 donation. The great thing is they take cash, make change or can charge a card. Parking was ample, no meters, right outside the conservatory. Lastly, I was so happy they had a small area of plants for purchase. I did pick up 2 additional plants to add to my family.

My husband took me here for Valentine’s Day and this was our first time visiting the conservatory and botanic gardens. There is no required admission fee, but since this facility is funded and owned by Baltimore county they suggest and greatly appreciate a $5 donation per person. That is extremely worth it for what you see in the facility! We were very surprised by the variety of plant species, especially the different types of orchids that were in the orchid room! I couldn’t even count all the types of orchids! There was even a banana tree which surprised me. They have a gift shop where they sell different books about plants, planters, accessories, and starter plants that the staff have grown from the plants in the gardens. I purchased a Weeping Fig in a 6 inch pot and it costed $8 which is very affordable and reasonably priced. I purchased a separate blue ceramic pot to put it in and it looks gorgeous! I definitely recommend plant enthusiasts, like myself, to stop in and enjoy this beautiful and peaceful place.

Gorgeous historic and free (with suggested donation) space for calm visiting and fun sensory reset. An important landmark for Baltimore to have and should be visited and supported frequently! Great for creative and calm kids who like to explore or artists for en plein air sketching or small painting. The relatively small but surprising conservatory features five themed rooms - Mediterranean, Tropical, Desert, Orchid room and Victorian Palm House which all together makes for a varied experience as you wind through from one to the next. When we went a lot of their citrus trees and orchids were blooming and or ladden with fruit so the whole place smelled fantastic. A great place to regroup, take in beauty and learn about the world. Certain plants have numbers you can dial on your phone to learn more about them. Hosts additional programs and activities too.

In awe of this beautiful place. My boyfriend and I visit very often. We collect cacti and succulents and they often sell a few potted cuttings. The staff is wonderful. They’re very knowledgeable and clearly love what they do. We never get tired of looking at some of these very old and large plants. Different plants are in bloom at different times. We see something different every time we go. I also love to feed the koi. I often see people reading on the benches and what a great place to do so! This is a great place for photos, somewhere to calm down after a crazy week, a place to learn, something to do when you don’t have much money but want to get out of the house for an adventure.

My only complaint was how many people were stationed in the orchid room with tripods. It made it hard to even get through or see the orchids. I think it would be appropriate to charge a fee for photographers and limit their time so that spectators are able to enjoy the experience as well.

It is free (you can leave a donation which Id recommend) and you get to see so much. They also sell plants at a pretty good price. When my wife and I walked in we were greeted by James and he absolutely loves his job and loved welcoming us and answering our questions. The workers were all very friendly. This is a great way to spend a couple hours exploring in and around the building.
