Interesting little park. Originally found it while exploring with Pokemon Go-Id liked next to it my whole life but never knew it was there. It looks like some good community events happen there, since theres a pavilion and seating in the form of logs driven into the ground. There is a really nice forest trail to wander through as well.

We visited here for one of the nature programs for preschoolers. The program was nice, and we staying to walk the nature trails and eat lunch. The trails are paved, so they are stroller and wheelchair friendly. There are a few that cut through various areas. Not a big area, so good for young children. Nice urban nature center.

The park is beautiful and free, with a pond and some nature trails through the woods. They have low-cost community events regularly. Many are kid friendly, but some are fun adult-only nights.

Small tucked away park in Overlea, a quiet location enjoyed by locals. I used to skip high school and hang out here sometimes.Peaceful park with a pond, a recreation center for kids (which Ive never seen anybody at personally) and a slightly organized trail to run or walk....but youre not gonna get lost here.Wish they had more events up here, or a community fire...something.

This is still my go to park. I dont enjoy wandering around as much as I did because of increased safety issues. The park manager is very strict about about small dogs not off leash and rightly so ... but the large ones? they get a pass. Pretty much every afternoon about 1pm I see the same dog running around as the woman in charge just watches. My suggestion ... I always scope the park out from from the parking lot, always carry pepper spray or something that can be used as defense and never go back on those trails.Id describe it as a big-little park. Size wise its kind of small. When you figure in the woodland trails, the pond, the log cabins, arboreteum and that it has its own parking lot, it seems kinda large. Theres no playground or sports field. I do see kids playing, riding bikes and such.

It may not have a playground, but there are plenty of other things for kids to do and have fun here. There are ruins of an old stone house, along with others still standing. A gazebo, and stage area. A pond running into a stream. And a hiking trail that has several bridges over rain runoff water beds. They do movies in the park during the summer, and regularly hold childrens events. There is even a grave site for one of the family members that the park gets its name from.
