The best bourbon chicken in Baltimore!!! They sell a Lil of everything. They r going threw construction remodeling but r still open. Try the all natural fruit smothy they r 2 die!!!#Bsafe
I was visiting Baltimore MD for our family reunion, I had to check out Lexington Market. They offer a variety of eatings from doughnuts to crab cakes. 10 chicken wings $12. They are $2 more expensive than New York! It is evident that the chicken has been cooked long in advanced, Im still trying to describe the skin of the chicken.
We Left Bmore years ago. While we were living there we always went to Lexington Market to eat! I always got the cheese steak!!!!! There was so much to choose from. It had its spots that could use renovations and extra cleaning but the food was always good! Is it true they closed them down for good ?
Lexington Market is a place of its own little world there. But I do love those smoothies and the crabs they have there and the cakes so all-in-all I think its a decent place. But be careful you might get robbed by them young punks
My husband and I were warned to be vigilant when in the market. There were about 15 stands open. It is not safe. No vegetables for sale. Nothing like Reading Terminal.
Seafood so fresh, I’m from the midwest, and I eat at some great places, however!, this was like none other.
All kinds of produce, meats, poultry, delis, seafood and fish and bakerys. This Lexington Market has everything
Very scary. Go to a real grocery store if you want safety and a good selection. The market is dangerous even for downtown Baltimore.
I love my city the food and site seeing inside of lexighton marker
The food here is the reason this place remains a legendary staple in Baltimores history! Its not much i can say that jasnt alreasy been said. The oysters i had were great. The carved turkey sandwiches i had were fresh. Ghe donits i had from the bakery were incredible. Yhe chicken was nostalgic. Even the dancing potato i had was immaculate. The only reason they get 4 stars is because the parking isnt geeat at all. And the folks begging me for change walking in and out of here ruin the aesthetic!
Your place for Korean Soul food. I mean the vendors are largely Korean, but the food is every kind of comfort food. There are 2 places selling only roasted and smoked Turkey. Every cut of meat you ever heard of, both raw and cooked. 4 vegetable/fruit stands. You can search for Andrew Zimmers visit on the Travel Channel. Many fish/seafood places. I always buy too much.
Lexington Market is Baltimore history. For that reason it is always worth a visit. Lots of food, unique vendors that are exclusive to the market. The negative has more to do with the overall challenge of the area. It isnt thriving at the moment but the city has some big plans for redoing the market and hopefully drawing more business to that area.
On the one, hand youll enjoy the local color of Baltimore just as I did over 30-40 years ago. Lexington Market, and other smaller scale market venues show real pride. The same traditional spots like Parks Fried Chicken, Faidleys Crab Cakes,Muhlys Bakery, liquor, wine and beer venues, and so much more.On the other hand, youll need to be cautious. Watch your wallet or purse. Watch anywhere youre in West Baltimore..but enjoy !
Small crowd but this place was lit! They were playing loud club music, people were dancing. I just wanted food so I got meat loaf mac n cheese and yams. They gave me enough for another meal. Also stopped at the cookie store for some snickerdoodles. There was this crazy dude on the light rail yelling at a white girl for no reason you listen to country music - communist and I felt the need to mention that?.
There are some really good affordable food and grocery options in the market. But it is not a place one should hang out for too long and you should be very careful outside. Also, do not go alone. The surrounding area is very dystopian and reminds me of the clips of NYC when it was going bankrupt. It is getting renovated and cleaned now so im not sure what parts now remain. They probably kept faidleys
The food is simply the best!!! Adding to the fact that youll get a lot of food for your buck the platters are so stuffed they can hardly close them... So go and see for yourself, you will truly be amazed... Enjoy
Great to have had the chance to see it. Nothing majorly special other than getting the opportunity to experience the best crab cake in Baltimore.
Ill give this place five stars because I really have faith that they will rebuild EVERYTHING at downtown Baltimore its a a hot mess now every thing is shut down even rite aid they really need to rebuild that place and fix downtown like it used to be
Great place, lot of diverse food options. Friendly but just atmosphere. Could stand some decor updating but other than that it gets the job done for a marketplace.
First time being at the Lexington market, we went right when they opened. Not a lot of people were there. The whole place needs to be cleaned. We had smoothies that were good. Everyone was friendly. But parking was horrible to figure out how to get out of the parking lot and pay. Locals had to help tell us what to do with the chip. We wont go back.
A bit rundown, but cool because of that you get to see the history here. I was glad I got to visit it! It’s a bit sketchy, and there are cops crawling around the place. But I had a pretty cool urban experience, nonetheless! I definitely recommend Faidley’s!
I was there on a Saturday, so it was busy. The food I had was good, but more expensive than I expected. Some friends and I were there to grab lunch. The space was pretty big, but not as clean or updated as expected. This was my first time going there, it will probably be awhile before I return there again. Construction outside was a mess. Parking was difficult to find.
Had the best crab cake ever. This place was recommend to me. Wow! Got to try them
Best food in Baltimore. Enjoy Baltimore the way it should be. Stop in shop for tobacco, gifts, clothing, and then grab lunch. You wont be disappointed. Construction nearby shows the area is still growing after over a century.
Came in from out of town and was excited to check it out. What a dump. Addicts all over begging for money. Cleanliness is definitely questionable. Would not recommend at all. Its in the hood.
Be prepared to come with police escort, full of addicts. Daytime not very safe either.
I had a ball at Lexington Market! Its literally a market that sells a lot of uncooked (raw) meats and seafood. They also sell fruit, vitamins, a lot of cooked food that was delicious ! I went on the weekend a Saturday to be exact it was a live band performing and people dancing! They do have a parking lot on site but it was overly crowded so I parked in the parking lot across the street if it wasnt for the parking I would have gave them five stars!
Fancy market, super expensive, but fresh items, and have things that are not available in other markets.
Fascinating place with a variety of stands serving up everything from cupcakes to fresh fish, Jamaican food to Chinese food and corned beef. Theres also a true market aspect, with some fruit & vegetable stands. Reminds me of markets in France & Spain.
The southern cooking at vendors is good. Ive also tried oxtails with rice and cabbage at another vendor. I suggest you look around first before making a food purchase because you want the best prepared food.
I had the LUMP crab cake platter, it was pretty pricey for just 1 crabcake but totally worth it! Not much filler and just straight MEAT!!! It was delicious.
Live this gritty, little market. And dont forget the start of the show, Faidleys crab cakes. Everyone is always nice and extremely pleasant. Cant wait to visit again.
The best crab cake Ive ever had. Quick service and friendly staff
Loved the atmosphere inside the market. A plethora of food choices. Its almost sensory overload. Whatever you are hungry for..this place has it. I would have given it a higher rating but the area of town it sits in may be safe, but doesnt feel safe.
Love there fd and priceSee ppl u havent seen and awhile i stop threw every month and grab my meat packages
Lexington Market is a thriving central market of deli, fruits and veg, fish, meat and local take out food. Everything there has good prices and very fresh. Go. The neighborhood is a rough one, but I have both walked there from a hotel in the morning for breakfast as well as driven and parked in the pay lot next to the market. It is a great place to learn about Baltimore culture like the three clams on the half shell and a beer at one of the vendor stands. Everyone just stands around, has a few clams and beer, and then heads home on the bus with groceries. Who knew unless you go there. Baltimore is evidently really well known for their Jewish corned beef. It is much milder than its NY cousin. The fresh corned beef sandwiches and shrimp salad at the Mary Marvins is not to be missed. Note, however, that in Baltimore Rubin sandwiches are not grilled. FRESH MEAT: GO TO THE BOOTH CALLED AMOS MEATS. I go to their stand every time I am in Baltimore and love their quality, freshness and friendliness. There is often no way to tell apart stand from stand in markets like this. I have been going there several times a year for going on 5 years. buy your meat at AMOS MEATS and tell them you saw Karens review. I told them I would post this when I was there last.
And absolutely excellent well known world famous eating location for everyone world renowned for its crabs and shrimp and fish. They have food stalls and a variety of vendors, lots of good food choices.Theres a large food court with plenty of tables to rest and relax and enjoy your meals a nice place for the family to come and dine out in a warm enjoyable atmosphere customer service at these different stalls is excellent and all the food is always good.
I love this market. Best market in the world.
Rough hood but found what I went for.
Excellent food location very unsavory I will definitely recommend the ride there even though its long the food was. Worth it!
IT OPENS WHEN I GOOGLED IT ....IT SAID THAT IT WAS CLOSE...
This was my fav place to bisit for food fried chicken & king crab but now i dont care for it.. The area seems very sketchy.. Lots of homeless people & drug dealers hanging around all over the place.. I lost my appetite before I was able To figure out what I wanted to eat. Most of the staff at this place were extremely rude with a hurry up & buy attitude. This place could use a deep cleaning & some clearing out..
M.A.N!! TRYN!! TELL!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall!! itz!! MY!! H.O.M.E!! @W@Y!! FROM!! H.O.M.E!! GOOD!!GOOD!! QUiZEAN!! diggit!!
I go to the market occasionally, looking for some fresh steak fish. They have good supply there. The trout were huge. I also like how they sell fruit salads and sandwiches too. They even have a couple bakerys. It a good place to eat upstairs.
Nice place to go Asian food. A if you are a frequent flyer, check them all out some are better than others.
Nice place to go to on weekend
Love coming here. I see a lot of remodeling taking place. Some of my favorite places are now closed. Hopefully theyll come back bigger and better.
Dont park in the parking garage. Parking cost is o to 1 hour 4 dollars. We played the 4 dollars and only stayed for 10 minutes. When we tried to leave the parking garage we had to pay an additional 4 dollars. The market is disgusting and dirty. The food smells cheap. I will never go back. Oh while walking to the market we almost stepped in human feces. There is a lot of homelessness in the area.
First time being at the Lexington market. It was great meats from butcher. The people that served in the markets was pleasant. Its something to do on a Saturday and I tried some smoothie and very tasty.
It is not what it used to be. It was barren, lacked patrons and many of the vendors have left. There used to be a time when this place was packed with wall to wall people. You sometimes had to park blocks away to get to the market. The lightning was dim ( because of the lack of vendors). I’m hoping that this market is not a dying breed. I know that a lot of people are able to shop within their own neighborhoods. Many people probably Don’t shop there because of the possible harassment from boosters, homeless and drug addicted. There wasn’t a security presence there at all.
I love this place! Regardless of what people may say I love being there. It has so much history and the different types of food are awesome. It’s a place for something for everybody
I Love Lexington Market, My Mom Used to Take Me Every Saturday When I Was a Child!!! and Its Still My Favorite PLACE
While it has the best food and fresh produce the visitors that generally hang their are usually people from addiction programs. I suggest if you want to visit this place that you come in walk around find what you want buy it and then leave. Dont walk around with money in your hand. And always be aware of your surroundings. Yes there is security there but they only can do so much because there are only a few on shift at a time.
Accidentally found myself in this place. Its a hood open food court but I loved it.... Friday oysters shucked on the spot.. served on paper plates but oh well.. The fried chicken was killer... Fresh fruits on veggies...oh my.
Amazing place! A must visit. Lump crab cake at Findlays! Over 1,000 stalls. Simply amazing.
The food was fantastic!! But be careful of pick pockets....
Tons of local shops and great eats! Not the cleanest chop in town but you gotta get to truly the city like the locals. Phenomenal chicken for the price!
Its an interesting place. Almost a one stop shop. I like the variety of stores. The fish markets were great. Fresh Seafood on ice.
It’s just a cool, fun, and historic place! Good selection of food that is good and reasonably priced. Enjoyed it
Unfortunately, the Market is closed on Sunday. Will go back one day.
Food, food, and more food. Meats, Veggies, Fruits, etc. This is the place to go.Years later and it is still going strong.I had fried chicken wings, potato fries, bread, and drink. The food is excellent and the price is Great as well. Come on down to the Worlds Famous Lexington Market.
Was at the market with a friend just got some chicken it was tasty. Was at the market today got some sandwiches and 2 slices of cake will be going back soon. Went to the market today and got just what I wanted. Havent been in a while but do love the chicken salad sandwich from Mary Mervis will definitely get back before summer ends
I have shopped at Lexington Market all my life. No matter how many other neighborhood markets may have been more convenient, I always find a reason to go to Lexington Market. I trust it to provide fresh meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, great seafood and specialties. I love it ! Especially at holidays.
Great variety of vendors!!! Many kinds of food and cooked very fresh with local artists to enjoy and support. Youll want to go back again soon
Visited Total Health foods. They were so much help. Always has a smile.
Tourist no go. Scary... like Zombieland scary. (And Im from Cincinnati, so urban areas arent an issue...) 90% of the booths were closed up at lunch time, including Fadleys (we went for the famous crab cake). Wreaked of weed and full people just hanging around (not in a good way). So much potential being close to convention center area.
Enter in that area at your own risk. Pill city & the walking died inside & outside pretty much all the Stalls have been closed down the ones that are open no longer accept EBT not everyone have cash like that to spend
My favorite place to order cakes from!!!! Friendly & accommodating staff, endless options for cake themes & designs... and the best buttercream icing Ive ever had.
Delicious lumpcake! Cucumber salad great too! Collards needed some sugar though.
Clean comfortable room. Breakfast, no milk for cereal, no waffle mix for waffles, no hot water for tea or oatmeal??? The property should not offer breakfast if that is their offering.
Great place to shop for all kinds of foods. Home to Faidleys Seafood, home of the BEST Crab Cake in the universe!
Cool place with plenty of fresh meats. It is in a bad area though. Walking from my car to the market I saw about 12 people (men and women) in a street brawl. About 100ft from the door
Im really disappointed with Lexington market. This place is one of Baltimore historic land mark but now is known for a spot where you can get anything and I mean ANYTHING! The food is still the best. Its sad that Lexington market is now drug infested.
The service was very good. Remember this is Lexington market. The food was hot when I received it, and although many people say its the best crabcake The have had. I tend to disagree. I have had better. Dont get me wrong, its very good. But best in Baltimore, I dont think so.
I love it here. They always have something good to it. I guess thats why there world famous
Not having read any reviews I walked over and found the market to be run down, seedy, but nonetheless interesting and worthwhile if you’re there to visit Baltimore and not an upscale yuppie market. There was a really good jazz/blues group while I was there and the vibe was of a neighborhood joint for local people. I did not feel it was dangerous but I also was not attracted to most of the vendors which serve a lot of fried food. As I was on my way back to NYC I bought some uncooked crab cakes to go which were wrapped up with an ice pack and instructions. So, I am not sorry I went and would not dissuade people from going as long as you adjust your expectations. This is not Whole Foods.
It was better years ago. Just plain unsatisfactory when it comes to sanitation. Filthy in some spots. Food choices are second to none. But I question the safety of consuming food there.
I love Lexington Market Ive been going to Lexington Market since I was a little kid when they had the peanut stand outside and you can smell the peanuts roasting thats right they do have the peanut stand outside I think it still and it just makes you want to go up in the air and the fish smell in the poop smell and all the people I love Lexington Market I love love Lexington Market all the vendors and get some good deals and some of the people are really nice you know they keep her in a lot of the drug addicts out of there and I know thats kind of hard because they have to shop to otherwise I love Mexican market
I admit last time I was there was 50 years ago.Food and produce were fantastic, other gift items too.It was always a wonderful experience. A whole day at a market that is absolutely huge. Not enough time to see it all.And not enough appetite to sample it all.Hope they can improve the neighborhood. It was shabby even then, but definitely not as bad as now.Baltimore itself has slipped terribly. Not the fault of the market that officials dont do their job and police the area properly. But other large cities have similar problems.Dont blame the market. Blame the officials and dont forget the parents who did a lousy job of raising their kids.
I truly enjoyed the Turkey stall and Angies stall! Very orderly and just a pleasant experience!
Love this market and its old world feel. Wish more people visited and they cleaned it up a bit in terms of the building condition. SO much potential... i hope the slated renovation doesnt change the businesses and atmosphere... dont want the charm or locals to disappear!
Great intersection of different foods and drinks. A great place to visit if youre from ot of town.
You cant go wrong with a stop at Lexington Market. All of the different tastes of Baltimore Cuisines. The Cultural experience alone is wonderful. Whenever youre here, a stop at Lexington Market is a MUST!
If you are looking for a blue collar place to eat with a huge assortment of vendors and types of food this is a great one to try. Neighborhood might be a little tough but its a pretty neat place and you have a whole second story to sit and eat at. This is the kind of place that suits me just fine. Ive been here about 10 times over the last 15 years and will come back anytime Im in the area and can fit it in.
I enjoy going to Lexington Market. There is always good, fresh foods there. And I always run into someone I havent seen for years.
Lexington market gets a bad rap but i love it. There are so many fresh cooked and baked goods to chose from. I love getting snowballs. Begers devils food cake is the absolute best. If you try nothing else get this cake; if youre a chocolate lover, get this cake; just because its Monday, get this cake!
I always love to get the chance to stop by the market, I came from fells point just to get lunch. I love it
A multitude of eateries, various ethnic and cultural options, low prices, fresh produce. Every time I go back, I find something new and tastier than last visit. I just follow the old heads and see where the best deals and meals are. There are now a few good reasons to return for lunch/snack/dinner and many more stalls to explore.
Great market! Wonderful seafood OMG! The crabcakes are delicious! I was in and out in minutes.. will visit again soon!
Took a trip to Lexington market was ok faidleys seafood was the best so glad I stopped for some oysters and crab cakes
I just go to get fresh fish when Im in the area. There is nothing else you need to get from there. Really just dont do it.
Great variety. Lots of choices in this pot luck stew of vendors. Seafood, produce, and baked goods. Dont forget the deli and soul food.
A must go for the famous Faidleys crab cake. They are expensive but worth it. There isnt any place to sit at Faidleys but you can walk to a seating area to the side of the market. We enjoyed walking around the stands and trying some fried chicken necks. While we were there many police officers were present. Everyone was friendly.
I havent been here in a while. Its always fun to make a trip, but its a little gross being around all the addicts falling asleep at the tables.
That seafood will get you laid.
People jump out at you in the streets and wont move out of the way, some restaurants are good some arent just need to keep an eye on how your food is handled
Food is delicious, atmosphere is scary.
