Great park! Really huge! Giving it 4 stars for 1 small reason, stairway for climbing onto a rock structure was in bad shape, so you had to be super careful! Still a wonderful view! Also the path was overgrown, but since you’re here for the greenery, i’m fully okay with this. I had a really great time here! As you can see it’s perfect for anyone of any age!! One of the best views in Athens. You can see East state street in some areas and the university in others. Great time!
Nice little used trails right on the ridge in Athens proper.
Nice set of trails of different lengths with plenty of pawpaw grovesThe lookout trail leads to an interesting view of East State Street from a rocky outcropping
My favorite way to hike into Strouds run park! Tons of trails, not a lot of park and just a few parking spaces!
Quiet, shady. Lovely pond, access to forested trails. Benches and picnic tables dot the park. No restroom facilities.
Had a blast with my son and grand daughters...beautiful lots to do
This was my childhood park.it has many trails, beautiful rock formations and some awesome flowers
Fun hike that goes in a circle so you dont have to back track.
We hiked there a couple of weeks ago, small park. We are avid hikers so; It was a nice quick hike. The only thing is they could do a little better in the map explaining which hikes and whereabouts. All and all a nice quick hike!!
Great park in town, easy walking distance for townies.
Great trails. Very beautiful.
A fun place with different types of trail/terrains. Well maintained, could use a restroom at the trailhead.
Great park for a hike!
Small parking area a few picinic tables. Nice trails that Im told go pretty far. Shady and sun. I give it a 4+ only because of the very small parking lot.
Got backed into once and another day had some angry dude try to gain access to my vehicle while I was inside reading... Be alert and be aware.
What a great little spot right on the edge of town. So close. This is the gateway to the whole trail system that gets you out to the lake and beyond. If you are into mountain biking this is where you would start to access the trail system. It also has a bunch of walking trails and a short hike to a lookout. Can be wet and muddy. Lots of shade
Awesome place to just relax and catch a beautiful few. Love this place, worth a stop for sure
Small little park in Athens in a quiet neighborhood.
Great trails. A lot of incline, for a great workout
Nice new paved trail for handicapped or walking challenged people like me. Wish they would have more!
Favorite place for hiking in the area. Quiet, not too many people, but not isolated
This isnt a park in terms of a picnic area and playground, but there are already places for that. There is a pond of stagnant water at the top of the hill if that is your thing. The parking lot is tiny, and the spaces that are there tend to be occupied by people who just dont know how to park correctly. There is neighborhood street parking if you are comfortable parking in front of someones home. The real beauty of the park is that it is right in town and connects to a lot of hiking and mountain biking trails. Look up the Athens Trail and Strouds Run network for a nice trail map which covers the park and the connected and much larger Strouds Run state park. Most of the trails are configured as loops and have connectors between them. There are lot of miles here to explore that include mountains, rock formations, streams, and a sizable lake.
Nice relaxing park or great place to hike
Relaxing place!
Rock house!
Lots of hiking. Can look over Athens from the rocks. Sit by the Pond. Or Hike trails to Strouds Run.
Awesome park! Great for hiking and I cant wait to come back with my MTB. For riding Id rank these trails as more technical than most others in Ohio. The rocks and roots are ample, the pitches are steep and the distances great.
Before I say anything else let me just say this right off the bat. If you are here for mountain biking, this is the downhill end. Find the uphill side first. Secondly Im a 210 lb 5 foot 7 out of shape white guy who hasnt ridden since the birth of my first child 9 years ago. This was not the trail for me. it is fairly technical, very muddy, all uphill, and narrow. It is one-lane with sight lines of maybe 20 to 25 ft, often less. There were several places where the combination of mud and incline made it all I could do to even get off and push the bike the next 15 ft. There was one place that if you come down hill a little too fast not knowing whats ahead, you will die. This day, following the example of Blackbeard the pirate, I did wear my red shirt unfortunately I forgot the brown pants. I was here on a sunny day at the end of May under a cloudless blue sky about 73° there had been a fair amount of rain about 36 hours before and the trail was still very muddy. I got here at 10 on a Thursday morning and it was deserted but by the time I left at 11 there were several people on the trail. I give it a six out of ten will bring a new pair of underwear next time.
Beautiful hidden gem! Makes me a little sad that some of the hill top views are of state street but still would highly recommend.
Absolutely gorgeous hike!!!!
Ive been going there since I was a child.Great place to walk the dog! Hiking is pretty technical.PEACEFUL PLACE
A beautiful little park, the trails are gorgeous with rocks, caves and a few seasonal waterfalls
Its a great place to hike or mountain bike around with great views and some rock formations. Only gave it 3 stars because there is definitely a better place 30 minutes up the road but this place is very close to where im at so its more convenient to just swing by even if its only for a half hour walk and enjoy a coffee while on east state st. Great place for sure if u like hiking or just enjoy being outdoors.
Very clean and nice park.
Beautiful park, if youre gonna roll a blunt here, please clean up after yourself and stop graffiting the bench tables you monsters.
Hilly park but fun trail running
Great Park and the trails connect with Strouds Run State Park for some great hiking or mountain biking. Check with Athens Bicycle for maps and best loops.
Wonderful hiking trails with unique rock formations. Dog friendly. Good for biking
Great for trail running! Not much else to do there though
Found this gem recently while visiting athens. Would definitely go again

Family oriented. Nice place to walk around
Great little city park, nice hiking trail.
Muddy but fun.
Wow!
Great place to go for some quite relaxation in baskets by the big pond or go exploring the numerous trails.
Great local park for hiking and mtb trails, good views of the Athens E. State St area from some spots on the trails.
Stunning view. It does get slippery in the winter, but it is a great destination to travel to
Great place to hike, walk or run! Easy to see trail markings and lots of trails.
Great otside adventure and close to home
Has some nice quick trails and the potential for some long hikes as well.
The parking lot is very small and you might have to find some where else to park or just come back later
Great place.
