Land of Lights was a family affair that has been made tradition with us. It was so beautiful! Seeing happy faces, kids singing and smiling with excitement and fascination was very good for us. It was magical! Im sure we will go back again this season and hopefully years to come. Merry Christmas *

Great Family Fun during the holidays. Prices or very reasonable and the entertainment is perfect. We enjoyed our visit, and this was our first. Park has great light attractions, themes, music, and well maintained drives. Staff was friendly and seem to like their job. I highly recommend you and your family, friends, and associates to visit this great Christmas park. The price is $25.00 per inside vehicle, and they have concessions before or after your visit. Drive slow and take your time to view each theme and hear the music.

So i rate yall 3 stars cuz overall park was nice but I’m very disappointed on how we where treated by staff.Whoever was running the entrance on this day was very rude to us. It was our first time here and my Bf was taking us for a date and the directions took us down the Highway so we had no idea how anything worked. So we tried to ask how to get in Line and he kept Rudely telling us to get in line and how everyone has been waiting. Wouldn’t even Help us figure out where we where supposed to go to get in line.Sorry but will not be coming back. The santa land location in tyler has much friendlier staff.

This place is very nice. My kids absolutely loved it they had a great time. We drove 2 hours away and was not disappointed. The lights are beautiful nicely themed. And for the price cant beat it. Also like everybody was very friendly and they had Santa there to take pictures and talk to the kids. A full concession afterwards parking and the drive was not a problem at all. We are definitely going to come back and I would highly recommend this to anybody. Also if you have kids or if youre just a fan of Waldo see how many you can find. My kids had a blast trying to find all of them

Was underwhelmed. After Prairie Lights, this was not really about lights. We appreciate the beautifully decorated cut outs, but with a name like “Land of Lights”, we expected much more in lights.

What a beautiful drive through holiday park! The only thing we were thinking would make it better would be the chance to loop back through at a lowered rate. We wouldve loved to grab a second look at the other side we felt like we missed (because we were so caught up on what was on our side of car). Definitely a new family tradition!

Wow! I’m telling everyone I know in the Dallas area to check this out. It was good for all ages and had all types of cartoons, superheroes, and nostalgia. They had a great setup and had a (specifically) Christ-centered part that was cool. It really was a massive amount of decorations, numerous light tunnels (my favorite), and it was quite a lengthy amount of time spent for the price of $25 for our car. Well worth the drive and cost. They even had Santa there for children. My other favorite part was the real person dressed as Grinch that interacted with you towards the end. Warning though: steep inclines, etc.. esp with a manual transmission.. know what you’re doing.

This place was AWESOME and worth every penny. I was a bit sceptical of the $25 cost per car, but it was well worth it. It took us about 45 minutes to drive thru the entire park. I HIGHLY recommend this and bring your kids or grandkids. You will not regret it!

This was probably the best Christmas light show that in all of my 58 years young I have experienced.. it was absolutely breathtaking the only complaint I have is where you get hot chocolate those employees or volunteers were not very friendly or communicative at all when I asked a question.. I understand they dont have to be but it was my first time and I wanted to experience it all.. even though that was a bad experience if I was rich I would be there every night experiencing the lights because it was that magical to me.. so the next time I go the only thing to make it magical again is not having hot chocolate..

Plenty of lights to look at and well worth the money if you have a carload of people. If the weather is cool to cold it makes for an even more enjoyable experience. If time permits stop off at the end to enjoy some holiday refreshments. Great way to spend some quality time with the family during the holidays.

We made the 1 hour drive from Mesquite & it was worth it. We were greeted immediately upon entrance to the park & the process was explained to us. The drive thru the park took us about 45 minutes & we thoroughly enjoyed it. At the end, we stopped at the Snack Shack & at Santas House for pics. The staff was super friendly & all my kids really enjoyed their time. Thank you!!!

Review №35

We have lived in the area for several years, but this is the first year that we were able to go to the Land of Lights in Athens Texas. We took our five-year-old grandson and he had a blast!! This display consist mainly of the wood cutouts. However, the way that they have put them all together and all the storylines and different things to see was amazing. They have many of the actual light displays also, and the water area is beautiful . The hills in the tunnels are a huge surprise and beautiful . They have something for everyone young and old.If you are not in the Christmas spirit before you visit, you will be after this experience. At the end of this display, they even have a house with the one and only Santa Claus!! You can visit Santa and have your picture taken for $10 for one picture and $15 for two . Then in addition to seeing Santa, Olaf was was on stage and interacting with the children. The smiles on the childrens faces seeing and interacting with Olaf is definitely a heart moving moment. They have a concession stand at the end or the beginning and you can visit there beginning or at the end. The barbecue smelled absolutely delicious. Once you enter the gates there are several of the porta potties if you have to make a pit stop. The prices are very reasonable for a night of family entertainment. The waiting line can be long, so make sure you take some hot chocolate, snacks and maybe something to entertain the kiddos along with a little patience. When we went the line was continuously moving at a very slow pace, but we did not have to sit still for very long.It is definitely worth the wait!!!Merry Christmas to all and have a good night at the land of Lights in Athens Texas!!!P. S. Where is Waldo???

The steep hill in the middle catches your attention, and the lighted scenes change theme nearly every 30yds at some points. However, some segments of the place have a generally smaller and older feel, so unless you have a packed car or perhaps live close by, the trip buck may exceed the bang. But there ARE lots of lights and unique sets, so dont be overly discouraged, either. I just wish they made provisions to pause along the way without holding up traffic (against the rules).

Br
Review №37

It was good and my daughter and granddaughter loved it, but it was lacking something. Oh I remember, it didnt have the music coming thru your car radio. Where the lights was set to the beat of the music. Some of the outdoor speakers they had was real scratchee sounding, you couldnt make out the words or the music. It just didnt WOW me, like I thought it would.

Er
Review №38

So... It got us out of the house... Thats it. I would describe Land of Lights as more of a Lot of Spotlighted Silhouettes. My carload was underwhelmed and bored, expecting more actual Christmas lights that luminesced in intricate twinkling displays to mirror the festive holiday season. Instead, the overhyped Athens attraction offered little more than a random clutter of dimly lit wooden cutouts of cartoon characters that had NOTHING to do with the magic and miracle of Christmas--or even with the winter nights. Yawn.

Review №39

Tons of lights, reasonably priced! This is a drive thru park. Theres a concession stand if you want a bite to eat or some hot cocoa. The only downfall to this place are the bathrooms... there are only portable bathrooms with no light and of course the smell and no where to wash your hands. I highly suggest going before you get there. The line to get in is usually long, but moves fast. There is one part of the park that its super steep, so make sure you have the power on your vehicle to do it. I gave a 4wd truck, but I did see cars making it up and down the hill, but just be prepared and I definitely do not suggest doing the park if it had recently rained. Mud everywhere and almost impossible to make it up and down that hill without 4wd.

Its an enjoyable experience. TONS of things to look at in here. And I mean wide variety. If you are looking for elaborate lights displays though this may not be your place. They rely heavily on wooden cutouts over strings and shapes made of lights. Both types are present though. Plenty of different Christmas songs to hear as well. Location seems popular though as the wait to get in was a little long so they are doing something right. Overall fun experience. Bring friends and family and happy holidays!

I loved the wonderful place, well wonderful is a understatement, it WAS my favorite tradition but this year to my surprise it was awful. Have you ever driven so far it felt like you made it across the world, but when you arrive it was as for nothing, well I just experienced that. On its website and poster boards outside it’s gate it states that it closes for the season on January 3rd at 10: o’clock but when we arrived with joy to see the wonderful lights, it was closed with all of the lights off we were there at 9:27. My whole family all 6 of us and cars behind us were willing to pay and enjoy it but it never happened.

What can I say about this totally Magical wonderland.. (did my review back in Nov 17 when we went but it didnt post..:( ) ***They do accept cards, you just have to park. Go inside the cocoa booth and get cash back..then pay for the drive. I do recommend cash if you dont plan to visit Santa or grab any cocoa or popcorn***This is a beautifully done, well thought and planned drive through Christmas attraction.. I have recommended to anyone who will listen. If you want a family tradition to start or add to your already list of traditions.. Or you are visiting from out of town or state.. I totally think you should visit.I met the owner at the end and he was super sweet.. Boasted about being in business for over 25 yrs and they do it because they love it!!!!! Take some blankets and charge your cameras.. Grab some cocoa and popcorn after you visit Santa..Hop back in your car and roll down the Windows.. Listen, look and take it all in!!! Blessings to all and Will see you next year
