Would have gotten higher score if the store/museum wouldve been open, but you know... COVID, also the trail past the old store was closed due to a construction project. But the side going into downtown was scenic and peaceful and I will come back sometime soon with the whole family ans hopefully the other side will be open and then my rating will be 4 stars at least.
Spent time whit a friend from cleveland hugs and kiss she love the water and canal good park to spend time!
A beautiful connection with nature in the middle of the city
I havent been there in over a year since I moved away. I miss it! Its absolutely beautiful and clean and quiet! The beauty captivates your soul enabling a peaceful, calm feeling!
Nice place for a picnic in your car.
Historical place and convenient to downtown.
There is a lot of history here. Its a nice nature spot right in the heart of Akron. Its worth a stop to hike, ride a bike or take some pictures.
Very fun place with the family
Clean bathrooms, easy access to the towpath trail.
Clean well kept trails. Good for family fun hiking and sights
Great trail. Can even ride CV Scenic Railroad. for $5 one way
Quite place to ride bikes, walk and take pictures.
Love the place but when we went the paths we re under construction but its a beautiful place
With good weather, the best place
Cascade Park is very well maintained. The grass is perfectly mowed and edged. It is close to great restaurants and cute little shops in the North side. It is also close to a station for the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad.
Love walking there.
The Overlook Trail is a paved, circular loop. Good for access. The Overlook itself offers a spectacular view of the Cuyahoga River. Additional unpaved trails branch off, but there are some challenging areas.
Nice little park with a lot of historical plaques and markers. Its the beginning of the trails.
Very cool little piece of historical Akron, with information placques and short trails.
Spacious to walk I took my daughters they enjoyed it.
Perfect for bicycling and walking
Wasnt the te e long enuff
Great Place to Walk or Bike Not quite 5 because of the Canal smell But still Pretty blending the City with Nature
Beautiful park to go for a walk or bike ride!
Nice area to walk/bike. Felt safe. Others coming and going on trail. Cant wait to walk here again!
Rode 10 miles with 8 year old son. Great morning
I love this place and all the other parks and trails
A nice touch of nature in the middle of Akron.
Nice trail
Its not a hike or anything but the different views are pretty cool. Not challenging or anything and its stroller friendly
Closed for the season but opened for a special occasion. Great history with a nice waterfall out front.
Beautiful site to see.
Interesting and a good place to start a hike into downtown Akron. Free parking and a great place to hike with your dog. Paved trail is a big plus on muddy days.
Great history of the Cascade Locks and how they were used to move things up the river. The Trail is also a great thing to walk along and offers a nice walk along the river throughout the downtown Akron area as well as Canal Park where the Rubber Ducks call home during baseball season!
Peaceful clean place!
What a beautiful stop on the towpath! I love the history points on the plaques. Great photo opportunities at this park
Wonderful resource of Akron history!
Love the peaceful environment
Nice quiet area along the canal with interesting local history. A nice place for a dog walk as well.
Wasnt much of a trail or park
Carefully planned to highlight the history of Akron. A fabulous place for groups to gather!
I love going to parks. There is a lot of signs to read about the history
This is where my fiance proposed to me on May 19th
Beautiful
Nice quiet area
Nice area however the trail in front of the Mustill store is still close and diverted until at least 2019. The diversionary trail is through a neighbor and distracts from the canal. There is a trail across the street that has an abundance of canal artifacts and early Akron manufacturing. When on this trail one gets to walk directly below the lid railroad tresses. This tresses, still in use today is especially exciting when the Cuyahoga Valley RR is crossing overhead. As one reaches the top of the trail there are freshly painted murals highlighting the history of Akron. When hiking this trail please be aware that there are several 5 % grades going uphill. At the end of the trail yoyo are delivered into the streets of Akron. You may turn around or continue to navigate the streets of Akron eventually arriving at Lock 3 directly downtown! If you havent walked this trail before I highly recommend itd
The bridge gets slippery when there is even a single drop of water on it, be careful. Great trail either way you go.
Awesome to look over the canal that used to be a spot of history and industry in the area.
Good place for walking.
A good park. Nice level trail.
Great running trails
Very serene here
...great place to walk
One of the best hikes I have been on .The history and scenery was great .
A beautiful place to walk or picnic
Great place for a run if you like hills.
These cold, industrial, built in the 1970s concrete plazas are terribly dated now, and green spaces are the trend. Of course redevelopment costs a lot of money that no one wants to spend, and so this eyesore continues on.
This is a park. It is connected other little parks. I recommend it.
Beautiful park with beautiful hiking trail next to the canal.
Nice scenery
Nice park that connects to the bike trail
All the trails are closed by the Mustill store. Sad to see that.
Very good for biking and very dedicated hikers
Nice place to walk and explore nature
