Went on a long trail at Top of the World but it was wonderful. Well maintained, dog friendly. Long and hilly but nice. There is some very tall jewel weed on the side of trails. Super interesting to see. Nice flowered meadow.
I love this trail! It makes you feel as if you are deep in the woods almost right away. Lots of up and down winding turns and streams throughout. There is a short (1.5 miles) and long (3.2 miles) trail to do. I highly recommend! This trail is right next to an archery range if you are in to that as well.
One of my favorite metro park trails to run. Two great loops. The newer section on the short trail and coming down the last hill at the end (where the stairs were taken out) are still a little lumpy from reconstruction and could use to be smoothed out a bit... always worried about rolling an ankle! But as a whole, great trails.
Fantastic Metro Park for a great family outing.Hampton Hills has two hiking trails. Both involve allot of hills to climb! So be prepared. Most of the trails are in the woods. But there are a couple of meadows along the Adams Run trail to enjoy. The park also includes a small picnic area and an archery range nearby. We choose the Adams Run trail. It is a little over three miles. But it is one of my favorite trails in the Summit Metro Parks. Plenty of switch backs, water crossings and bridges. Quite allot to see along the way. I especially like it after some rain as there is allot of water in the ravines.
It was nice but a lot of the targets are beyond being able to use. There is a bathroom though and room for lots of people to shoot. We had a good time.
Great hike! We took the Adams run trail and it was beautiful, super shady and calm. Just completely peaceful. Go early if you can, the trail is narrow and if theres many people itll be hard to pass others or let people pass you.
The trails in Hampton Hills take good advantage of the hilly terrain and should get you the work out necessary for a typical day. It took me about an hour to complete the first loop from the Top O The World. Wear sturdy shoes here as the ground is sometimes rough.
So if your going to walk this trail make sure you have hiking boots on there is 2 little rivers you need to cross with no bridge for the Spring Hollow trail! But it is a very beautiful trail!
This trail is beautiful, especially during Autumn, and is more rustic and natural than most of the trails in the MetroParks system. It is well cared for but not urbanized with ramps and bridges so the hike is a little tougher.
Very nice wooded trail with some hills. Youll have to do a few stream crossings and go through a muddy field if its rained recently, so Id recommend waterproof shoes. Options for 1.8 and 3.2 mile loops.
Scenic and enjoy walking at different elevations versus a flat trail. One of my favorites!
Perfect walk. Trails were a bit rough with tree roots and loose gravel bit the views and serenity of the walk was so lovely.
Good challenging power walk while hiking! Nice little workout.
2 trails to choose from (3.2 and 1.6 miles) depending how long youd like to walk. Love the view . Moderate trail.
Great trail if you prefer a more difficult walking/jogging experience while feeling like youre deep in the woods.
A new favorite hike! More difficult than other area hikes, but worth it!
Trail was great!!! Restrooms were awful! Needed clean. Very badly neglected.
Beautiful trail. Excellent family hike with dogs.
Steep at places, but challenging and fun.
Lovely place for families and singles to enjoy nature.
Love this trail, but beware... Its probably thee hardest trail in the area. Lots of uneven up and down paths, and the flat parts are VERY muddy flanked on both sides by thorns. If you like a challenge with lots of elevation changes, river, plains, and forest this is for you!
I miss the old scenic trail with stairs. The new short trail route is more difficult, making it less enjoyable for a stroll and seems more like cardio once you get to the top of the steep, winding, narrow hill. Lol.
Its a beautiful and more rugged hike than I expected to find in the area, although I got caught in the rain just past halfway through so that may have made this a more difficult hike than it normally is. But regardless of difficulty, the scenery is beautiful and changes between heavy forest, large hills, and an open field. My only complaint is the last quarter of it is alongside a very busy road, just to ensure all the relaxation you achieved earlier on the hike is gone before you even get into the car. Still, thanks to how beautiful it was until then and how nice it was to find a long hike with some serious hills, as well as how overall its still quieter than most trails Ive found around the area, I feel compelled to give it a higher score than Id normally give something that close to a road.
Amazing rock curvings from 1850s are unexpectedly hiding in the woods. Nice trail with moderate level of exertion.
Probably my favorite trails in Summit Metroparks.
We took the 1.6 Trail some places a little bit steep and some places youll be narrow but very nice walking open the rest of it I would do it again after it rain the night before it could be muddy wear old shoes
Wonderful place.to hike in woods
Rugged fun trail. Enjoyed this trail and the terrain.
Beautiful area to visit in the fall, with a good length trail for running or hiking.
The hiking is amazing and peaceful!
Beautiful park. Outstanding hiking. We LOVE it here. The trails are wonderful. Loved that the trail follows the stream, and that you have to walk across them - FUN! We hiked once on a day right after it rained, so it was a bit slippery in parts, but we made it through without any trouble. Very peaceful. The majority of the trail is shaded but youll quickly work up a sweat as there are a number of very narrow & steep stairways if you choose to take the long way. However, it is highly recommended not to visit if its raining because the trails are all mud and there is nothing to stop you from slipping off the edge.
Awesome challenging hiking trail that had lots of ups and downs.
This is my favorite place to hike In the Akron area. Adams Run is a 3.2 mile loop with stream crossings and a decent climb which make it both an enjoyable experience as well as good exercise. I especially enjoy the pine forest which was planted by Girl Scouts in 1968.If you want something less challenging there is 1.6 mile loop which skips the steepest part of the climb.
Took the day off to explore the park and wasnt disappointed. The trail is a little harder than some of the others in the area with some steeper inclines and downhill portions to the path. The views are gorgeous and certainly worth dedicating a couple hours to. Overall, you can do the trail in about two to two and half hours at a leisurely pace while taking photo breaks.
Great Hiking trails!
Nice hike with hills, creek crossings and bird watching.
Very good Park clean quiet its a great place to go for a walk along the trails with your pet and family I enjoyed the views in the natureor listening to the birds along the well-maintained paths
Greatest MTB track in all of Cleveland
Clean and beautiful trails!
Great place for going long walks over hills and valleys with great scenery. Love it
Nice trail. It counts as 35 flights of stairs. The trail is fairly well maintained. Its a bit muddy in spots and there are three small areas that have washed out, but there are decent detours around them. You will cross the stream more than once, but there are stepping stones. Good parking. A few picnic tables. A 2 stall pit toilet, but it has solar fans to keep down the smell. All in all, a healthy up and down trail to the highest point in Summit county.
This was a nice hike. The trail narrows close to the entrance (beginning or end) so wed have to move over to the side off the trail because i had my 2 dogs with me. Runners seem to like it, though I just like long walks, a couple moderate hills, but nothing insane.
Its nice down there
Nice scenic hike. You can take the short way or the longer 3.8 mile hike.
Great walk along the Adam Run tail.
Nice, well kept little park. Adams Run is a fun short trail with some stream crossings and hills, but it definitely gets wet and buggy.
I enjoy hiking the trails in this park. There is one climb that isnt too demanding.
One of my favorite local parks. Took me over an hour to hike the long trail, but it was totally worth it. There is a pine grove that was planted by the girlscouts in 1968, which is particularly cool to see.
Theres lots of parking at the main entrance at 2925 Akron-Peninsula Rd. I walked the 1.6 mile spring hollow trail which is a class 3 (basic) trail which is rated 3 for difficult. Its a truly beautiful path which crosses a stream twice at the bottom. Be prepared to go uphill for a ways and I would suggest bug repellent when the mosquitoes are out!
Lovely hiking spot.
One of my favorite parks in the glorious Summit County Metro park system. The trail is well-maintained and runnable. Plenty of hills to get your heart pumping with an abundance of wildlife and birds.
I love this park. We did the Adam run trail and it was nice. A nice, quiet mostly shaded path.
Awesome trails.
This archery practice range is awesome. Has a raised platform to shoot. Twelve targets ranging from 10 yards up to 60 yards give pleanty of room for many archers to utilize. This is a safe and fun place to hone your bow skills
Beautiful hike
Gorgeous park, challenging hiking trails!
Terrific place! Brought my 9, 8 and 5 year old boys. Got some much needed practice in.
Lots of awesome hills
Clean. Quiet. Spacious.
Good, challenging trail
LOVE the trails here, very beautiful! The chemical toilet here could probably stand to be emptied more often though.
Decent Park. Very Rugged path on the 3.2 mile hike. Also if it rains, trial could become impassible. Beautiful. Not many Birds though. If you like Chipmunks, they have tons of them.
Very well kept up and trails very well marked.
Beautiful, rugged hiking!
Beautiful upkeep, beautiful scenery, friendly faces as you pass. Great workout!
Love the trails here. Kind of steep in some areas but overall a great trail for walking, hiking, or trail running.
If you want a challenge here it is
Not a bad trail system, in fact its pretty awesome but they could do more to fix trail drainage issues
Nice trail. Not a long hike. Easy
This trail is beautiful and a pretty challenging hike.
I love the entire Metro Parks system... collectivly they are a jewel of Northeast Ohio. The parks are always well kept no trash or litter. The trails are well maintained and typically well marked and easy to follow. I love the outdoors and the metro parks are always a great way to get my fill when I need to get away.
Beautiful trails!
A very beautiful park. Great trail running.
Beautiful place to hike! Lots of trails and things to see. Definitely one of my favorites. Super easy to find too. Theres a bathroom at the head of the trail too but caution its just a portapotty and kinda gross. Plenty of parking.
I go to Hampton Hills for the outdoor archery range. Its a good range and allows a shot distance of up to 50 yards. The MetroPark hiking trail is also very scenic.
Great hiking trails, been coming here for years
Both trails are very nice, decent workout as well
Do not go if it is the tiniest bit wet it will be closed with out noticed, it will even say it is open online but I will be closed if it is wet it will be closed
Great Archery Setup
Infested with ticks!
Great place to walk!
Great place to go. Long trails and there is an archery range I use often. Well maintained.
Nice nature walk in our backyard.
Such a beautiful park! Love hiking this park! Such great trails.
Great views but it gets muddy and the trail is pretty long dont start it unless you have at least an hour to two hours
Great place to picnic, hike and spend the day. Very scenic.
Love to go there and do archery with my son
Excellent hike! Beautiful sights! Rolling hills and turning landscapes of beauty!
Great trails for walking and hiking, clearly marked made of dirt and some stone. Beautiful scenery and running water along the trail.
Great trail.
A nice quick hike.
Great park- good for a casual hike
Great hike for nature or exercising
Nice hike, but the hike no longer goes between the hills, which was what made it special. It now goes up and wanders across the back hill, and back to the old trail on the other side of the ravine. Also, I think it is now more like 2.2 miles or so, rather than 1.6 miles, which is what it was, and what the sign still says.
Good place to hike. Trails were a little bit muddy today.
Yeah, I walked here once or twice.
Nice loop trail thru the woods- about 2 miles. Theres a second trail that loops off the first trail for a longer hike. Some hills but overall pretty easy. Its not been too crowded when Ive been here so its nice to bring the dogs. It can get muddy so be careful if its rained recently.
Great for walking/hiking!
