A fantastic piece of Yuma area history!

Mc Phaul Suspension Bridge is majestically nested between hill 18 miles north of Yuma on the west side of Highway 95. The access to cross the bridge is closed; however, you can access either side of the bridge to admire its engineering, or the peaceful landscape surrounding it. Underneath the bridge runs the Gila River

It looks just like a miniature golden gate bridge .

Fabulous! Sheer engineering beauty!

Historic old bridge. Even though the bridge had outlived its usefulness, the replacement bridge flooded repeatedly. All of the replacement bridges are gone, but the McPhaul bridge is still here. Suspension construction, similar to the Golden Gate Bridge.
