The food was amazing. Everything we had tasted so good. The server, Anthony was also awesome and attentive. I would highly recommend Handsome Cab for an all around great experience!

After a few visits hoping that the first few were an anomaly I can safely say this place isnt what is bills itself as. The food is decent and the cocktails are passable but the wine list is so extensive that the servers have very little knowledge of any specific wines characteristics (or even ability to find a specific wine)The atmosphere is rigid and feels like a movie set rather than a welcoming restaurant and I have NEVER felt welcomed when arriving.Beware late night visits as well since what appears to be an owner may be there drunkenly berating staff members or loudly complaining about some situation or another. Hard to tell since theyre intoxicated.Has potential but Ill stick with elsewhere.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in the area. I’m from Lancaster and this place will have me traveling to York. Good drinks, all the food was seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly. Good service. I’m very particular about eating out and this place is legit. Can’t wait to come back.

The Handsome Cab offers exceptional dining for the refined pallet. Our food was delicious and the presentation beautiful. The service was great and the server was very well informed about every option on the menu and wine list. The place has an awesome vibe and decor. Remember you pay for the overall experience, not just the food on your plate. Also have to mention the bathrooms were clean. I highly recommend this place.

WOW!! Exceeded my expectations. Wed planned to come here for many months, & finally had the opportunity. From the hostesss greeting to the service, drinks & food, our experience was wonderful. My specialty martini of the day + our seared tuna w/hazelnut sauce & risotto, accompanied by a delightful French white wine, followed by dessert & espresso were delightful. Our evening was WOW all the way!!We will return!!

I visited your restaurant on Tuesday night with my daughter-in-law. We were there to celebrate national drink wine day. We saw that you had an event and it sounded very interesting. But clearly you werent prepared at all. We were seated and greeted by a mumbling server, and realized that she was asking if we wanted water.  We asked for your tasting Tuesday menu so that we could see all of the menus before we decided what to order. After the second time asking for the tasting menu she expected us to order immediately. I asked for another moment please, to which we got a scowling face. After 40 minutes of sitting there with only water we tried to flag our server so that we could order. At that point the host walk over and said he would take our order. When we asked what we did wrong he repeated that he would take our order. At that point I didnt feel comfortable staying at all so we walked out. Within 10 minutes, including walking the block and a half to White Rose we had drinks and an appetizer.Its very sad that the thoughts that came to mind were whether she was ignoring us because I asked for a menu that was items for $5.55,  was I dressed appropriately, or am I in the right tax bracket to be here? VERY uncomfortable to say the least.In respnse - irregardless of the time frame, we were CLEARLY ignored. If you could see that she was in the weeds why wait until someone has sat that long to help? Having been a server and a restaurant manager for years, I could never have let one of my servers OR good paying customers suffer that long!I felt very judged at that point; almost as if you wanted us to leave. I dont think visiting again will solve anything We were excited to try wine from your list,. Its too bad that that wont happen.

Amazing wines, Unique ideas. The outbreak of covin-19 has been tough for the restaurants. They cant do much but offer to go at this time, but the handsome cab is always coming up with cool new ideas. Try there take and bakes. The sheperds pie is to die for but remember to give them 24hr notice for those big orders

The service was fantastic, but I will not return nor will I recommend a restaurant in which the owner berates his staff in front of the patrons whilst intoxicated. That type abhorrent behavior is inexcusable.

Went for a drag show. It was a blast! The place is a little fancy, but good food and drinks!

The menu is unique and the food doesnt disappoint. The wine list is extensive and the scotch and whiskey selections are top notch. The service is wonderful, very attentive without being obtrusive. Wonderful place for an evening out with friends.

Slow service, higher prices, good food, sugary mixed drinks, nice ambiance. I came on a Monday night and there were average 15 other people in the restaurant while I was there around 6:30-8 pm. It took about 10 minutes before I was asked what I wanted to drink and every interaction thereafter took about 15 minutes before I was checked on again, to include getting my cheque and paying my bill. I got 2 mixed drinks, 1 w/ Titos and another with whiskey, both tasted like they added a ton of sugar. The food was very tasty and I really enjoyed it. I was sitting by myself and even when I waited to get the cheque and pay, there was nobody in my section. The 4 ( I think 1 may have been the owner) staff members stood around the bar chatting and laughing while I sat and waited. Although the ambiance was nice and food was tasty I would not go back. I dont know if it was because I wore a goody and Jeans that I received slow service but the staff and food are what I rank my restaurants on and this experience did not satisfy me.

I love this place. They have a wide variety of wines, utterly delicious food, and I have always had a great waiter. I have never had a bad meal here. The atmosphere is comfortable but classy. Some nights they have music or other events worth taking the trip downtown for. If you want to try somewhere new, this is a good place to go.

Friendliest staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The bartender makes amazing drinks, to include the best Old Fashioned you will ever have! I cant wait to go back.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal with great friends while listening to a very talented pianist. The server Emily was super friendly, the atmosphere was quite pleasant, and the bone-in ribeye was delicious, as was the salmon. The brussels sprouts small plate and calamari appetizers were quite tasty too! Even the ice cream hit the spot! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Every Tuesday is Happy Hour all day at bar where apps and wine glass is $5.55 each. Every week the menu and wines change. Our experience was awesome and Patrick, our bartender, was very personable and friendly and efficient! Will definitely go back again. Note: my friends did brunch last year and it was outstanding!! Gotta try their Bloody Mary!!

Loved the ambience and enjoyed live music with a cello and guitar. Disappointed with only one plant based option given upon request. It was very oily and not that good. Expected more.

My wife and I just had dinner here for the first time. She had ordered a short rib dinner which was basically a pot roast. The Caesar salad was extremely bland. My duck dinner was just so-so. Service was very slow took 15 minutes just to get my bill. For the price it is definitely not worth it.

Loved the food! We had great service on Valentines day. The food has a modern twist so look at the menu before you go. Their creme brulee was sinfully amazing. I cant wait to go back!

I love to go here and strike up a debate with the local wino’s and drunks. They’re very interesting people with some great stories. Best time to catch em is week day lunch while they’re pounding red wine like the apocalypse is coming. I don’t drink wine and I’m not a fan of the food here but it is a fun time on occasion

The Cab has seen a wonderful increase in food quality since early 2019. Tuesday night bar specials are to die for. Free parking after 5:00 downtown. No reason not to go

Harassing and abusive behavior toward your employees (even former) is inexcusable. Take responsibility for your actions and get help. You will never thrive whilst creating a toxic work environment. If you do not take care of your employees, they will never care to take care of your business.

Not a huge fan of wine, but went here with some friends. The wine flights are a great way to sample wines, but if thats not your thing, they have mixed drinks and a bar. The food is good quality (if a little pricey) and the staff is friendly and helpful. Good atmosphere and excellent decor. Would recommend strongly.

My sister lives in York so my husband and I were up visiting and my younger sister came up from Hanover to hang out too. We got to The Handsome Cab probably right as it opened on a Sunday for brunch. Our server was excellent and the food was amazing. After the bloody Mary (their special one is like an appitizer in itself) I wanted to switch over to a beer. Now I know this is a wine bar so I kind of did it to myself but, the first two that I ordered were out of stock. Again, our server was excellent and very apologetic and I did eventually end up with a delicious beer, while my sisters were wiser and did one of the tastings. Besides the booze the food was really fantastic. I had the breakfast burger, but they class it up with brie instead of your regular cheddar. My husband got the crab cake sandwich which was an incredible amount of crab cake and very little filler. Definitely a do again next time were visiting.

Some of the best l food and service hands down. I love the fun unique food items that are delicious. The dining area is relaxing and sometimes they have someone playing the baby grand piano at the entrance. The second and 3rd floors are dedicated to local artists studios and an art gallery thats great for hosting events. I absolutely love this restaurant

GOD was this food AMAZING!! I would give it TEN stars!! I asked at the door if they could accommodate gluten free, hopefully dairy free. Our wonderful waiter came to the table ready to tell me what was safe for me to eat~ its rare that people get how important it is, and are so happy to work with me on my necessary dietary requirements!I had this trout dish, their special for Fathers Day ... RIDICULOUSLY good! I had heard trout could be too fishy ~ not this! Prepared Al la Francaise with the lightest sauce, baked with lemons and rosemary in the middle. It was juicy and delicious! It came with capers, green beans, potatoes, and eggs. Just. AMAZING! My Dad got a salmon dish that was also delicious.Then dessert. O ~ M ~ G!! It was this flourless chocolate cake that was so dark, rich and sense it was like a cheesecake! I think that had a bit of dairy, but no gluten. Divinely decadent!!The atmosphere was lovely and creative. It was just a great stop and unexpected find! We had gone to SMALL STAR Art House first for a movie then wandered and found some dinner. Wonderful meal, wonderful Fathers Day! If you get to York ~ GO!! You will NOT be disappointed!!

My server Marni was absolutely incredible!!! She was very consistent, knowledgeable & gave wonderful customer service throughout my entire visit. My only issue with the visit was belligerent talking which wouldn’t be an issue if it wasn’t bought to my attention that they were the owners that were visibly drunk. Also, my food wasn’t served hot as it should have been and I will not be visiting this restaurant again.

Its very pricey. But the food is delicious. And sometimes on Friday and Saturday evenings they have live music. I also recommend their happy hours. You have to park on the street or in a nearby garage. And for all former Blue Moon patrons you must make this your new spot! Handsome Cab scallops taste even better, and they have another Blue Moon favorite that you must go in person to see.

I am an office manager and we held a wine tasting event for our clients here last week. Robert was fantastic in terms of communicating with me before the event to make sure we had adequate space for the event and stayed on budget.The night of the event, Robert was again fantastic making everyone feel welcome and teaching us about the different wines. The food was delicious and paired perfectly with the chosen wines. The feedback from our clients was 100% positive and we would recommend to any company wanting to do something special for their clients or employees.

This is by far the very best place that has happened to York, in a very long time!! Excellent wine and craft cocktails, made by awesome Bartenders!! The owners make everyone feel special and welcome...whether it is your first visit or you are an old friend!! I even saw David Albright (formerly of The Left Bank) consulting with the new Chef in the kitchen!!! I sampled the new Vegan Menu today and will definitely order from it again in the future!! Don’t miss this Gem!

My party witnessed an assault by one of the owners against an employee this evening. He began an argument with our female server, was clearly drunk (by sight and by the confirmation of his employees), pointed his finger and yelled at her in her face, then, when she stated that this was her last shift, grabbed her arm when she tried to get away. We expressed our shock and concern to one of our other servers, who found the other owner for us to speak to. That owner acknowledged that the perpetrator was drunk and didnt seem surprised. He said he would handle it.I hope he does and wish him luck. Our service was great from both our servers, as well as our drinks. But we definitely have our reservations about going again to a place where that kind of abusive behavior is perpetrated by owners.

Very good wine selection. Need more places like this. Was my first and only trip so didnt sample much of the menu but Id give it 4.5 for the wine and 3.5 for the food. Average to 4. The right wine makes even mediocre food come alive, right? Right! And the house cab was Handsome.

Food was average, lacked seasoning. Our waiter was phenomenal, he gave very honest feedback qhen asked about items on the menu. He was very attentive to our table but not annoying. He was polite and respectful. The environment was very loud and wild as the night went on.

Food was good, server was great. We went there to see a singer that was preforming that night, no one in the place even knew she was coming, total lack of management. This place needs to get its act together. I hope it makes it.

This is one of my wifes favorite places. Great atmosphere and wine selection. For those people like me who may not be big wine fans they have cocktails and some beer. The service is fantastic and good food. This is a must visit place if you are going downtown.

When I went, it was late and they were closing soon. I popped in for a drink with a friend. The environment was amazing. The bartender was amazing. The drink was phenomenal. Im only giving it a 4 out of 5 because I didnt have the food there and cant speak on that. Would definitely go back.

Very nice wine bar with good food and a fun atmosphere. Went with a group of 8 and had a lot of fun, the scallops entree and meat and cheese plate were both outstanding and the wine samplers were fun, however our visit was not without problems.Some menu items (sliders in particular) were spicy to the point of having very little flavor other than the heat. The service was friendly and mostly attentive but our meal was over 3 hours long. Not always a bad thing, but the last 45 minutes were spent waiting for them to sort out our checks due to some problem with the credit card machine.

We were very excited to have dinner at the Handsome Cab as it was Restaurant Week in York, the special menu for that week sounded very promising, and our one friend had been there before (only for drinks and apps) and truly enjoyed it. Our server was attentive and even apologized for the slowness of the drinks, but, after all, it was Restaurant Week, one had to expect that. The drinks were delicious as was the first course when it finally arrived - shrimp bisque soup. We could hardly wait for the entree, which was the medium-priced selection which we had all decided to order. After a long wait (again, its Restaurant Week), our meal arrived. First we were surprised that it was a small plate as that was not noted on the menu ( this restaurant serves entrees in small or regular sized plates), and it certainly had no appeal visually - two dark-brown veal rolls cemented to mashed potatoes. Now, there was no mention of mashed potatoes on the description below the name of the dish. However, that would have been alright if the veal, thinly sliced and rolled, hadnt been extremely dry and the stuffing, which was touted as lump crabmeat, tasted awfully fishy with no lumps of crab whatsoever. The served did come and ask how our meal was, and we did state a few times that the dish was dry, but she did not try to amend anything. But, in her defense, we made a huge mistake, by not insisting that the dish be returned as we did not want to hurt our friends feelings who was very effusive in her praise of this restaurant. The dessert was very good, but certainly didnt make up for the poor quality of the main dish. I will not go back to this restaurant as there are too many other good restaurants now opening in the York area.

The Handsome Cab is my favorite go to restaurant in York, PA! I am never disappointed by the atmosphere, the food or the wine, for which they have made their name! Everyone here is very knowledgeable about wine and is happy to share that information. The classes on Sundays (Sunday School) are a great lesson in wines of the world. Robert Godfrey really makes it educational and fun! His partner, Andrew dAgenais, makes everyone feel so welcome! So keep them on your radar for all the wonderful events every week.

We used the handsome cab for our childrens rehearsal dinner. It was on the first Friday and the town of York was very busy. We used a room upstairs in the gallery. It was so nice! The staff was very accommodating. Our food was delicious and we enjoyed our wine choices. IT was a lovely evening! We will be sure to visit for a quiet dinner soon!
