What a great venue! Intimate, comfy, wonderful to see a great film that you probably wont find at the big chain movie theatres! Locally owned and operated, they support a lot in the community in York.Seats were great. Doubt there is anything but a great seat in the house. They have snacks too so dont worry if you didnt get dinner beforehand. And lots of great restaurants in York, so make a date of it!They also have incredible art in half of the theatre/lobby before you get to the movie seating. So dont get there just in time for the movie like my Dad and I did ~ get there when it opens so you can browse and enjoy the great art displayed first!HIGHLY recommend this theatre!

Tiny art house theater in downtown York showing first run indie and foreign cinema. Its great to have a venue for Independent cinema in the area for those whose tastes run farther a field than the latest blockbuster.

Nice intimate theater and art gallery. Very personable owner with knowledge of film. They show great independent films. If you are in York,PA Thursday - Sunday definitely make this a stop.

A great place to see movies and documentaries you cant see anywhere else

Hubby, grandson and myself just spent a wonderful evening at Small Star Art House. We saw Free Solo and enjoyed every minute we were there. Warmly greeted as soon as we arrived, and showed us interesting interactive displays in lobby while we waited for show time. Seats were super comfortable, atmosphere was.like being at home. Loved everything about this place. We found a treasure! Will definitely be back.

This 26 seat store front screening room offers first- run indie films in a very comfortable and friendly BYOB environment. Their fine and varied schedule features selections often not available in this area. A beacon for cinephiles and anyone looking for an interesting evening, the Small Star is more than a theater + gallery/shop, it is a cultural center and a manifestation of York pride.

Im so thankful to have this theatre in York which brings in award-winning indie films and documentaries. Its homey and comfortable and the neighborhood feels safe.

This place is so cute and shows some excellent films. I saw RBG here and it was a great experience. The woman who was working was so friendly and welcoming! Its also nice that the seats are staggered/on risers so even short people like me can see the screen.

This evening I chose to do a double! The Wife and Tea with the Dames. Looking forward to possibly Love, Gilda. I love the lounge feel of the front two rows for viewing. Plus, what is a movie without a drink and popcorn. Last, Ive learned a tongue twister this evening. Dame Judi Dench. Say that 5-10 times fast and see how you make out!

Intimate seating, very comfy chairs and theability to see movies that are not available in the big theatres. Very personable and helpful staff and very cool art and jewelry in the shop.

I am so grateful we have a theater like this in York! I can count on them getting some great movies that I wouldnt otherwise get to see.

I love this place! Cozy, congenial, friendly, and artsy. Interesting and unusual art, jewelry, and gifts. Quality movies.

A nice little theatre that shows independent films. Theres a lot of displays in the front of the building and the theater in the back. My only complaint is that theyre arent any parking garages nearby and parallel parking is pretty much the only option.
