Absolutely Amazing and Winston-Salem’s best kept secret. Who knew you could take the kids fishing here as well. If you have not seen the Old meets New here you don’t know what your missing. I very much enjoyed my visit here. So much talent under one roof and So much history too. Who ever came up with the idea to take this Historical site and make a contemporary art museum out of it must have been thought to be crazy whenever they purposed the idea,I’m not sure if it was a group or one person’s plan, but now must be considered true genius and I couldn’t be happier for the successful work that surly will inspire all that visit this wonderful place. The Staff here most of what I gathered are volunteers and the most helpful nicest, considerate people ever put together Thank You so very much I will share this with family and friends for years to come.

The art work is exciting, thought provoking, and eye catching. The staff is kind and helpful. The third picture which looks like a tree branch is actually a ceramic teapot created by Eric Sterritella. A staff member explained to me how it could be used. SECCA is an absolute gem.

SECCA has become my best kept secret. Its exhibits are museum-quality. Variety and quality go hand-in-hand in their focus on exhibiting the work of the countrys major contemporary artists with emphasis on Southeastern artists. Its McCesney Scott Dunn Auditorium allows it to expand the scope to include music, drama, dance, film, lectures and conferences. And once you have cruised thru the exhibits, you can tour the the James G. Hanes hunter-style mansion adjacent to the main SECCA building. And its all FREE!

We have been to both fine art collections and theater events at SECCA. It is a nicely maintained venue with carefully curated exhibitions. Best of all: it is free with a suggested donation of $5 per person. You get a see the modest historical home, view the collections, and explore the nature trails around the property. The volunteers are well educated and dedicated. A local treasure not to be missed.

Delightful treasure in our community, and folks dont know enough about it!One of the rare museums/galleries in the USA that compensates artists for their installations. Thoughtfully curated work, artfully displayed. But the main selling point: its free. Free to visit. To anyone! All the time!

Odd juxtaposition of modern art against Art and Crafts oppulance from the 20s, but enjoyable if you arent all in on contemporary art. The addition of the Little Theater performances have made it so much more utilized and relevant for Winston-Salem.

Pray your not in urgent need of a bathroom. Whoever designed the place woefully underestimated the need for facilities.
