I have lived in Windsor most of my life and grew up in foothill park, mainly mountain biking with my dad as a kid. Its still fun to bike but in the last 20 years the sketchy trails have been blocked off. For the last 10 years it has been a great place to hike with friends or go for a solo run with my dog. The start of the trail is a climb and perfect to get your blood flowing and muscles warmed up. The view of our beautiful community at the top of Butt Burner hill is so worth the climb!

Nice trails and for hiking and mountain biking. There are 3 lakes you can go to and the climbs arent too bad. There are many routes for whatever terrain you are interested in.

Beautiful slice of heaven. The trails take you around in different directions around a lake and up into the hills. My dog loves this place! I love to see the other dogs people bring and the occasional horse on the trails. Beautiful vistas, and high and low points to get a good hike in. I like coming here to clear my mind, and enjoy nature at its best. (I added some pics during Aug 2020 that shows some of the fire damage. Foothill still is beautiful and a spectacular place to walk/hike and enjoy nature at its best).

Whether we arrive at 7am or later, we generally see only a few people wearing masks. Most are not even carrying them to put them on when they come across others, walking toward them. Many have dogs and so we consistently have to leave the path to avoid the dogs and unmasked walkers and runners. I believe that since the park service has asked that people who come to the park, respect the policy for everyones benefit, and few people are doing it - you CLOSE the parks for a week, as a way to remind people that now is the right time to reduce the spread. Close, and if large numbers return again, without masks, close again. Everyone is completely ignoring the mask policy - I have passed people without masks who are coughing, sneezing, and yelling. Thanks,

Love this park ️ great street parking right near the entrance. Great views from the higher trails. Two ponds - my son loves to throw rocks into the water! The recent fires burned through this park in October but most of the trees are still standing and there is new growth sprouting up everywhere! I cant wait to see how it looks in a month or two!

This park is legit. Get ready for some moderate climbs in elevation with some really gorgeous views. Very neighborhood vibe with lots of folks getting their exercise here that live nearby. Big enough park that you can lose the crowd.

My favorite go-to, local hiking spot. Go early and you will feel like you have the park to yourself. Plenty of trails to stroll along with family, hike alone and still feel safe and more challenging hike over on cardiac hill.

We went for a walk around the three lakes before a day of wine tasting in Healdsburg, and it was a perfect way to start the day before the weather got too warm. The wide, easy trails are wonderful and obviously much enjoyed by walkers and joggers. We visited late summer, but springtime must be especially beautiful here.

I was driving and needed long distance and needed a safe place to park and nap. There is a horse trail and paths for walking dogs. A lovely lake, mosquitoes at dusk and many large frogs. My granddaughter explored while I napped. A park ranger stopped by to I sure I was ok and left with a drive safe

Foothill is the bomb. Dog friendly for your leashed dog friends. A couple small lakes. Tons of spring g flowers. Beautiful oak trees, and lots of morning fog in the winter and fall. A few nice overlook points. You may spot some wildlife on a quiet day. Easy to moderate trails. There are bathrooms and wheelchair accessible parking. Small-ish parking lot, but plenty of street parking outside the lot. $7 if youre not a Regional Parks member. You can avoid paying if you park on the street. Great family spot, great dog spot, great picnic spot. Excellent for trail running. Equine and mountain bike friendly.

Great park. If youre one of those jerks who doesnt know what a trash can is for or what Pick up after your pet means, stay in your yard and leave this place to those who appreciate and respect it. Been going here for four years, could walk from home, which we did daily until we moved to Healdsburg; now we have to drive, but still bring our dog here because she and we love it.

Simply beautiful. The trails are nice and not too bad. There are a two ways to the lookout I would definitely recommend the back way and not straight up. There is the occasional mountain lion sighting but with the 2 recent fires that is expected due to the fact their habitat is being destroyed. GREAT place to walk the dog just please pick up after them

This is a beautiful park. Lots of walking trails both flat and very hilly for all abilities. At the top of Alta trail beautiful views of the surrounding areas. Benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the park. Easy access and lots of street parking in case you dont have $7 for the daily parking fee. I did not see any play structures for kids near the parking lot. I dont think there are any in the park. Dog friendly.

The Foothill Regional Park is located in Windsor Ca. Is a friendly and safe place for all ages. It has a variety of trials for everyone easy, medium, and difficult or steep. The park also has 3 lakes A, B, and C and you can enjoy them walking around. But if you want to burn more calories and enjoy one of the best views of Windsor town, I recommend you to take up Alta Vista Trial and you will see what I mean. Just beautiful. Also, in this park pets are welcome, awesome! After you come one time to this park, you want to come back again.
