A great historic stop in the Colonial Williamsburg Historic area, right on Duke of Gloucester street. The silversmith we spoke with was a repository of knowledge of the craft and its history. So many fantastic items that were hammered right on premises. The coffee pot from the 1972 Colonial Williamsburg educational movie is still on display there, and still looks beautiful, like it hasnt aged at all. Definitely worth a stop while walking Duke of Gloucester street.
Overall, Colonial Williamsburg is a treasureJust a fantastic way to demonstrate a living glimpse of American history without the headlice and dysentery. My only wish would be more demonstration of what the craftsman actually did to ply their craft. Maybe itnwas an off day but seeing these trades and skills.at work would be a real joy.
This is one of my favorite trade shops in Williamsburg. The smiths are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They do amazing work. My engagement ring is from their shop, and it is durable, delicate, and beautiful.
The people there are so well educated. They take their time explaining what it is they do. Following traditional 18th century silversmithing techniques, its one of my favorite shops in town
Guys working in this workshop are amazing. Don’t miss visiting them! They could not only tell you about the craft (though it looks like an art for me), but also about historical details (there is even a connection to Thomas Jefferson)
Spent some time talking to the Smiths. They where great with kids and ready for questions.
Great experience and leanings of history
Bought beautiful matching wedding band and engagement ring here over 10 years ago! They still look beautiful today!
Fun to watch them work.
Nice place to visit
Awesome to watch trade masters work.
Amazing craftsmanship on display. Excellent historical trade on display. Great selection if items to purchase
There is a shop, and a visitor area with working historical employees that is a pay visit area. They employees are knowledgeable, but as a warning the shop isnt huge and is mostly small jewelry piece items, and a few pewter pieces.
I love this place!
You can buy silverware and watch the Craftsman job!
