Great trail. Interesting, lots of variation. Little rough and challenging on some of the trails, so come ready to hike. Fun.

Nice little park, with few people ever there. It has some nice picnic tables, but most have some dirt on them so just bring a table cloth. Also, the grass is FILLED with goose poop so make sure to bring a blanket you dont mind dirtying if you want to lay in the grass. However, there is a really nice trail around the water, so it makes up for the goose poop filled grass area.

Quiet lake, good for a short hike, about 5 miles. Pier is weird, not sure how you can launch any kayaks easily. You also need to buy a permit from White Plains. And somehow they lock the gate to the pier after 6pm.

So peaceful and clean. I wouldnt recommend it to older people or anyone with young children in strollers since there are fallen trees everywhere but its definitely a good spot. Nice scenery.

Good technical trail running spot, a lot of fallen trees in the path, but easy to jump over. A lot of stone steps, stones are pretty stable. some Creek crossings, stable stones to cross on. but be careful and stay on the trail, its pretty easy to lose track of it and not be able to find your way, finding your way back isnt too hard because its relatively small.

A surprising amount of trails at this historic nature preserve right outside of downtown White Plains. Theres a door to commemorate a Revolutionary War battle, old stone house foundations and lots of terrain to cover.

Took a hike on a late September Saturday, starting at the Liberty Park parking lot. The main trail runs along the west side of the lake. There are off-chute that go up and to the west of the main trail. I took the trail towards North Castle. After a 1/4 mile I lost the trail (there are “Heritage Trail” markets at the beginning, but lost them). There are other unmarked trails at the top. I followed one and it got me back down to the main trail along the lake. Overall, very enjoyable, and I didn’t see one person on the trail.

This beautiful man-made lake has marked trails and great view points. Sadly, there was no kayaking during labor day ... I assume that everyone was taking a day off, but it would have been awesome to kayak on that day. The trails are hike-able ... except in the back area near the 1876 war memorial site. I did not explore the the trails that go too far outside the lake, but they seemed pretty good and hike-able as well. The trail does not loop around the lake, and you will have to come back to the road to connect.

I love this trail, it makes you feel like you are off the beaten path and out of the city. Though the trails are not well maintained, and there gets to a point near the end of the lake where the trail splits that the thorny vines have taken over the trail and you can go no further. It would be great if some trail maintenance was done. Otherwise it is beautiful, it is a great place for birding as well, lots of song birds, birds of prey and something which looks like a heron which lives nearby.

Easy hike with a bit of history, the Battle of White Plains. Pretty lake. Some mud and rocky stream crossings, fallen trees. Mostly flat. You can only walk around the lake via the woods for 3/4 of the way. Then you must walk along the road. Not optimal.Google has entrance point wrong. Its on the southeast side of the lake, just north of where Lake Road and Old Lake Road fork off.No fishing, although I did see two people fishing.
