Really spectacular place, I loved it. Park is huge and seemingly not maintained ( at least at the parts where I was) which is really cool- it feels like deep in the woods . Perfect for family getaway, dog walks or just retreat for yourself. 5 stars ️

BEWARE OF PORCUPINES! We were walking our black lab off leash, stupid Yankees, and she attacked one. She got needled from snout to about, poor girl. The nearest vet open mid-day was a 45 min drive, but they undoubtedly saved her life. Otherwise, beautiful little nook. Just dont bring your four-footed friend.

I love this pool. I only have one problem. When I was a child I remember being at the pool at 8 am in the water enjoying myself. Now times have changed and pools do not open till 10 or 11 am. With the covid gong on I think there should be an exception made and the pools should open up earlier so that everyone has a chance to enjoy it. Its a thought. It should be considered.

Nice Pool!! Easy in and Out! With Covid19 Pandemic. The hour are 11am - 2pm then 1 hour for cleaning the pool and sanitizing every thing down. Then the pool opens back up at 3pm - 6pm. I love the new times, because the kids can swim and enjoy a few hours and its only cost 4 dollars per person over 5.They do have food & concession. There a nice Selection cheese fries, cheese burgers, hot dogs ex.. Sodas and water. However realistically you better off bringing your own food. Packs some sandwidges, snacks and chips your kids will be good to go. Plus its only a 3 hour shift.. lol

During the summer of COVID only Westchester residents are allowed for crowd control in the pool. They are two sessions. $4 for 5 years and older. I went Sunday and it was a nice experience. Since it is a gargantuan size pool there was ample space. It may get more crowded as the weather gets warmer. Kiddie section and playground closed.

I didn’t realize there was such a nice trail so close by. The Saxon Woods Park is a hidden gem for anyone looking for a good trail. It’s dog friendly and the perfect place to go for a weekend walk. There is lacking signage which was hard to navigate with the leaves on the ground, overall a very positive experience.

Due to COVID-19 you only can swim from 11-2 AND 3-6I learned that if you want to be able to spend the whole day there you can go at 11-2 then before you leave prepay for the 3-6 sessionFrom 2-3 the POOL IS CLOSED FOR DISINFECTING.A young man with a clipboard stopped me on line and asked if I would fill out my information as a way to track COVID-19 if in fact someone was to come up positive; I quickly filled it out as I would like to be informed. I heard some people declining their information. It ONLY asks for name, email and phone number. Since everyone has at least one email address thats all you have to give them if you arent comfortable with anyone knowing your name or phone number which by the way means nothing with all the technologies we have today.Staff is courteous, helpful and patient. The concession stand food was very good and way better than Tibbetts Brook Park Pool (not cheap, but most times cheap is quality )and the lifeguards were great at their job dealing with the kids.

This course is a great choice for the average golfer. Challenging without being overly penal. Condition was very good when I recently played and I was able to get a Saturday afternoon time with no trouble. Fee was $70 with cart for a non Westchester resident.Theres a decent grill with outdoor seating and a full bar next to the large practice green with no chipping allowed. The driving range ($7 approx 40 balls) has lightweight balls which fly roughly half the normal distance. Parking is free and adequate. My only complaint is that the course is no longer on golf now, so no greens fee specials are available.

Da
Review №49

This is a beautiful trail for running or a light hike. My husband and I run the 3 mile route every weekend in the warmer months. Beware of running on days after storms or heavy rain as the trees fall and can block your way. Late spring is the best time to go as the woods are a canopy of green and there are many beautiful plants and flowers in bloom. Also, there is no fee to park between Labor day and Memorial day. In the summer months, the trees give refreshing shade for runners and hikers. Saturday and Sunday mornings are busy, lots of dogs off-leash. A nice fresh air escape from the busier and more congested parts of Westchester.

This park has an extensive system of hiking trails directly accessible from the parking lots. These trails generally make for easy walking with gentle grades and can be quite pleasant in nice weather. Even though the trail markings are on the minimal side youre not likely to get lost as the Hutchison parkway cuts through the middle of the park and serves as an orienting feature. There are also full trail maps on the signs by the parking lot trail entrances. A full circumnavigation of the park via the white and yellow trails would probably take 2 hours or more for a steady walker. Be aware there are numerous small streams in the park and the paths can get quite muddy after heavy rains.

Great park for kids. Playground is suited for kids of all ages. They have a smaller playground for younger 2yo-5yo kids. The ground is a synthetic rubber so no mud or puddles to ruin kids play day. Trips also will not cause a scrape or cuts. Swing set has seats for toddlers and normal seats for adults. Bathroom was close by but no baby changing station so be aware you might have to use a table or your car to change a diaper. Parking is free. There are benches and picnic tables to sit at. You are also close to the Saxon woods trailhead if you want to go on a quiet walk in the woods and see nature.

This review is for the dam but more about the lake. It is big, it is beautiful, and it is a place you want to check. And yes, in case you are wondering, to talk worth the drive.Lots of parking, even in the hot days. Lots if beautiful things to do and beautiful places to see. There are many beautiful places outside New York where you can connect to nature and see wild life and little less city concrete (although there is a huge concrete dam lol).I walked for an hour and got into places usually not visited. Sat by the water and watched the fishermen and just breathed the freshness.Worth a drive from the city.

I went on a Sunday, and I got there pretty late around 2:30, the lot was full and they were directing people to park elsewhere, but when I pulled up they actually decided to let a few cars in. So luckily I didnt have to take the shuttle, which would have been inconvenient. I dont have a season pass yet, so I paid the $15 to get in, but you can get a pass made there before 4pm and then its much cheaper to get in. They only accept cash. It was packed, but there was plenty of shaded and non shaded spaces available to lie down. The concession stand has a decent selection, typical for a pool - chicken fingers and fries were $7 and i got a large foutain soda with extra ice. It didnt take too long to get my food. The pool and surrounding area are kept clean. Even the bathrooms were clean. There were a lot of children and a spash park area and also some lanes designated for laps. So I enjoyed my day there, I would come back, and its so much cheaper then joining a private pool so its absolutely worth it.

Ive had the pleasure of participating in all of what this park has to offer. Saxon Woods Park has it all. There is a fine golf course for those who enjoy golf, very busy. There is miniature golf for the family to have fun. It is a ton of fun. There is a magnificent pool, if you like water. There are trails and hikes and beautiful places to camp and have a good time, for nature lovers but no fires, tents or sleepouts. They have a beautiful restaurant that you can enjoy year round, with a good menu. This is a special part of Westchester and it takes only a Westchester pass to be a member of it. You need to find out those intricate details but if you live in Westchester is worth the effort. Other charges apply too. It is conveniently located in the northeast corner of Westchester County bordering Connecticut. It sits in White Plains and is close to Harrison, Porchester, and Rye, New York. Great parking. Good food concessions. Operated well.

Nice pool, large artificial turf soccer field, mini golf and play area for kids. Direct access by Beeline 60 route. Mini golf isnt an elaborate setup, mainly just simple putting. Area overall is small. Biggest concern is large parking area so close to kids playing area. Must be vigilant and make sure no very young kids wander off.
