Friendly staff, some great exhibits and great price.
Great place to view sculpted glass from local DIY and businesses. You can find something for almost any decorative style you have. The reason for four stars are the prices are above most price points that I have seen in similar merchant types and products. Additionally there was little to no help on the merchandise floor for when I had questions.
A need place to stretch your legs when you drive through Wheeling. A bit of a side trip. Got some great deals on sale items for Christmas (for those who shop all year) at the gift store, as well.
Very, very nice. Great displays and a nice tour of their glass blowing studio. The grounds are amazing.
If you even have a small interest in glass and glass the history of the glass business, this is a most stop. Its a great way to spend an afternoon.
It has become a tradition with my son to go to the Festival of Lights every year. We also pick out a hand blown glass bulb every year for our Christmas tree. It has become a special trip for us to make special memories, and one I hope he can carry on.
Loads of fun museum was fan. Dont miss it. Cabins were great. Atmosphere was dreamy. Peaceful. Ppl were friendly. Giftshop is crazy fun too. Wish I could go back
Great place to purchase a unique gift for someone. Just wish they had bigger section dedicated to West Virginia artists.
A wonderful showcase/store upstairs with items to purchase. The real magic is below where there is a beautiful display of glassware and the history to go with it. There is also a glass artist & furnaces on site who does a demonstration and explains the process step by step. We had a young woman who was fantastic & extremely knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the Institute of Glass @ Oglebay.
Had a great time and learned a lot. It was a small museum but it was fun to go through and see all the beautiful and intricate glassware. They also have a in house glass blower that can tell you about the whole process as he makes glass pieces in front of you to be sold upstairs.
Beautiful glass pieces. Freindly staff.
Great family adventure. We go at least once a year
I recently visited the Mansion Museum during the Oglebayfest event. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Savannah Allen who was at the reception desk of the museum. She is a very pleasant and professional addition to your staff who was very attentive to the people who stopped in. She was informative and helpful in answering the questions people were asking. She made my experience and time spent talking with her a pure delight. Please let her know how much I appreciated her time and effort! Sincerely, Brad Ritner, a Wheeling native and former resident of Bridgeport, Ohio.

Awesome people and place! Not pet Friendly
Great place to stop while visiting Ogelbay.
Cool little nick knack shop and neat to see but unless youre a collector it is only am OK visit.
After buying a wristband and checking the time, I went here 30 minutes before closing only to have the curator closing the museum. I was told when nobody shows up by a certain time they close early. I was very upset and disappointed. This person was also sarcastic to me. The only flaw to what had been a nice visit .
Too much glass for me.i felt like a bull in a china shop.there is a lot of nice stuff inside if your into glass
I was absolutely blown away by this establishment!!! Everything was gorgeous and I wanted to buy everything in the store Highly recommended to anyone in the nearby area to take a look!!!
This was a pretty neat little museum. Hands down, the glass blower demonstration was the most interesting. She was making paperweights that day and showed us how she made colored flowers in the glass, how she put multiple layers of glass together to make the object, how she uses tools to shape it and then how it is put in an insulated box to cool overnight. She talked to us and we asked all kinds of questions. In the gift shop, we noticed all the glass was arranged by artist. So we asked which one was the work of the glass blower wed just seen do the demonstration. We were pointed in the right direction and bought one of the pieces shed made. I thought it was really cool to be able to buy something made by the glass blower wed seen and talked to. Theres a range of prices on the gifts in the shop. There are a few cute little items, but some of the larger vases are $80-$350. We noticed that not everything in the gift shop is made there- one section had Polish glass pieces. Anyway, I was wishing some of the vases there were about half the price they actually were. The rest of the museum was neat. It has displays of different types of glass and explains about local companies that made glassware. Unless you are a big glass enthusiast/collector, I suppose there are only so many glass vases and candy dishes you can look at before you might get a little bored. This museum has about that amount. Still, its worth the $7.
Very beautiful pieces. It is well priced
Glass museum is interesting and watching the glass blower was a neat experience.
HAVENT BEEN OGLEBAY SINCE MY DAUGHTER WAS LITTLE! UNFORTUNATELY THE SIGHTS WHERE MUCH BETTER THAN THE FOOD THAT WAS SERVED!
