Wow! What a place. There are so many outstanding items in this beautiful old building, it’s difficult to pick a favorite. The knex and LEGO displays were amazing. You could probably look at the LEGO layout for hours and still not see all the little extras.Lots of fun Halloween and fall decorations throughout the building really added a nice touch. It’s a train aficionados dream. Several rooms with giant layouts could entertain for hours.Definitely a must stop if in the vicinity.
Fantastic collection in a beautiful old original school building. Glad we noticed the sign on the interstate...was a lovely stop to stretch our legs and travel on.
Fun place!! Our kids loved it. I enjoyed trying to find Waldo and his friends through each room while we visited. My son was in love with the model train rooms. Loved visiting here!
A very unique little find. Both my boys loved the museum. So many unique pieces and things to look at. We enjoyed our visit very much. We will be back one day in the future.
Great place & super fun to go to! Only problem is a couple rooms arent all the way set up yet & not closed off. It just seems a bit dangerous to leave the unfinished rooms open.Other than that, fantastic place to go!
Had a great time with my grandson at the Toy and Train Museum! He loved the race cars, trains and pinball machines!
What a wonderful place! If you dont find EXACTLY what toy you played with as a kid, then you werent a kid! So much to see and explore with - give yourself about 2 hours for the fun!
Great museum like reliving my childhood and more
Awesome museum. If anyone in your party likes trains, youll love this. If anyone likes cars, youll love it. Like pinball? This is your place. How about knex? You got it. Slot cars? You know it. Lots of cool stuff to look at but even better, stuff to play with! Kids off all ages will have a great time. Highly recommend this as a stop unless youre just no fun at all.
This is a great little museum! There is a great mix of older toys with many more modern. There is a lot of character and a lot of things to touch or interact with. You have to meet Loo the cat, of course. This is a great place to stop and support and I expect we will keep going back occasionally for the laid back fun this place provides.
We love this place! We take our 3-1/2 year old as much as possible. He’s obsessed with trains and adores it here. It’s also nostalgic and relaxing for us adults as well. Lots of reminiscing in the old toy exhibits...hands on play for the little ones. We usually spend 2-3 hours here. Groupon has a great deal on tickets!
Centrally located in the Wheeling community. The admission is nominal in comparisons to other museums. They have a vast toy display spanning from the 1920s-Present. Displays rotate. They also showcase lots of other historical items from the Ohio Valley region.
Excellent. Highly recommended.
Unbelievable toy collection!
Seeing the smile my son had on his face at Kruger street train. Priceless
This toy museum is absolutely incredible...theres nothing more to say other than expect to spend some time there (due to the fun), expect to see a toy you had, expect to be wowd, and expect to leave with a smile on your face....do yourself a favor and DONT miss this place!
Very cool place,
Amazing hidden gem! Kids and adults both loved it. Great experience especially for the price!
Very nice place. Loo is the friendliest cat. Took my 11 yr old there on his birthday. He loved it.
Definitely an interesting place to pay a visit if youre in the area. The old school building is interesting to see, and they have a lot of cool, old toys on display. Loved the pinball machines too. The staff was also very courteous and helpful with information on events in the area. Keep an eye out for Loo, one of the friendliest felines youll ever meet who roams the premises. FYI: They offer a 10% AAA discount.
Really enjoyed it. Would like to go back and spend more time.
My fiance surprised me with a visit here. We had a blast checking out all the vintage toys. It brought back loads of old memories from our childhoods.
What nostalgia, looking back on decades of toy history! My wife loved the dolls room, I loved the Matchbox cars oom, and we both enjoyed pinball, board games, and other showcased treasures. You can get a caboose tour as well to top off a memorable visit!
A walk down memory lane for this Gen Xer and her Boomer mom. Interactive fun for the kids, too!
Had wonderful time great for kids and adult free pinball had a blast
Some very interesting old toys, trains, and train equipment to view. Also toy trains to try out. Lots of different bygone era things to look at that will bring back childhood memories.
Very interesting with lots of hands on experiences. Good for toy buffs and kids. Might be one in the same.
I really dont know how anyone could ever give this place a bad review. This is our second time and we always love it.
What a diamond in the rough!! Toys, dolls, trains, etc. Was a real trip down memory lane. Even though there are fun interactive things for the little ones, this place is fabulous for adults. You have to see this place to believe it. Wonderful old school building.
Its alwaya neat to see old toys set up like they are ready to be played with
Awesome museum for anyone who likes toys. I went there this year for there annual train show was very disappointed very poor turnout of vendors probably will not go next year.
Perfect place for children to explore n play
Great interactive displays of different trains. Very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely a must visit when youre in the area.
Wasn’t good at all nothing worked and was a waste of 10$
It is a cool place to learn about the toys that were made in this area. It is a great place.
Really fun time for adults and kids alike!
Very cool place. Lots of toys and the kids get to play with some things as well.
Amazing place!!! We will definitely come back. Try Groupon for tickets. They have really good deals online.
Each room was packed with working models and each wall covered with display cases. Most of the rooms had toys for the kids to play with. We had a birthday party there and had a room to ourselves with admission to the museum too. All the kids loved it!! Highly recommended!!!
I hoped for better exhibits but it was still a great time. Well worth the price of admission. I would have liked to have seen more Marx playsets and space and robot toys. The collection of individual Marx miniatures was very good. I was unaware of the existence of the spicy American Beauties series.
We took my grandson and he absolutely loved it. They have so many older toys I havent seen in years. We enjoyed it very much.
My husband and I went here while we celebrated our honeymoon. On our car it said just married as we looked at the museum the owner came up to us and said, are you by chance the newly weds? We replied yes. He then said follow me to the gift shop..so we did and he said i like to treat all my guest special but.my special special guests such as you i woukd like to treat better. Please help yourself to a free gift. He then gave us a locally blown glass flower for free. This was a great expirience and thr hospitality was amazing. The museum itselfboffered hands on fun along with activities to do through out. I highly reccomend this place for EVERYONE. Thank you Kruger Street Museum for such a great time!!
This place is a great treasure in a small town. Has an incredible amount of hands on and display items. Really enjoyed it and it’s worth the time to stop in
Wonderful little place to take the kids and relive memories of toys past. Plenty of things the kids are welcome to touch .
This place is awesome! I was worried that this museum wouldnt be as much fun as my kids expected, but I ended up having a hard time convincing them to leave! The rooms downstairs have cases along the walls with a variety of vintage toys and games (which I found fascinating), and in the middle of each room was something interactive for the kids to do, which they loved! The Lego dump trucks were a favorite. We all loved playing the pinball machines in the main room, and the nickelodeon was neat to watch, too!Upstairs is trains and remote controlled cars. I loved how the trains were set up with a variety of buttons to push to make different things move, and the kids loved the dark room with the lighted amusement park rides. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. Oh, and brownie points for having chairs in each room so that parents could rest if the kids got really interested in playing with something. I dont think Ive ever seen anyplace else offer that, and i definitely appreciated it!I would recommend this place to anyone!
Our son does enjoy it here. The staff is very friendly. I wish the Kinects room was finished it was 6 months between visits and it still wasnt finished. Also some of the train buttons were not functioning in the o gauge train room. Other than that its a good place to visit.
I could spend all day here. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often.
Coming here you are going to see lots of toys from your childhood, maybe your parents and kids childhood too! There are toys young kids can play with to keep them busy while you look around the exhibits around the edges of the rooms. The train exhibits have fun set ups to keep kids busy as well, like can you find the 15 dinosaurs. They now have a cat here, Loo, named after the famous railroad cat, and pinball machines that you can play for free / donation. This place has a very interesting collection: trains, Lego trains, dolls, and miniatures. The earliest toys I saw were from the 50s, but I likely missed some. There is also some history about China and real trains. You could come here and spend hours. My favorite area was the kinex roller coasters set up as a miniature exhibit.
What a great way to spend the afternoon. We used a Groupon and it was only 5$ each. There are 10 different rooms to explore with a kids play area in each. There are also too many to count displays everywhere else. Look for Waldo, there are five or dinosaurs in the train room upstairs (I think there were 15). The gift shop is stocked and very well priced. You cannot go wrong with a visit.
Fun place for a short visit. Great for kids from 3 to 11. Displays are neat, lots of rooms, lots of interactive exibits but some were out of order but enough to see and have a good time. Be sure to say hi to Loo!
Much larger collection than we imagined! No handicap accessible really though... Each room has items you can play with, hands-on.... Some train displays needed repaired and were not running that day... Some displays still being built... Well worth the $10 admission price though!
Great toys, incredible history laid out in a really satisfying way
This is not just fun for children. It is wonderful for adults as well. Lady at pay station was helpful. Exhibits werefin. Collections are awesome. Dont miss it. Even the gift shop has several unique gifts.
An experience like no other -- there are a lot of hands on opportunities here -- we were two seniors looking at items we had when we were children -- many items we had for our children -- saw I think 4 or 5 different versions of Candyland -- the new boards a so cluttered compared to back in the day -- no wonder children today have attention and patience issues -- also had a good selection of items our parents played with -- cant imagine anything that was ever in someones toy box that they didnt have at least one of -- there is a display of plastic Kinects that is worth the price of admission on its own -- lived in Pittsburgh for almost 70 years and never heard of this place -- waiting anxiously for my granddaughters to visit so I can go with them and see it through their eyes
This place is awesome! I went to school in this building and hadnt been back since I graduated. Once inside the door the memories came flooding back of teachers and friends long ago. The toy and train collections are incredible. I got a tour of the collection and the building that I will never forget. Many thanks to the staff for their time and the personalized tour AND to the owner, who saved this building from demolition. This building (and a few others) represent Elm Groves history and should be preserved. Well worth a visit!
So much more then we expected. Very friendly staff. So much to see. They even have little plastic step ups for kids to carry around and use to help them see the train displays. Nice touch. Well done.
Great mix of exhibits, wonderfully done.
Overpriced for what there is to see. Many portions of the live action displays were non-functional.
This place is amazing! It is family friendly and has a cat in residence. Its like walking through my childhood. All my old friends are there and then some. They keep changing it to make it fresh.
Great place to bring your kids (or if your nostalgic at all)
My son really likes this place been there 5 times.
An interesting old school house converted to a toy museum with the friendliest cat in the universe that roams the building
GREAT PLACE TO GO TO.
This place is really so extremely awesome. Plus a super friendly cat!
Neat museum. They have some pin ball machines setup that you can play. There is a house cat that roams the museum too. Friendly staff.
Awesome toy and train museum. Lots of fun stuff to do. Cheap Groupon deal. The cat is friendly there too and will follow you around. Stop by if you can!
Amazing place to spend an hour or two in the afternoon. So many fun things to see and do
Definitely a must see for anyone who was ever a kid! An amazing trip down memory lane!
Lots to see love it!
Our son is almost 2 years old and he loved every room. Great for nostalgic adults, too!
Outstanding experience! Fun for all ages. We will definitely come back.
The kids loved it a little over price and some stuff didn’t work but I would definitely return
So much fun, great walk down Memory Lane. Areas for kids to play. Highly recommend
Very cool how they used the schools layout. They had great displays while leaving toys for the little ones to play with. The KNex roller coasters need to be tended to, only one coaster was working. Looking forward to the 2 coasters they are working on :)My favorite exhibit item: the stick. Lol! Fun little place to visit.
Absolutely the best kept secret in Wheeling. There is something for everyone. The staff was wonderful. The kids and the grown ups had a great time.
Lots of toys from the 50s-90s. Great place to visit and get nostalgic.
Awsome place to take family to.
Charming toy and train museum. Re-live your childhood in this entertaining place which is housed in an old school building.
My 8 year old and I had a blast! The pinball machines were our favorite!
Great for kids of all ages! Hands on areas for little ones
Especially if youre 40 or older this place will take you back to your childhood Christmases and the toys Santa left under the tree. The museum is in an old school building, with 4 rooms of toys on each of its 2 floors. Brought back a lot of memories!
Really nice pieces and history notes on them. Had a great time talking to Allen
We liked it. Our grandson did too. Tons to look at and do.
Very clean and organized
Great game we use to have as kids. Nice trains. Lego platform. Pinball machines.
Great toy museum
A great place for kids 3to 45 years old I had a great time with my family I feel like a kid again loved it
It was awesome! Little loved it
Great experience and staff!
Place will be good for the first time visit... Many rooms are still under construction
