This is one of the sickest spots in town. We go on our free time, for special occasions and when we have people in from out of town. The game selection is diverse, but stays true to the old school games, giving it a nostalgic feel. Id say the play price is worth it and we usually stay for a pretty good chunk of time, I mean, it can be hard to leave! The cocktail menu is named after video game characters and from the handful Ive actually tried, they taste awesome as well, but can be a little pricey depending on what youre getting. If youre not a specialty drink enthusiast, the beer selection isnt disappointing in the slightest. I would recommend bringing along your own controller if you want to get in on game nights where console play is in full force, because the people who have been doing this for a while are not going to share.

What a fun environment. The games, the drinks...it was a complete theme of unexpected arcade enjoyment.

The worst service I have ever had. Went with a group of friends for a birthday. The place was not busy and there were only six of us. The bartender was rude and ignoring us. She didnt want to give my wife water. My friend got kicked out because the bartender argued with him about customer service. Wont go back. Sad thing is over half of our group all work in the industry and we got treated like dirt. The house mixed drinks were poured terrible and we all left that night in agreement that we would never come back when that bartender was working. Im sad because its a cool spot and would like to go back.

The Kirby mixed drink is heaven in a glass! Drink it! Drink 10 (responsibly)! There is a large selection of fighting games as well, and the staff are always really nice! I love this place!

09/20/2020 Update: Last night my wife and I went to Akihabara Arcade under new COVID safety guidelines and I have to say we felt really safe, and on top of that really enjoyed ourselves! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ARCADE!!!I always have a blast here, its so rare that you get to walk into a bar and live the glory days of old school Japanese arcade gaming IN THE USA. What are the odds? Consider yourself lucky that a barcade like this even exist here in Colorado. Do yourself a favor, set aside a few hours of your day and just have a blast here.

Definitely on the smaller side and not as many games as Id like, but it is cheaper than the other ones so I cant complain. Otherwise nice.

Wanted it to be better than it was. Great idea and they have some great craft beer options but way too expensive. Perfect place for 30 year old virgins to hang out (as thats what nearly everyone in there appears to be).

Pretty much the coolest arcade around. Im not the biggest fan of arcades inside bars, however, Akihabara is an arcade with a bar inside. A fine distinction that makes all the difference. The Japanese games are a blast.

Great place to go and have fun. They have different Japanese drinks whitch is cool. There are a good amount of games. They majority are fighting games but there are some other gems.

If your an Anime or even Video Game fan you have to come visit this place! Your sure to find something you enjoy!

They have a wonderful assortment of 80s arcade games and older. And they still cost only a quarter! A great place for a nostalgic couple of hours.

Best barcade in Denver! Creative drinks and fun games. They even let you do whatever you need for food! Reasonable prices for both the food and the games. Havent had a chance to enter the tournaments yet but Ive been here during them and this place gets packed!

This place hosts video gaming tournaments and has awesome arcades and a full bar. The guys that run the tournaments are outstanding and dedicated to a great experience for gamers and fans alike.

Definitely one of my favorite escapes from the normal nightlife scene. Akihabara truly has the nostalgic gamer in mind. Featuring two rooms of Japanese imported coin operated cabinets, festive drink concoctions, and tournaments for those hardcore gamers. If Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, or Initial D sounds like a good time to you Akihabara is a must visit!

Fun place, however there was only one person working. I waited at the bar for her to finish with the one other customer at the bar. As she wrapped up with him, some regulars came in & she skipped me to help people she knew. Very rude & unprofessional. She also charged more for the drinks than they are priced on the menu board. Would NOT reccomend.

We stop here frequently on the way back to da burbs from Denver. One of my favorite barcades with v unique and cute Japanese games. Sometimes smells like blood sweat n tears but its all part of the experience, eh?

LOVE this place. So many good games and theyre all the Japanese cabs. My favorite place to grab a cocktail and work on my Crazy Taxi high score. Taiko drums are super fun too.

A truly fun and unique place! This place has a great selection of rotating beers, game themed cocktails, and Japanese arcade games. The prices are fair and the staff is fantastic (though, Im biased ). I definitely recommend Aki to anyone that loves arcade games or is just simply looking for a change in scenery from the typical bars.

Cool spot! Plenty of Japanese arcade games to play. I found myself being here for hours and not even realizing so make sure that you have the time to spare. Really fortunate to have a place like this to go to.

I always have wayyyyyy too much fun when I come here and while I feel terrible today it all somehow seems worth it. It is cool that there is a bar so if you are bored of playing games you can just chill, but majority of people there are definitely there to play some games. My favorite are Mario Kart and Taiko Drum MasterBartenders are always fantastic as well and make everyone feel welcome.

Finally!! What an awesome concept! Thank you so much for building this bar! Really fun hangout for anyone looking for a nerd hangout or just something different. Machines are fun and only A QUARTER (thank you!!). Plenty of open space to sit or mingle if not playing one of the arcades. Drink prices are really good, on point with the rest of Westminster and taps are .Two things ::1) I will HAPPILY revise this once your bartenders figure it out. I get it was busy but I was standing at the bar for 15 minutes holding cash before I was served a beer. Watching the tap pours was a little painful as well.2) 5 stars if you guys upgrade the A/V gear. Lacks any sort of music, if they start bringing in DJs or something I hope they upgrade their setup first.Would love to see you guys host events, game launches, anime nights, tap takeovers and more!!Again thank you for making this a reality! Cannot wait to see what Akihabara grows into!

By far home of Denvers most beautiful and friendly bar tenders! Theyll make you feel like a regular even if its your first time visiting.Music is a good blend ranging from bayside to cherub. Tournament nights get busy but theyre a blast!This place just keeps getting better, Brandon the owner rotates cabinets to keep it fresh. They are expanding and theyre jalapeno pickle shots are always on point.The vibes are always good, what else could you ask for? Dont be shy, check em out!

Fun little Japanese-style arcade. Was in Akihabara in Japan a few months ago and theyre definitely evoking the vibe of that city. Mostly older sit down style arcade cabinets. Games are .25 each. Bar that has beer and sake and energy drinks. Minus 1 star for seriously needing some more A/C, it was hot in there! Played fighting games for an hour or so.

They got a Crazy Taxi arcade. Thats all I need! Service is always awesome. Always fun to visit.

This is pretty much my favorite place to hang out. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, as is the regular crowd. The owner, Brandon, takes excellent care of the machines and will often fix any issues with them on the spot if hes able. This is way better than other arcade/bars where the machines are clearly there as a second thought and are often in terrible condition.

One of the loudest places I’ve ever been in my life. It was nice to sit and play Tetris “primarily because that was one of the only enjoyable games they had” but was overwhelmed at how loud all the other Asian games were volumed. Staff was pleasant but just fairly dull games. #tetrishighscore

I love this place! Always a great time, great service, and easily the best barcade in the area.

Fun arcade games, but most of them are in Japanese and therefore very difficult to learn even with a tutorial. The staff were friendly and gave our non-drinking friend free Coke while we were there. I went in the winter on a really cold day and it is freezing in there, so bring a jacket.

Favorite place to go play arcades in Colorado now that I moved here from Austin. Was missing out on a Japanese styled arcade and this one even serves BEER! Saw they recently got the Initial D racing stands in and I cant wait for them to be setup...! highly recommend

Well maintained games. The owner is clearly a lifelong fan or arcade games and cares about quality. Impressive selection to start including a couple of my absolute favorite classics including Ghouls n Ghosts!There are a couple of free games that apparently rotate which is super cool. Everything else is only a quarter a play. Super impressed.

Going to Akihabara for the first time was the best damn choice I ever made. I go there literally every weekend and have made some of my closest friends there. Give it a shot. You wont regret it.

This is one of my favorite hidden gems in the denver area. Its unlike any other barcade. The eclectic selection of games is well chosen. Even if you dont like games it had a cool eclectic crowd, great staff, and just cool environment. Definitely worth a visit!

Went in with my brother yesterday to check it out. Seemed like a really relaxed bar with a bunch of cool games.Had a bit of a misunderstanding with the bartender regarding my Arizona license, but thankfully it got resolved. I was afraid I was going to get kicked out! Im sorry my state makes my license expire in like 2060 haha.I didnt get to try the food but I decided on trying some beer. I believe my bartender gave me the petit sour raspberry and it was great! After I drank my beer I decided to play some of the games with my brother and explore a bit. Overall its a fun bar to visit and I would definitely come back again.

Fun games, good beer, and easy to access. They have a lot of shooters and fighting games. There are tables you can hang or play board games on. The beer was pretty awesome, the 11% imperial stout was good stuff. The bar was really clean.

We typically go on Wednesday to avoid the crowd but even on busy nights this place is amazing. Brandon (the owner) is super nice and will actually hold a conversation with customers. Great place!

Fun bar. Great beer on tap all micro brews. I love the giant Nintendo controller and projector with old school Nintendo games. I will be coming back often.Edit: it has been about a year since this place has opened and they have added more tap and drinks plus about 15 more games. Soild place to kill a few hour or bring your friends some some competition

So much fun! We went with a large group and there was tons to do. From DDR to a co-op drumming game. Old-school games to the newest stuff. The bar had a huge selection including ramune for those that dont drink. :) we spent several hours here and could have continued to spend longer. They have lots of fully stocked change machines so you dont have to stress about bringing quarters.
