This place was so cozy and inviting! The best lavender cold brew Ive had. I posted a pic of the lavender honey latte I had too! And little gifts to buy and had a fabulous panini! But even better was how friendly and caring the crew was! Definitely a place worth visiting!
They have the worst green tea latte Ive ever had in my whole life. i saw the green tea leaves floating in the milk. How they made the tea was that they put tea bag in hot water and add whole milk into the cup. They charged me 5.38 dollars for the green tea latte.
What more could you ask from a local coffee shop? Their coffee is roasted in house. The owner goes on coffee buying trips personally. They support local artists giving them a place to display and perform! HUGE supporters of their community. Did I mention the best coffee in Columbus!GREAT LOCAL BUSINESS!
I’ve been coming here for years. It’s such a chill spot, tightly tucked away in a vibrant and alive community. The coffee shoppe serves your typical java selection, latte art included. The service is fast and friendly. There are plenty of chairs, tables, and couch type seating inside; which helps when meeting with friends for a chat or doing homework while sustaining your java-drip. There’s frequent live music acts and plenty of seating outside for when the weather warms up.This is where I usually meet my friends before we start our shenanigan, java fuelled day.
Today 09/16/20 was my first visit and loved it immediately after tasting my first sip of Caffe Latte. Also got Caramel macchiato and Hot Chocolate and my family loved them. Will definitely visit again and would strongly recommend this place for Cafe Latte!
Too much voices makes me feel not security to walk in. I used go there but now I stop going after today. I rather to keep low profile public so we dont know who people are.
Friendly staff and creative drinks. Almost always have gluten-free and vegan options for food and snacks.
Cute atmosphere but the espresso was just ok and the barista was rude. She sighed loudly at me as I was backing out the door with m stroller and then she proceeded to step over it, And my baby was in it! A sign at the counter said be kind or come back when you can be. That should go for the employees as well! She was not nice.
I love the frozen buckeye mocha. Ive been going to Java for years, lots of good memories.
Great coffee and live music! I go to see my friend Luke Mossburg there all the time. Highly recommend
Coffee is phenomenal and the pastries are delicious. Much like other less than 5 star reviews, Ive found that certain baristas are rude and dismissive. The products are top notch, but if you go in and get treated like a hindrance, its not worth it.
Nice cafe with tasty drinks. A little pricey but that seems how all coffee shops are.
Delicious cold brew that was given to me despite showing up after closing hours. I didn’t realize the business was closed, but the friendly staff offered to make me coffee anyways. They even have a lovely outdoor courtyard to drink the coffee in. I will be returning!
Awesome coffeeshop in Uptown Westerville!First time I have had a chance to stop in. They had live music for the first time out on their back patio (String Theory), and very very friendly staff... with an excellent frozen mocha!!They support their community in many ways, and it was a great pleasure to stop in
Calm and cozy cafe.Wide variety of espresso drinks. Buckeye latte was amazing as usual.Lots of bakery items and sandwiches as well, chicken salad on croissant and blueberry coffee cake were delicious.Plenty of space available for group work or even individual studies.Ambience Quite different when compared to that of regular cafes.
Probably the best place in Westerville for high quality coffee. Every time I visit, the staff are hit or miss; sometimes the baristas are kind and welcoming, other times they are cold and dismissive.I like to purchase their whole bean coffee bags because theyre so freshly roasted and contain higher quality beans than grocers that make for robust flavors. Its more expensive for the same amount of coffee, but I definitely feel Im getting what I pay for. Last time, unfortunately some rocks made their way into my bag. Luckily, I discovered this while using my hand grinder as I imagine this would have ruined an electric grinder. Im on the fence about buying coffee beans here again but thought I should share this review with the business in hopes they can avoid ruining their own machinery.
The atmosphere is pretty calm, cozy, and quiet. The place is pretty cute and nice to hang out in. Theres plenty of room, private WiFi, Uptown parking, and a decent amount of choices to choose from. Some of the downsizes are the prices, the flavor, and the lack of AC. It was so hot the day I came in, but there was no air conditioning. You can also sit outside on the side patio! The staff members are very friendly and accommodating.I recommend this place for groups, casual dates, quick coffee, and a quick bite. Theres not super special about this place, but it has a very neighborhood feel, which I like.
My favorite coffee shop! The best food and drinks in town. The only coffee shop Ill go to. Such a cute shop and chill vibe! I always go here on sundays and it never disappoints. Best chi tea late Ive ever had!
Great coffee shop in Westerville. The staff is friendly and happy to assist from the owner to the baristas.Check out their nitro cold brew, its smooth, but still has the robustness a pure brewed coffee should have. They brew coffee in house from Puerto Rico, Columbia and several other countries where one of the owners travelled to see their processes and build relationships with the growers first hand and ensure that they recieve the profits vs some third party Corporation. They have live music frequently and support an array of local artists and charities.Definitely a chill spot to go and see.
Great food and drinks. The service was great ! I love the rooms and paintings.
Joni, the manager, and her staff catered my small wedding with such artful perfection. They went above and beyond! It was an informal yet beautiful day and they took such great care of our guests. Each person had their coffee and teas poured to perfection and their food served with such care.Joni took great care to sit with me and talk about food allergies and what type of brunch we wanted. We are so impressed and happy with her. She’s thoughtful, considerate and fantastic in her store and in her catering. Well done!
They always have vegan treats available, and their grasshopper mocha is a personal favorite. I go back often, and now living even closer to them is a better reason to frequent.
Very quaint. Excellent outside seating. Very good coffee.
A nice small business coffee shoppe. The coffee we ordered was hot and robust flavor. The size of coffee cup and price was fair. Always needs improvement and they will continue in future to succeed. Support this company and staff.
I stopped by only to find out they had just closed so i paused to find a new place and the worker came out and offered to make me a drink and was super friendly! best experience at a coffee place :)
Nice coffee shop in downtown Westerville. Always a good choice
Really enjoyed my coffee, quick and friendly service. I purchased a regular latte, could have been a little warmer but was made very well and had great flavor. My child got an iced vanilla bean latte and it had a great flavor to it, but didnt want to drink the last bit due to the vanilla texture at the bottom.Shop could use some work, for the location I suppose I expected it to be nicer looking inside. Chairs were frayed and tables not so clean looking, parts of the paint on the walls were broken off.Tons of people in there for a Sunday, so it is a popular place just could use some updates to go with the coffee.
Very overpriced. $5+ for a scone. $3-4 for a cup of tea or drip coffee. The place feels very run down, kind of dive-y. I just think its too expensive for the type of atmosphere it has. Too bad. Its in a great location and hosts cool events at times.
Best coffee joint in Columbus area.
This is a great place to get coffee and spend sometime. I love the size of the seating area both inside and out. The staff is amazing! They were so helpful with my fiance picking out an iced tea. They are also very knowledgeable about their product. The owners themselves are amazing people. We love to visit here as often as we can.
Java central is the cutest place to drink coffee. The staff is very friendly and the coffee is great too. They have gluten free baked goods, which are delicious. They have regular baked goods too, I cant speak to how they taste but they look good!
Love the coffee and the live music. There seems to be something for everyone every night of the week. Quite trendy for the college crowds.
Coffee was good. They roast their own coffee on site. They also have a large variety of specialty drinks. They have nitro coffee on tap too, which is pretty unique. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Price is kind of expensive compared to some other coffee shops, but, if you dont mind that, I would reccomend checking this place out.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff
My happy place! I’ve introduced many of family/friends here who have fallen in love! This place is unique and unlike any other coffee shop I’ve personally been to, (which is a lot). The choices are personalized with fun names instead of the boring basic ones. Perfect for sitting outside with lots of shade!
Huge fan of Java Central’s chai tea and Vanilla Lattes! It’s also just a great place in Westerville to sit down and talk! The owners and staff are fantastic. The folks behind the counter always know what I want before I even make it to the counter!
Great coffee, cozy atmosphere. It can get a little loud at times inside but it does have a cute patio area. Service was quick and attentive as well as friendly.
A favorite in the Old Westerville area. Popular with Otterbein college students. Its my kind of college shop, cozy. Its perfect for spending hours chatting with friends, or working on a laptop. I like the friendsly staff and that they support local businesses (Patty cake bakery) through selling their goods. I always have a fun, peaceful time.
I love this spot! Great service. Relaxing artistic environment. Felt like I was in someones living room
Expensive. Prices have nearly doubled just within the 2 weeks Ive started coming to this place, which is rather surprising. $4 for plain drip coffee? As a digital nomad, Ill have to find another place to perch. Unfortunate, because the cozy atmosphere and roomy space is close to perfect for working undistracted. The staff is friendly and the older patrons that visit are down-right adorable. But youll be pinched $10 for a coffee and nibble. Even Starbucks is cheaper. (Le sigh) I definitely recommend visiting, but be prepared for sticker shock.
It was my home for my years from middle school - highschool. Which I apologize for all the cringe and trouble I might have made during then. It’s got great coffee, great people and a great community.
As others have said it’s relatively expensive, but imo completely worth it, and not just because the coffee is good. The staff is friendly and personable, the place has a really nice, welcoming atmosphere, and it’s just a good spot to hang out and get work done.
I love this place. Its like drinking yummy tea in a cozy corner in your home. Plus, Jeremy was super friendly and helpful. Go, Java, go!
Lets get serious about coffee for a second. This place has the coffee you want. From drip to pour-over to cold brew to espresso - they have it all! You want a cold brew and you want a little extra cream? Done. You like your coffee black and rich? Theyll do that, too.For the coffee haters out there: they have tea, iced tea, and hot chocolate as well. They staff are friendly, and although they joke around, they take the coffee serious. This place has many cozy nooks and crannies within. Perfect for studying, meeting someone new, or catching up with good friends!
Its a nice quiet place to meet up or focus on a project. The coffee is pretty good.
Lovely location in Uptown Westerville. Very friendly staff. Casual, with comfy chairs. Prices are high. A 16-oz iced tea cost me $5 so I skipped the $4 cookie.
Nice old town coffeehouse
Java is a great place to go if you need a spot to be productive or have a good conversation with a friend. The coffee is always good and the staff is always friendly and quick to interact with customers. Would highly recommend Java Central!
Awesome local coffee shop that specializes in high quality coffee. I left with a Costa Rican Tarrazu dark roast that was so smooth it was like silk. Definitely will be back to visit for fresh roasted beans and excellent drip coffee.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. We love the local artist performances and their outdoor seating has incredible atmosphere.
Earl Grey Latte is really nice here. Cozy, friendly atmosphere.
Great place for coffee and muffins. Friendly staff and a good place to hang out with friends
Nice cozy coffee house with a decent variety of drinks on the menu. The best part is the live music that they host. Always great talent!
Open mic on friday nights is amazing as well as the coffee and people making it happen.
Great variety of coffee and coffee related drinks, including nitro brews. The breakfast sandwiches and pastries are also really good!
Excellent and quick service. Great selection of hot and some cold beverages. The location is great to either to grab-and-go or spend some quality time in the several unique spaces.
Havent been to Java Central in a while but I love that place a great place for an open mic
I am not a great fan of the coffee but the room inside is a nice quiet place to meet, parking available in the back and a good selection of snacks.
Fantastic local coffee shop with a great layout and plenty 9f places to tuck yourself away and read/study/work/whatever.
Great ambiance, and an extremely friendly staff. They have wonderful drinks that anyone could enjoy, I personally had the frozen buckeye mocha, and it was fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good drink, and quiet study or relaxing place, or friendly and great service.
Love the coffee and the food but when you order food it takes a verrrryyyy long time please fix this I love you guys!!!!
They have cool coffees and teas and theyre a small shop with nice people who work there. Ill take it.
Best coffee hands down. Love the atmosphere!! Great customer service!
The most foamless and bitter cappuccino Ive ever seen. Youre better off spending those 4 dollars with Starbucks or Tim Hortons across the block.
Great coffee!! The employees are very friendly. The back room is nice and cozy.
Great coffee/latte especially an iced one on these hot days. People are really nice, and I like how they play a lot of indie rock and alternative that give a place a different vibe and feeling.
My sandwich was great! My coffee was delicious! And Lil Red & the Rooster were amazing. Pretty sweet night.
Lavender cold brew!? Uh yes please (w almond milk) This stuff is amazing! The veggie quiche was very yummy, and all the other treats looked delish too. When he gave me the order, the barista said, Here you go, love, and it made me feel super warm and fuzzy. Seated outside in the shade, I could not ask for a better spot to work.
Love it! Excellent little shop. Beats Starbucks any day. Cute local place definitely worth checking out. The nitro cold brew is awesome.
One of my favorite coffee shops. Their espresso and regular coffee are always great. Super nice people working there!
What a quaint, hip place! Had cardamom rose latte, which was a good choice.
Skilled baristas. I loved the cappuccino coffee and breakfast sandwiches.
Its a hip uptown coffee hangout with a large selection of coffee, tea, goodies and some merchandise like T-shirts and mugs. There are nooks with comfortable chairs and outside seating. The brunette barista was hotter than the coffee.
Very nice and warm and cozy. They have a variety of specialty coffee drinks and teas. They also have seen fresh pastries and cold sandwiches. I love the ambiance and comfortable chairs. I try to meet some friends here regularly. We are never disappointed. The staff is friendly.
Their cappuccino is delicious!!! Tonight they had a live band playing and it sounded great. Really small building and space is limited right near the band but you can still hear the music.
Raised prices for drip coffee to $4. The coffee is good and I like the staff and atmosphere, but cant justify the price raise when it was $2 and change a week ago and I can get a specialty coffee or espresso for less at just about any other local roaster or similar quality coffee shop
Great local coffee shop. Also have a good selection of teas. Indy feel. Good place to meet up especially in the morning.
Atmosphere is perfect for many situations! Meetings, dates, studying, relaxing!
Love this place, its always so chill in there... I dont know how they do it.
The coziest cafe in the Columbus area, full of comfy chairs, mood lighting and yummy drinks
My go to coffee shop. its cozy and chill and theres an open mic night every Friday at 7pm thats very fun! theres live music on Saturday nights too. The baristas and owner and are very kind and laid back. Ive spend at least one night here most weeks for the past 3 years
Best cold brew nitro in town! Everything is awesome, especially the people.
Great atmosphere. People were friendly. Coffee was good.
Great local coffee shop with great service and a cool atmosphere.
This is a Great Spot for Java & Jazz which were both excellent & everyone is friendly. I will return. Thank you, Red fabulous set!!
Great little coffee shop right in Westerville downtown close to Otterbein campus. Within walking distance of Otterbein. Very eclectic mix of rooms and seating. Clean bathroom. The staff has always been friendly and they have a nice selection of drinks. My only gripe is wish they were open later is all.
Their gluten-free chocolate peanut butter cupcakes are the best cupcakes Ive ever tasted (and I dont have gluten issues, I eat anything). It was heavenly! Herbal chamomile + mint tea was also nice. I admire a place that offers complimentary water.
Always friendly. Nice atmosphere to sit and relax with plenty of seating or just grab a cup and go. Parking might be tricky but its worth the stop.
Coffee is always delicious, and they have vegan donuts from Destination Donuts on the weekend!
This is some next level stuff. If Hemingway was still alive he would probably get his coffee here. The Cortado is a work of art, a must-have!
This was such a fun place to hang out. I wasnt sure what I wanted to drink, but the staff there was so friendly and gave a great recommendation! Try the Buckeye Mocha if you get a chance!
Stumbled across this gem completely by chance and fell head over heels for their Cuban coffee. Its the real deal. Also, props for having Pattycake Bakery options!
