I discovered David Myers studio during an exploratory trip to Westerville Uptown when I moved to the Columbus area a year and a half ago. I am an artist who hasnt picked up a brush in years. With Davids talent, encouragement and guidance I have been able to tap into my inner artist and am back to painting in a way I never imagined. David is very talented, experienced and has a subtle way of inspiring and supporting through any block or distraction. His guidance and instruction has opened the door for me to confidently view myself as an artist all the while helping me through emotional detours. I am able to interpret the art I produce in ways I never saw before. David also has many beautiful pieces for sale and does beautiful framing!

David Myers has a way of getting right down to the core of what makes you YOU and works from that place to empower you and instill a rooted sense of confidence in yourself as a human and as an artist. I can truly say that working with David (which hasn’t been very long, time wise) has truly changed my life! I highly recommend his classes to anyone with even an inkling of an interest in art!

I have the pleasure of working with David for 7+ years now. David has consistently demonstrated patience in working with seniors from our community. He provides them an opportunity to embrace transitions in life, pursue purpose in their senior years and to trust their instincts.Most impressively, David continues to instruct based on critical thinking. Being in his studio is a refreshing experience; one can slow down, experience what it is to think critically, allow solutions to come through the evaluation of circumstances and determine to make quality choices in life and art. Discovery, problem solving, confidence and trust are built on a relationship that allows ongoing conversation. My seniors and I thank David for allowing us to have that ongoing conversation and allowing us to discover what it is to create, embrace and be inspired and to be an inspiration.

David has built much more than an Art Gallery. He listens, instructs, coaches, advises and makes the experience very personal. You can pick up a brush if you want to, but I have visited his Gallery numerous times just to sit with him for a while and talk about life. On every level I have had a positive, therapeutic experience. Highly recommend!

Update to original 1-star review :Shortly after posting my review here, David sent a letter of apology to us which seemed to be very sincere, taking full responsibility for his actions. Along with his letter he sent another check, refunding the rest of what we had paid him and then some, and he also offered to do another lesson without charge. While our experience was very bad, he did the right thing in the end to make it right as best he could.Thank you, David.-----------------------------------------This is my original review, which was 1-star:I never like to say something negative about anyone, so I write this review reluctantly, but maybe by writing this I will save someone else from the experience we had. I cannot remember a time I have been treated so rudely.If you are going to hire him, make sure that you and/or your student is very clear with him about what you want to work on, not only ahead of time, but at the beginning of every lesson.We hired David to teach my daughter watercolor, which she has no experience with. We were very specific about this ahead of time. However, when my wife took her to the first lesson, he had her do pencil drawing. She and my wife kept thinking that he would get to watercolor but he did not. When we talked with him about this, he simply said that he deals with a lot of students and he did not recollect that watercolor was what we had asked for. No apology. Instead, he said we should have told him what we wanted at the beginning of the lesson, not the end. That may be true, but does that change the fact that he we didnt get what we paid for at all?He then defended what he did with her, saying she needed to learn what she likes as an artist, and that was his goal. We told him we hired him to teach her watercolor technique and then he told us to come by and get a refund check for the remaining lessons. Very surprised at this, we agreed, and he said, That would make me very happy. That would make my day. Really?We had not been rude to him. We were polite in discussing the matter. Yet, when I went in to pick up the check, the way he treated me made things worse.He may be a very competent teacher but we did not have a positive experience.

David Myers is an amazing art coach at all stages of development. He has greatly helped me improve my art and has given me clarity where I was foggy. I didnt even realize how much potential I had until I worked with him. One of the many things I appreciate about Mr. Myers is how he is able to help budding artists discover their real, buried passion and purpose, turning so so artists into captivating artists. I have a new direction and excitement for creating art thanks to Davids direction. I highly recommend that you visit David Myers and discover for yourself how he can help you become the artist of your dreams.

David Myers Art Studio & Gallery in Uptown Westerville is the place to go. We have bought several prints from there and have also had several pictures framed. His art work is outstanding and he does a great job with the custom framing. Great attention to detail. He is also very active in the community, giving private and group art lessons to people of all ages and providing art therapy to local seniors and others with special needs. Not to mention that David himself is super nice and very personable!
