Its in a quite neighbourhood. There is a small parking lot. Street parking isnt an option because you need a permit. A lot of the same people come by whenever I stop buy. They are friendly. It isnt that and it doesnt have two separate lots for smaller dogs. There is a lot of shade and a cute water fountain area. It also has a bathroom right next to it. Id recommend this place.
I was there the other day, for the first time in years.Loved it.Question: which one of the Painted Ladies did the Tanners on Full House live in? And why was their proximity to Alamo Square not referenced in the show?
When planning your trip to the Golden Gate Park, spare at least half of your day to take in the aromas and sights of the various floras in the 1.58 square miles of land. The park is very kid- and dog-friendly, so encourage the whole family to come out and enjoy the wonderful San Francisco weather. Bring your camera, water bottles, and athletic shoes because the Golden Gate Park is a beautiful place that you will spend hours and hours at in complete fascination and relaxation.
Good dog park which is in the quiet and nice neighbourhood. The dog owners are generally nice and friendly, only some are not very nice and give you the feeling like ‘LEAVE ME ALONE’, but I know not everyone is in the good mood or has the good energy to come here for their dogs. Anyway, it’s a mixed dog park, that means there are some big or even huge dogs available sometimes. Depending on my dog is a puppy and still small, we choose to leave if there are some big dogs. Dogs here are very playful which is good. Also the wood chalk would make them very dirty after playing. So if you mind giving your dogs the bath, here is not a good choice.
It is a good park, however, it has a bark surface and my tiny dog wasnt a fan. However, it was clean and worth a visit if you live local.
Hart moved into the house in 1919 at a time when some of the most important names in show business were acquiring expensive properties as part of the first onslaught of Hollywood’s wealth. He lived there until 1927 when work was completed on the Newhall ranch 40 miles north of Los Angeles.
Im bummed that the dog park is currently closed, but I love spending some time outside with my dogs in the grass surrounding the off-leash area. Everything looks very well cared for and the benches throughout the park are a great touch!
Very nice and clean. The upkeep is top notch and the size is perfect for good runs.
Thankful that this dog park exists where there aren’t many others, but it can be a bit dirty as it seems some folks that frequent it aren’t as respectful or mindful to pick up after their pets. But it is a ‘community’ park in a way - I’d see the same humans and dogs and they were lovely humans to watch dogs playing with.
Everyone had control of their dogs, peaceful
One large play area (no division for small dogs). Parking aint great but dog owners here are awesome. Very friendly neighborhood vibe :)
What a beautiful place, Im from the UK myself and wish we had places like this back home. Walked past while looking around, and had to stay a while to watch the Dogs play. The people were super friendly and were happy to let me and my friends stand and talk and pet the dogs. Each and everyone of them said nothing but good things about this park and I would have loved to bring my dog from back home.
Should have more trees and bigger area. Or grass would be nice as well. The one in the valley is the best my dog loves it so hudge to run around. Cramped space here.
William S Hart Dog Park is beautiful! Great sunset views and nice park to walk in.
I really don’t like the ground cover at this park. the woodchips are a mess and get stuck in my dogs paws. I wish it were turf or even just dirt. But it’s a nice park with ample shade and well socialized dogs
Great location, although Its very dusty
Came today since West Hollywood Park is closed for a couple weeks... we will not be returning. Its essentially a medium-sized dirt pit with some wood chips. I spent more time cleaning wood pieces from my puppys paws than we spent at the park. Which was not long because we got bored. I didnt even feel comfortable throwing a ball for my pup because I didnt want him any more covered in mud than he was. And we came on a dry, rain-free (for several days in a row) day.
The mulch surface is a bit odd and makes scooping poop challenging. Also, I cant believe Im reviewing a dog park...
I really want to like this place because Im so close to it, but its dangerous. My dogs cycle through a few different dog parks each week and this is the only one my dogs keep getting attacked at. I think dog walkers bring dogs here and dont understand their temperament because its so close to a lot of dog owners apartments. The place itself is extremely dirty. The only time Ill come back is when there are one or two other dogs there. Just avoid this place all together if you can.
I prefer this park because of the fact that its in the shade and hidden off the busy streets.
This is my happy place, I can see a lot of dog owners with their dogs!
I used to think this place was great because its not dirt and dust. Its wood chips. Plus benches and shade and a fountain. But its not separated by dog size, its just one big open area. And there are lots of people who come with aggressive big dogs and and dont watch them and let them run around outside of the fenced-in park area. Not cool.
For the most part this is a good place to bring your dog. There have been some skirmishes lately among the dogs and I would say that its as a result of dog walkers coming in with three or four dogs and not paying attention to them. My dog had been attacked twice by s very aggressive out bull. I dont believe that dog will be coming back. I told the dog walker that has that dog I would call the police if I saw the dog again. The people that come to that Park are mostly really good owners and get pick up after their dogs and they are careful to not get into aggressive situations. I like the park. I go there just about every day and if we can keep the very few aggressive dogs out its a perfect place
Cute little dog park. All of the people who go here regularly are so friendly. Great mix of dogs here big and small. The park is a little small but definitely worth a visit!
This is one of the two properties actor William as heart donated the other is in Santa Clarita
Love this place, well I should say my dog loves this place. People are nice. Always dogs to play with.
Love it. Clean. Beautiful, Peace and quiet
Fairly good place. Usually well kept. Other owners are good at controlling their dogs. Basically no big groups of dog walker dogs.
BE CAREFUL if you dare to bring your dog here. This place is packed and big dogs and small are kept together. There is some lady who has two rescue dogs - look like a lab and a pit bull- and brings she her dogs to the park and lets them off the leashes. Her dog tried to attack mine out of no where . If I didnt lift my fog in the air I do not know what would have happened. I was holding him in the air and her dog was jumpin up and snapping. Scared the heck out of me. The others there just watched. She refused to give her and her dogs info. Other dog parks have safe rules to protect dogs and make the dog parks nice. The set up here is just bad. There were creepy people lurking just outside the fence too.
Met some great dog owners.
Love to take my Oldy to the park. My Oldy I a full size schnauzer. He loves to be around other dogs. Hes super friendly and enjoys this park a lot. This park is clean and safe. Recommended.
Nice space. But needs more maintenance, it was so muddy.
Nice local dog park. Friendly owners. 90% are attentive and responsible.
My dog and I live in West Hollywood area. I have a 1.5 year old male black tri-color australian shepherd. He seems to enjoy this small, wood-chip style dog park. His white coat will get very dirty especially when the wood-chips are damp. The park is designed for all dogs, small, medium, large and giants. So, if you plan on checking this place out, just know that your pooch will be mingling with everyone present in the park. High traffic time such as 4pm-5pm, can get a bit crowded, so plan accordingly.
My dog was happy, plenty of water for dogs.
Its a open space for your dog to play. What else do you need?
My local park. Small but convenient.
What a great place for the dogs, and their owners!
Great Meet...!!!
Pretty decent dog park.
Good experience for dogs and companion. Plenty of shade and breezes.

William Shart Park
A small, mulched park where to unleash your dog in the midst of West Hollywood. My dog wasnt sure what to think.
My dog loved it.
