AMAZING VIEW! Our ocean front room was absolutely beautiful - we loved waking up to an ocean view and the outdoor balcony off our room was even more perfect. Our room was extremely clean and the complimentary coffee was a nice touch in the morning. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were just what we needed to relax after a long drive. Lafayette Oceanfront Resort has been the go-to place for our family to relax and enjoy the ocean for over two decades now... from the large indoor pool, to the spacious hot tub complete with its own waterfall, to falling asleep listening to the waves crash against the sea wall oh, you will not find a better experience in Wells, Maine !!If you want old school with a touch of modern amenities this is the place to be.

Ive stayed here many times. Only in winter where I get an ocean view room. Very clean, comfortable rooms. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I recommend Lafayette for all seasons.

This was a wedding gift to us and we used it for our Anniversary . Our room had a fireplace, massage chair, a huge flatscreen mounted tv and overlooked Wells Beach with a shared patio. We also had a nice card and heavy terry cloth robes waiting for us. A nice touch. We enjoyed getting to know our neighbors and sleeping with a window open listening to the ocean.

Clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Our room was on the first floor and just went down a few stairs to get onto the beach. Staff is very nice and extremely helpful.

The room was great. Loved hearing and smelling the ocean and view from the balcony was awesome. Loved having access to beach right out the entrance definitely will be recommending to friends and family

My wife and I have been staying at Lafayettes for quite a few years. We have enjoyed the efficiency rooms in the annex building. Unfortunately on our latest trip we discovered that the nice little window facing the ocean was boarded up making the room very dark and dingy. Had we been informed about this we definitely would have chosen to spend our $400.00, for two nights, on a much brighter room. We don,t recommend that you book either 9B or 10B unless you like sitting in the dark. Jack and Martha.

We stayed in the Oxcart part of the hotel and it was pretty run down, not what I expected for the price we paid. Pool area is nice.

I have gone here numerous times throughout my life. The staff is very friendly and the ocean view balcony has a great view. They have done quite a few updates over the years. The bathrooms are very nice, but the rooms themselves and some hallways are slightly stuck in the past. The rooms we have had have always had a small refrigerator and microwave. You are within a short drive to grocery stores and restaurants, but not many options in short walking distance. The parking area is very tight. Overall, we love this place and definitely plan to go back.

My wife and I spent a couple of nights here and had a very positive experience. The folks at the front desk were friendly and the check in and check out process was painless. The view from the hotel is beautiful and its situated nearby local attractions.

Nicest people in the front office. Beautiful beach. Ocean lulls you to sleep at night. Great room with all you need. Lots of fun things to do in the area. Simply the BEST.

We loved Lafayettes .Its been our vacation spot 6 times now and everytime it keeps getting better. the staff is very attentive and the rooms are impeccable which is important especial!y with the civic situation however our next door neighbors decided to have a family reunion the spilled over into our side when their people took it upon themselves to borrow our chairs that we werent using.. until the mother of the group put an end to that and was very apologetic and they offered up some birthday cake which we respectfully denied.

Love this ️ place. We go in late September/early October when things get a little quieter. Walk the long beach, visit shops, etc, eat good food, and seriously unwind. And yes, the rooms are comfortable and we always choose to be right on the edge of the high tide.

There’s about a dozen of us who stay yearly in January and are always so pleased with our stay! Any issues are always resolved immediately! It’s been in Forbe’s Cottage lately and we just love it!

Didnt stay. Too pricey.

We stayed here once before two years ago, and had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately our second time staying with them, we discovered adult bed bugs in our room on the second night and quickly ended our stay. I got three bites, two on my back and one on my leg. Upon further inspection, the edges of the beds were severely stained with excrement and remains from the pests. There was also a child’s jump-up and clothing tags hidden in the corner behind a chair, as if they hadn’t cleaned the rooms properly in some time. We had such a wonderful time two years ago, but it truly seems this resort is still living in the past and in desperate need of a remodel and a devoted staff that throughly inspects and cleans all rooms. We were refunded for our stay thankfully, but sadly we will not be returning.

Not fancy but KILLER OCEAN FRONT, I mean right up to your patio in building #7. Wifi, alarm clock w/charging stations, Keurig in room with Green Mountain regular and decaf. Microwave and large dorm fridge. Extra pillows and blankets, safe and plush robes. Friendly people and amazing restaurants surround the area not to mention shopping and the Marginal Way coastal walking path. Highly recommend

Really great staff very clean place.loved being able to hear the ocean :) thank you. The little shampoo and conditioner were so amazing. Except for the fact that I put lotion in my hair instead of conditioner but that was not there fault. I would recommend anyone to stay here for a nice room. Good rates and beautiful view .I have never stayed that close to the ocean for such a great price

My wife and I stayed at the Driftwinds Motel part. It was an older building and the hallways had a musty smell to them. Perhaps time to change out the carpets and a few renovations. We did however have one issue, but the management was very helpful and attentive.

This place is amazing. Right on the ocean. Waves crashing against the rocks below. The beautiful sound of the ocean all night to lull you to sleep. Heaven on earth!

Perfect location. Rooms were pretty dated but we spent very little time in them!

Recent stay, was very disappointed. Grilled in parking lot, told it was not allowed, but could not find where it stated that. That’s okay I understand liability. Then, our son who is an officer of the law ACCIDENTALLY spilled a partial beer off balcony. He received a nasty phone call stating if there was another complaint we would be asked to leave. We are quiet people, and we where spending a weekend to celebrate my Moms life. She was dying of cancer and had made these reservations in hopes that she could visit her favorite place one more time. Unfortunately she did not make it. The way in which these situations were confronted were very unprofessional, and quite rude. While we enjoyed the beach, next time we will find another place. Don’t know what Mom saw in your place, but we will make our own memories elsewhere as my siblings and I are attempting to make our visit a tradition. By the way you just lost the business of six booked hotel rooms...

Families been going here for 2 generations. My wife and I for over 20 years. Didnt get more than an hour of sleep. Party directly above our heads. Zero help from the main office. Now I see why they call that section the Road House. Never again.

Awesome staff was extremely nice and left us a personally written happy honeymoon card. The only room for improvement is the size of the room and they could use some updated renovations otherwise, AWESOME!

Magnificent. Acommodations are not fancy but clean and good but nowhere puts you right on the beach like Lafayette! At night ocean comes right up to hotel seawall and you can sit on your balcony or open deck and there is the ocean. Close to many attractions but right on Wells Beach.

We had a great time,Unfortunately o e of the season regularsMade it very uncomfotable for my mother in law as he was accusing her of smoking on the balcony,As she wasnt because we were following the rules as there is NO smoking......Aside from that,Wonderful time

Ive been going here for the better part of 40 years now. The original idiosyncratic charm remains, as do a small number of the employees. Now theyre part of a small chain.The pool is wonderful, as are the memories of playing in it with my now-grown daughters. Met a lot of good people in the hot tub. The rooms have been mostly remodeled; its nice, but the old paneling had a certain cachet.Understand that the ocean units (the ones North of the office) are right on the water in a way that is unique in my experience - the waves crash against the bulwark of the concrete porch. At high tide theres nothing but water in view, creating an eerie sense of solitude. They are (and have been for at least 40 years) open all year; indeed, Ive never been there in season.

Our room was located right on the ocean. A great place to be!

Weve stayed here before and had a 5/5 star stay. We recently stayed overnight in the original building and had a great time, the service was great, but the room wasnt as clean as it should have been as well as it being slightly outdated. Other than that the stay was good and we would go back (but stay in a different building).

Supremely comfortable, spectacular view. Its like you are on a stationary cruise ship at high tide! Well maintained and cozy. Not pretentious, just right.

I think the room was hot but I loved the rest of it other then not having enough shampoo and conditioner.

Ultra family-oriented place. Typically booked all summer, but sure you can find a vacancy. Older place, so there are some sacrafices, but worth it because of the proximity to the beach and fun family activities right nearby. If you have the money, you could show up at this hotel with nothing and furnish a week long vacation with all the necessities and more within less than one mile of the hotel. If this place can survive for one more generation, it will be a big money earner. Food places nearby, but easier to get to most by car than foot.

Rooms are very clean, and the staff is great!

Location is great. Love being right on the ocean. Have stayed there in the past and was very happy. This trip left me unhappy with the dustiness of the room. Looked like it hadnt been dusted since the summer season opened . I left a note for the maid to dust where the microwave was, but never done. Will have to think about another stay there.

Increased their prices a lot lately, convenient location, but it is kind of gross and run down

High prices for rooms depending on the time of year. They treat employees generally like family and want you to succeed. Not a ton of room for moving up as management is long-established, but both the rate of pay and the job locations make it even more worth it to work with them or visit.

Everyone here is terrific. We really liked the pool when it rained and the views of the beach and ocean are the best in Wells.

The oceanfront rooms have an incredible view and a small balcony. The tide can be 200 feet out or at your doorstep. We stayed here once before and the room was spotless. This visit were in the same room. Theres a big stain on the rug and the room is in need of a good dusting. Thats why I took off a star. Otherwise this a wonderful family style resort on a beautiful beach. The resort has a good sized indoor pool.

Comfortable place to stay right on the water.Indoor pool and sauna great for kids especially if the weather turns rainy. Within walking distance of a few restaurants and shops but the lure is definitely Wells Beach. Very busy during the summer.

I love this place. Great memories for years for my family have been made here. I hope it never changes. Except maybe for allowing dogs! :)

A great place for the family- the hotel staff is on duty 24/7. The parking for the hotel is reserved for the guests with lot attendants. Theres a snack shack near by, owned by the hotel as well, bugers, shakes, seafood snacks and ice cream.
