Thompson Park is amazing, and it offers so much. Amazing views, a zoo, golf, trails, swimming pool, splash pad, and a pretty decent playground. I love the atmosphere, especially on a warm day. It is always cooler at Thompson Park due to the plentiful trees. My only downer is the lack of trash cans. If enjoying lunch with your family at the park, remember a trash bag so you take your trash back home.

Thompson Park is an excellent place to visit and see nature at its best. The park is an excellent place for families. The park is spaced out enough that you can enjoy small get togethers without worrying about inter mixing with others and catching COVID 19.

Park zoo pool all in one place! We had an amazing TIME and was completely surprised by the beauty and view! Plus everyone we meant there was polite and caring! Its a place frozen in TIME! Love it!

I was here for the 4th of July concert and fireworks with family. The experience was excellent. We had perfect weather, the orchestra was very good, and the fireworks show was much better than expected.Ive also been to other parts of the park on other occasions, for walks, hikes, and play time with my nieces and nephews. Its absolutely beautiful and kept up really well. One of the best parks Ive visited!

Im ashamed to say this but I have been living here since 2005 and Friday last week was the first time I visited this place. Spectacular, breathtaking view!

Love this place. Great views and my kids love the splash pad and playground. The attractions are across the street from one another so you can bounce back and forth. Oh and theres a zoo and soon to be a municipal pool

Stopped over briefly to let the kids play in the splash-park, which is really pretty cool. Lots of kids, nice shade trees with benches and tables for the adults. One huge downside of the splash-park area is the port-a-john toilets. Nasty.The playground is large and safe, kids had a great time, benches and shade trees all round.The public toilets in the park are pretty awful, its a toss-up whether theyre worse than the toilets near the splash-park.Theres a water tower which my kids found fascinating, and nearby, across the road, theres a monument to the 10th Mountain at Fort Drum.Good for the kids, not much for the adults, but the park is well maintained and clean (apart from the toilets).

Great place to come fly a kite. Great views. Pool still appears to be under construction. A few beer cans along walking paths. Otherwise seemed very well maintained.

Sledding is ok not like it use to be when we were able to use the entire hill. Now its fenced off and short. Even though this is how it is now we still had a fun time sledding.

Great park designed by the son of a very famous architect. His fathers legacy shines through in this park.

Beautiful park situated right in the heart of the city. Playground for the kids, walking trails and beautiful outlooks of the city for the adults. Theres also a pool and splash pad so theres fun for the whole family!

Great place to watch fireworks! (That’s the only reason I’ve been here...this year and last year, too!). They treated for mosquitoes/bugs so that was welcome. Good planning for parking and had plenty of porta-potties for the crowd. Great music (bring earplugs if you are near a speaker!) Good times with the family here. Enter from Gotham street for best parking, and get there by 6pm.

Spacious, quiet, and many amenities. If you need a place for your kid, the park is amazing. Otherwise its quiet paths and scenic views. The zoo is always fun too.But, there are no garbage cans, which can get annoying.

Very beautiful park with amazing views. The mosquitoes were a little crazy so be sure to wear bugspray during the warmer months. Overall it was a great atmosphere and well definitely be going back.

Great playground for kids here. We stopped in on a long car ride and its a great place to get out and stretch your legs. There are tables for lunch right next to the playground. There is a lot more to see like a zoo, but sadly thats all we had time for.

Would go here to fly my drone when i was on active duty stationed at Fort Drum. The worst thing about this park are the seaguls. you cannot have food here because the seaguls will attack you and try to take your food. They swoop low you need a baseball bat to defend yourself. You think im playing go their with some hot cooked food and see for yourself. When the park gets crowded its difficult to navigate by vehicle. Im not a people person so i stay away from large crowds but hey you may be the opposite. its a good park to fly your drone though. its a higher elevation than the surrounding land so you should get good reception. people have dogs running around here so dont fly low a dog may destroy your thousand dollar drone.

Great park, zoo, splash pad, and picnic. However, I’ve never seen sure disgusting ports potties in my life. They look (and smell) like they haven’t been cleaned in weeks!

Great family park with a Zoo. Big enough to keep everyone busy enjoying just being together and outside but quaint enough to where its a relaxing time and not elbow to elbow or packed together either. Everyone has more than enough privacy. A+++

Always fun for the kids but it would be nice to have trash cans nearby so there isnt so much trash. As well the shavings are gross and we should put down a soft ground for the kiddos instead.

Its beautiful for any event or just to come up and play with the kids since its a new park you can see your kids better and feel safer with them at the park. Even if you just come up to do walking around the park a couple times its great!! The only thing I dont like is theres on 2 areas there with Pavilions which you need to reserve them for your event. Theres SO MUCH room and area to add a couple more so people can do parties up there instead of having a party and be all set up ready to go and then get rained out... Just an idea but I think adding a couple more would be beyond great

A beautiful, picturesque old park. Lots of beautiful stone walls and stone buildings with a view of the city to die for. A nice posturing for the kids and a small zoo with indigenous animals. A nice place to eat lunch and look out over the city of Watertown. Its also a terrific place to fly a kite, with a constant, steady wind on the hill.

Thompson park is a great place for the whole family to get away from the every day hustle and bustle for a while. The splash pad and the newly renovated play area is a must see. Would give a five star rating but my only issue was because it gets so busy theres never enough park benches to relaxe after chasing the kids for hours...lol. have fun with the whole family and enjoy the historic Thompson park.

A great place to spend time with family and friends. Sitting on the hill overlooking the city of Watertown, there’s a place for almost any kind of activity. The zoo is a good place for all, and the walking paths are extensive and well maintained.

Zoo is small. Very small. So small it should be free. I mean cape may zoo is 100 times bigger and actually has animals like alot of ani.als and its free. Maybe it was a bad time of year to go I sont know. The only thing there I enjoyed were the oters swimming. Oters are cool

We love taking the kids to this park. It is up on a hill and you can see Lake Ontario! The city looks stunning from up there as well. The zoo is right there. I have hopes the pool will be renovated eventually but other than that, this board is perfect for day trips or events!

Its got a great playground for the kids and just installed a water playground for them to use during the 2 weeks of summer Watertown gets. The zoo is great for being that small. If you want to push yourself running, the hill to the top will smoke you so running the 1.5mi up and back down is plenty of workout.
