Deanwood Recreation Center and Library is a large center right across the street from the Deanwood Metro Station. The building itself is closed due to the pandemic, but the playground outside is open certain hours. I took my toddler there and she loved it. Theres a big slide, swings and climbing stations that build confidence in children. Its gated and protected well.

Newer construction, nice gym and pool with a great water slide for bigger kids. The locker room was too cold but they may hav fixed this.

Social distancing was set perfectly. Markings on the ground outside and on the floor inside. I participated in the preliminary voting. Arrived at 10:41am and was out but 11am. Although I heard some horror stories about the wait, I was able to get in and out in a flash.

I was able to drop my ballot in the drop box with no problem!

I love this location, very clean, my.pnlynissue is that they need to update the google site and let the public know that the pool is closed. I was not happy when I came by and saw the pool water was taken out and online it says open.

One of DC best recreation center

The staff is always great! The gem on a Saturday at 10am is the Arcadia Farmers Market. I always get great produce, excellent customer service, and a culinary delight. Today I kiwanos... African horned cucumbers that I enjoyed so much when I reached home.

The staff is very professional. Programs are designed to meet your needs. I found the staff very attentive to the support of its participants.

The water was warm and the teacher is a very good water arobic teacher the ladies locker room need some work.

Great swim class for under 3 year olds. 12 classes for $30.

Its great. Ice cream trucks come by and sell everything from ice cream to candy and hot dogs and milkshakes. Theres a pool and basketball court, a football/soccer field, senior center and a library. I like it. I love it.

I am a DC resident and i am actually impressed.....now if I can find a free water aerobic class that will be great

I love this place! It provides me with many facilities for education, information and wellness. The staff members are wonderful. I always look forward to going here.

Very nice faculty with several options. Visited the library & senior room. Security personnel would be ambassadors if they were willing to move from theirs seats behind desks and stand to greet people. Im very excited to this rec.

Beyond happy with this recreation center. They have great couches and they make the kids fell like their hope. Me and my family enjoys come here for week day practices

I use the library here and enjoy the selection. I used to use the pool in the past but the water temperature was always too cold for water aerobics. This was not fun and I stopped attending class.

This place is awesome and clean for the most part and I went swimming and forgot my ID was in my pocket and it fell out in the pool or wherever I dont even really know but I called and I asked and they save my ID for me until I got there Im so grateful

Very nice recreational center. Quite beautiful even. But the people here are very ghetto. At least that was my experience when I went and that was just one time. So it may not be like that all the time. Although, I have no plans to ever return.

Decent fitness room with Cybex fitness machines (bikes, ellipticals and treadmills--2 of each), freeweights (dumbells but no barbells), and medicine balls. Very limited locker space tho, all in use, during middle of day.

Needs better staff, residents are rude & disrespectful better equipment tired of waiting to workout.

They have a pool library and basketball court. They also have a small gym that is horrible. Went there once put my keys in my book bag. My book bag was beside me. Someone stole my car keys. This neighborhood is bad. Don’t go here unless you want to get shot or robbed!!

Nice size weight room and weekend activities

The Rec Center serves as a learning center where Ward 7 residents can come to try something new; Arts & Crafts, Card Games, Line Dancing, and other hobbies. The center has a large meeting room, a swimming pool, a large gym, day care center, computer learning center, and audio studio, not to mention the residents have access to their local public library. The youth will enjoy playing outdoors sports, like football, on the regulation football field. During the cold months, indoor sports in the gym. I attend gardening course here, and enjoy this facility. It could not get closer to its metro, and feels approachable but safe. I appreciate the staff here, who seem to offer help or direction whenever I need it.

My experience at deanwood recreation has been rewarding. The service was incredible, fast and exciting. Yes I would return. Keep up the good work.

They recently expanded the weight room and added new equipment, and its quite nice. There is a pool and a library. Fairly new facility and the upkeep is quite well. Very fun here!

Recreation Center big they have stuff for elderly people they have things for the kids that have things for you know the adults like the workout swim this is a great Recreational Center

Indoor swimming pool all year round, Nice!!

My grandson played football here, aside from people smoking marijuana here its a great field for a football game.

I have used it several times and I always am able to use the work out facilities. The staff is great, but I do agree that the security is kind of a joke. I have only been asked once to show my my ID contrary to the 100% ID check sign at the front desk, and the kids kind of run amok in the evenings - but theyre teenagers and I think their main goal in life is to annoy adults.Other than that, it is a beautiful facility. I enjoy it and what they have available to the community. The support staff in general are all very nice and helpful. I will continue to take advantage of their programs and services as long as Im in the area.

Its Down The Street from My Daughter house, which I walk to it.

Its a lovely & clean facility. I dont like the two big fans in the pool area. It made the water colder & uncomfortable.

As far as the facilities go this place is a real beauty. From swimming in the pool to playing basketball in the gymnasium all facilities are well equipped for everything you need to enjoy yourself during your stay here. The only thing is that the location of the recreation center is in a bad neighborhood so you might come across disturbances while your there.

I left my keys in the gym there and they tossed them. I had my school picture ID on them and they didnt even bother to search for them I called same day and no one aswered and I went up early in the morning and still no one turned them in. Im not sure as to why someone would toss my keys. The woman at the desk told me that someone could have put them in the trash....but why?

Fantastic community recreation center with an integrated library and pool, renovated gym and tech lounge. Soon the daycare center will be activated.

A good place for fun. And they have marthas table there from time to time. They help to give food to people.

While here -- I observed an older male employee here (w/missing teeth, brown skin) who was extremely rude to the senior citizens there -- who were waiting to get their taxes done). Why does the D.C. Govt. have such an unprofessional employee representing them -- who does not know how to speak to people in a courtest manner?? He needlessly provoked several people (at this Rec Ctr.) & made people want to beat him up!!!!

I have been bringing my daughter to this facility,since it first open. We both love it, the water slide is fantastic. The library is awesome.

The grounds are really nice and they offer a nice pool to swim in, do laps in, and splash park area as well as football fields and playgrounds. Theres also a nice workout room, library, and rooms for meetings.

Outstanding rec center with swimming pool, attached public library, computer study room, several scheduled activity rooms, football field, but not a lot of parking space. However, neighborhood is not permit parking.
