Small, quaint venue for private parties or banquet. This particular visit was for a comedy show. Nov9th show starts at 830pm.
Loved the fellowship & dinner they had here. Met one of the Chef’s and the food was very good!!Definitely returning when I return for a visit to DC
Nice little neighborhood spot. Nice people.
Nice open space with hard wood floors and mini stage. Great for hosting a party or small presentation.
Went there for Mercy of Christs church service and wasnt disappointed! True Gospel from The Bible. So glad I went!
If only I had the option to leave this place no stars at all. I had contacted the river side center about two weeks before my event. They informed me they were available for the date and time I needed as well as all the information regarding costs. cool. About a week before my event I requested a tour and to begin the paper work process. The woman I was corresponding with told me she would be there from 10-2 and would print me out a contract during my tour. I arrive on the date of my tour and shes not there, she gave instructions to the group leader that was occupying the space to print me a contract. Another women who did not work for the center was kind enough to give me the tour. The woman who handed me the contract told me she told me to give you this and to drop it off next week. So now its the week of my event, I emailed them regarding some questions i had about seating, left them my number. No response. I call the center, leave a message, no response. Im thinking theyre more lax when it comes to responding but still im thinking everything is okay. The day before my event was to take place one of my event organizers goes to asks the questions we had and to put down a down payment. The woman in charge refused to shake her hand at first and was refusing to make eye contact (cause she knew she was guilty and wrong). Then explains she GAVE AWAY our reservation to her partner because they have dibs. My organizer is shocked and confused because again this is the DAY before our event and they had been completely unresponsive to texts, phone calls/messages, and emails. The event organizer asks her why didnt she inform us and she responds with well I didnt respond to her emails. She gave my friend eye rolls and attitude and was totally unapologetic about the situation. I dont know how this persons personal communication skills must look if this is how they handle professional matters. You dont ghost on potential clients. You do the grown, adult thing of responding to their emails explaining their reservation was cancelled so they can look for another venue in appropriate time. And even if that doesnt happen you at least are apologetic and treat the person with respect and dignity. I dont know if its because were muslim, but i wouldnt be surprised. Still upset about this, take your money somewhere else more professional.
