An excellent place to learn about the history of DC Firefighters! The tour guide knew what he was talking about, and was even employed as a DC firefighter before he retired. The museum is at the 3rd floor of a working fire station, so it was neat to see the firetruck and ambulance coming and going as I went through the museum. 5/5 stars!FYI, their phones are currently down so I was not able to get ahold of them... But it may work to call the fire station to acquire the hours.

The Museum is an excellent place to visit full of amazing history. The volunteers working here know so much history behind all the equipment. Only wish they could have more regular hours. Perhaps the firefighters working in the same building could help out.

I went to visit during the stated times but they were not open. The firefighters downstairs in the house informed us that the museum is volunteer run. I tried calling ahead and left a voicemail but no luck apparently. I have heard good things from people who have gotten in so I’m just taking off one star because of the lack of a tour guide despite the designated times.

Be sure to call ahead to arrange a time to visit this all volunteer museum. Our tour guide was a retired DC firefighter who brought the history to life. This museum was the highlight of our last trip to DC!

There was an intercom for the museum on the side of the building, which was kind of sketchy, and despite trying to visit using it to visit the museum there was no answer.
