Beautiful ornate library with a vast collection of Browning research and material. Check out the ceiling that has been compared to the one in Disneys Beauty and the Beast. Free to visit and to admire near Baylors campus. Quiet! Also, nice outside wooden furniture to relax and study.

This library is more like a museum. Absolutely gorgeous stained glass windows, architecture, wood floors, paintings, sculptures, etc. You realize it is still a library when you come upon the students studying in this beautiful place. Spectacular restrooms.

I have a bit more appreciation and interest in history and literature than my husband, so this place was quite boring for him. However, I enjoyed it, and loved the architecture and small details! It was a bit awkward when walking in areas where students were studying, but Im sure they are used to it.

Philanthropist Dr. A.J. Armstrong wanted to create the “most beautiful building in Texas,” and the end result was this 3-story, Italian Renaissance-styled masterpiece adorned with 62 stained glass windows, massive marble columns and intricate ceiling designs. Armstrong justified the expense by pointing out that the “compelling beauty” of the building might be able to inspire someone enough that if we by that means give the world another Dante, another Shakespeare, another Browning, we shall count the cost a bargain.
