Excellent place. Mix of historic value and outdoors activities. The next time someone complains that it isnt up to par, tell them to vote, and volunteer, to make a difference. Its a fantastic place to play disc golf, BBQ, peddleboat, learn about local history, see a car show, etc.

Such a beautiful park! Picnic spaces, event spaces, playground, museum! Geese and chickens! this place has so much shade, beautiful trees. Attended a brew fest there a few Saturdays ago and it was the first time visiting this park. There is also a trolley that picks up people in downtown Visalia and drops you at the park. Great park!

I have a lot of thoughts about this park.First, if you knew what this park was like many many years ago then you will feel a bit disappointed. They used to have Paddleboats you could rent and ride around the lake. There was a concession area for treats and at one time they even had a little rides. It wasn’t just a park where you could enjoy nature, but it almost felt a little fair like. There is a museum you can walk through that has a history of the Indians from this area as well as the first school house. You can tour Through the museum and there is a fenced in area with old buildings you can look through. Old houses and a school house and even a train car. If you go further down into the park there is another museum that is newer and teachers about the immigration from different areas and what they contributed to our agriculture. I Enjoyed the information on the walls of this museum but there wasn’t much hands-on so my kids didn’t like it.The park itself is pretty big and usually you have to pay per car to get in. There are geese everywhere which are cool from far away but they will attack at any time. There is bird poop pretty much everywhere and there are a lot of holes in the grass. It is nature after all, And I think it’s still a fun place to have a picnic and play. There are a few play structures in the park but during the summer they are too hot to play on.While I would like to see some of the old attractions brought back and maybe a little more focus on keeping the park better groomed, I Still think it’s a great place to walk around and enjoying nature. But for real those geese are A holes so watch out.

I love this park! $6 entrance and its cleane every time I go. The pond has actually got better through the years. Great for parties or just sight seeing. Museum is free, but I wished there was more stuff to see in there. Also if the boats would come back it would be amazing.

Beautiful park! It has lots of BBQ grills and bench table seatings. Great spots to pick out, for you to BBQ with family, friends; for large groups settings and business companies. The museum is still in good shape, and its open to the public. Lots of people enjoying feeding the ducks and geese by the pond. Missed the boat rides they had before.

It is a beautiful place. They have cleaned it up big time.I did not get to go in the museum, last tour is at 345pm but the park has ducks, geese, and peacocks that are fun to feed and watch. Lots of space to have any type of gathering. Only downside is the parking. You can either park on the outskirts of Park which requires you to walk a distance or you can park in side of Mooney Grove if a space is available.

Tht hearN is is a nice break on a long drive to stop, stretch your legs and use the restroom or picnic on your way through....if you are into fishing, the artificial lakes are stocked with wide mouth bass and the disk golfing is excellent! It features two 18 hole disc golf courses and the back 18 will demand stamina and long distance throws.... a road runner couldnt hurt ... bring a fish scooping net in case you wind up in the waterway

Bird poop, you read it before. Being able to fish sets this place apart. Unless you come when they plant, you may not catch anything. My kid fell in the water, Im sure that happens often so bring extra clothes. Lots of room, great for kids to ride scooters, bikes and the likes. Only been once, well have to see whats its like in warmer weather.

Fishing was great. But be aware the park closes at 5pm during the week. The park curator or whoever comes to close the gate will rudely let you know. He even drives his car through the grass around the park edge. Heard him yell and threatened park goers! Totally unacceptable and unnecessary.

Ducks, Geese, Peacocks, and Lawns are beautiful. Plenty of picnic areas. Bird poo everywhere. Swings all broken. Some nice playground equipment, but too hot to use on a sunny day. Disc golf course weaves through picnic and play areas, great fun during off hours and hazardous the rest of the time. Huge staff. Randomly costs money to park car during summers. Randomly closed.

A beautiful, well maintained park with an abundance of wildlife, including an entertaining family of squirrels. To see all the squirrels heads peeking out of their underground homes, looking over at you, wondering what type of creature you are, is so mesmerizing, you dont want to look away. The ducks and geese have such fascinating characters, you will find yourself laughing at their adorable, sassy swag. There are different species of birds and the park is alive with their song. The grass is well-manicured and picnic areas are clean. Its soothing to lie under the trees and relax with Mother Nature. The museum is interesting and an enjoyable walk through. There are plenty of restrooms scattered throughout the park. There are childrens play areas and a pond I saw a father and son fishing at. This park is a great place for all ages, parties, picnics or just meditation.

Worst maintained park of all of Visalia. Between the holes and the bird poop and ants, you cant even walk around without almost breaking an ankle, shoes being covered in bird poop or getting eaten by ants.
