I wish we couldve stayed longer, taken our time with seeing everything, but it was just so hot. Even in the shade. Our energy depleted fast. Luckily the water features in the kids area were nice and cold.Little splash pad is a great size.Beautiful artwork and the tropical plants whisk you away to your own mental resort. Not crowded at all.
Another Florida gem explored, there wasn’t too many people out so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Can’t wait to go back when it’s a little cooler outside.- attendants were wearing masks and very friendly- hand sanitizer and bug lotion at entrance- the whole place is very well maintained- cafe was closed at time of visit- lots of orchids on trees- Lilly pods were beautiful- the stick works installation is even better in person- gift shop items were very affordable and not overpriced as one would expect
Very pretty gardens with some interesting kid areas. My family had a nice break from the pandemic by walking through these gardens and getting some fresh air (through a mask of course).
What a great place, very peaceful and beautiful. The new kids area is amazing and interactive. Really enjoyed the flip flop art.
Always a great time, we got to see Santa and everything is beautifully decorated. The Lego exhibit is amazing!
Great outdoors activity. Lovely gardens. The Lego sculptures were impressive, as was the Stickwork Sculpture.
Beautiful Botanical Garden in Vero Beach with a diverse and xtraordinary botanical collection . A unique 18-acre lush jungle landscape supports one of Floridas most extraordinary botanical . I like so much the Grand Central Stickwork Sculpture
Beautiful place especially this time of year! Love the Legos exhibition!
A fun interesting 2 hours. Love the history. Royal palms. And Legos
What an amazing job they did with the Childrens Garden. My boys had so much fun running through the pirate ship and the fountains.
The Gardens are lovely, with an amazing variety of plants. We spent 3 hours wandering through and enjoyed it enough to invest in a membership.
Awesome gardens and exhibits. Amazing variety of orchids and native plants as well as a huge mushroom and bamboo forest. Be prepared to see butterflies and dragonflies galore and there is an aviary as well as a childrens park. This took about 2-3 hours to tour the whole place with taking pictures.
Very pretty. Quite. It was really nice to visit. Area for the kiddos to play in water also.
Beautiful gardens. You dont need a lot of time to see everything: just about 2 hours. More if youre visiting with kids and they want to hangout at a very cool playground.
This huge garden provides a view of variety of plants and scenic beauty. The place is built beautifully which includes the bridges, sculptures, and tree house. There were many birds and fishes too. They also hold events in this place on occasions which adds to the fun. There was a car show when i visited here on a weekend and it was such an amazing experience.
Wonderful place to go and enjoy nature, but its the worse time to go due to the heat and mosquitoes.
What a beautiful place to visit for an afternoon. I loves places like this. With all the commercialized profit driven businesses out there today, it’s scenic places like McKee that bring it all into perspective. In the whole county I would rank this easily as a top ten to visit. Very nice botanical garden.
Exquisite gardens and historic structures. They maintain the grounds beautifully and with natural flair. The kids area is great for all ages. Lily ponds are exceptionally colorful. Enjoyed our visit. If I lived here I would be a member and come often because it is so relaxing.
Has lot of shade, maybe they should sell bamboo in the pot and should has more information of the plants.
We met some out of town family members here and Im so glad we did! What a beautiful place, full of high vibes, and nature! We attended during the Seward Johnson exhibit, which was really cool. We finished up our day with a quick bite to eat and were pleased to see they had Vegan options, salads, and even some stuff for the kids. Thumbs way up! We will definitely make the 75-minute drive back here from our place once the Childrens Garden opens.
A treasure in Vero Beach. A surprise around every corner. So serene and exciting at the same time. A JOY
Beautiful place to visit. Worth the drive.
Beautiful well kept botanical garden. Must see the childrens garden. Staff is friendly and have substantial knowledge of the gardens. I loved all the lily ponds, the lilies were in full bloom. Well worth the visit.
Beautiful place, you could get lost just admiring the flora and fauna. Glad I went!
Its so beautiful here, and gets better every year. Also the Childrens Garden is so much fun, even for Grown up kids. I always have an awesome time here with my Granddaughter!
Very nice gardens. They are not big but well laid out. They have nice trails and easily walkable. They have a very nice cafe with a good selection of vegan options. Very well priced too. The location is a bit out of the way of everything, but if you bundle it with the Vero Beach Outlets, its a good day trip.
Childrens area was phenomenal and my children keep asking to go back!
Beautiful garden, took about 2hrs to do a run through. Skipped the childrens section.
Excelente lugar.Wonderfull place to visit before the beach.
Most beautiful place Ive been ️
Bliss all year round. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.
It is a beautiful place, tranquility. So sad about the history, used to be 80 acres with animals and a huge banquet hall,a table that can fit 100 people.. sad that the gardens could not hold its past.️️️ But at least there is 18 acres...
Very nice gardens and just the right distance for trails. You can still enjoy these gardens, even on a hot day! Lots of cool resting spots, even a play area for the little ones!
Beautiful! Lots of beautiful plant life and paths. Makes a great location for photography.
Amazing place,,its huge and theres place for kids to play,,truly really beautiful garden,,deffintly worth the visit.
One of the best small Botanical Gardens I’ve seened in Florida. It’s located in Vero Beach, Florida.Just follow the walking paths and enjoy a slow walk. We attended the annual $1.00 entrance fee per person event. While we were there we bought an annual pass that’s good for located all over the country.Bathrooms, food and a really nice gift shop to buy a Christmas ornament or a book.If local don’t forget you can sign up to volunteer. Please ask questions from the staff.#TimSamsTravelUSALive Life Today, Travel USA!!!
This place is so much fun for me because I love learning the names of plants. Seeing this many varieties in this dense landscape was just so much info to process. Some areas were just breathtakingly beautiful. A must for any plant lover.
This place was gorgeous. Fair entrance price and many things to see. Lots of things to photograph and plenty of places to snap some family photos. Gift shop has much to offer and there is also a cafe that offers a nice selection. Highly recommended.
Love the gardens wished the virus was over so we could have tried the cafe
Beautiful botanical garden. It was a great way to spend the day. There are so many beautiful plants and flowers. The trails are nice and shady.
I love the new bronze statues and the garden but what happened to the video Going places, it still plays in the Giant house? I was told it is on the website but I cannot find it. Please keep it and on the website and in the giant house and tell me how to find it. The old history is very important too.
Beautifully planted and well worth the visit. I got an annual pass.
A wonderful place where the whole family can enjoy a beautiful and relaxing day surrounded by nature.
Amazing park, we were going back from south Florida, and found it on the map. It was really worth the visit, I would go back during the winter to enjoy the scenery in a cooler weather. The garden is well taken care of, bathrooms are clean, nice gift shop, I highly recommend this place. If you’re driving back from South Florida up north, you may wanna stop by and get a doze of nature.
Great place to check out!
Its been over 5 years since we have been. Love the new things ( kids zone & sculptures)
It was nice i like the new kids area I would go back
Very beautiful sculptured and landscaped gardens with moving stream, bridges and graveled walkways covers almost 20 acres. This garden is good for a leisurely 1.5 hr stroll. Mostly local fauna and some exotic flowers in a naturally landscaped display. There is a new childrens exhibit in the northeast corner. Koi pond out front but no other wildlife. Lots of monthly events. Gift shop, cafe and library. They currently have an amazing vine sculpture exhibit that is perfect for fun pictures. This nonprofit charges $15 for anyone 18 and over. I would lile to see students receive some discount with ID. Otherwise its fairly steep with little to see for $15. Unless a new exciting exhibit opens Im good with one trip.
I came here in February and the subtropical botanical foliage was beautiful and green and but did not have much other color other than a plethora of green shades.Besides the remarkable garden, the history of how it came to be and how it has evolved through the years was fascinating. Originally 80 acres to be raised and used for citrus orchards, the Florida hammock is only 18 acres now.Special exhibits are frequent occurrences at McKees. Until April 28, 2019, a delightful exhibit created by Stuart Anderson will be on display.. As a delightful edition to enjoying the garden, discovering throughout McKees, Stewards sculptured life-like, contemporary situations, complete with clever titles at the base of each vingette.Probably the most recognizable and astounding piece is a 25-ft tall, bronze-casted sculpture of the famous spontaneous sailor/nurse kiss in Times Square at the end of WWIi. It is the original casting and has been all around the world for display. There are three more copies an existence, but this is the original.
One of the prettiest gardens Ive been too. Pretty big place to be hidden in Vero. Really nice varied exhibits throughout the year. Worth membership. Decent little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating.
Very beautiful, but if you go during a time when the flowers and plants are in bloom. It was fun just walking around, relaxing, and taking cute pictures.
Beautiful maybe not worth the entrance fee though.
It was awesome, well worth the money.
I loved exploring this place. So many plants and all nicely named with details of where they came from. Nice little restaurant and waterfalls. I cant wait till September when they open the childrens garden!
Beautiful Garden! Well maintained even during the covic19 Fiasco. Mosquito repellent is a must!
This place is awesome! Kids are is unbelievable
Was drug here with my wife and mother in law and I loved it. A nice walk through a beautiful jungle.
Great place for family pics on a nice sunny day.
Beautiful, relaxing, educational and did I say BEAUTIFUL! So many amazing trees and plants.
Loved it! Beautiful Place with nice walkways and beautiful gardens! Much enjoyed it! They are are also expanding with a kids area later this year!
McKees is a hidden gem. I cant wait to go back. They are adding a childrens section scheduled to open in 2018. This place has several waterfalls, ponds with water lilies, bridges to cross, benches to sit, a pagoda, beautifully sculptured animals, and live bamboo that sounds like chimes when the wind blows, numerous flowers and unusual plants. There is a free parking lot, gift store and cafe on the grounds.
The gardens are your standard botanical gardens. Theres nothing that sets them apart from any other ones. My favorite part was the house that showed the history of the park. While we were there, they had a traveling sculpture show which was neat. The kids zone, under construction at the time of our visit, should be a nice option once it opens. The cafe was very disappointing. For below average food, it was pricey. Also, despite being the first ones in there, they managed to leave two things (mayo and lettuce) off my sandwich and give me the wrong side (chips instead of pasta salad). I would hate to see how they are when its busy! It was well shaded, and affordable, so I still enjoyed checking it out, Im just not sure Ill be back anytime soon.
This place is spectacular. This was my second visit and I think I will become a member the experience was different than the first which I didnt expect. New art installations and improvements abound. New childrens garden construction nearing completion.
Nice and relaxing spot! It seems that you traveled to a tropical jungle without leaving Vero Beach. You can enjoy a fantastic walk while you get to know different types of plants. It is a perfect place to take tons of pictures. I wish they close later, at least in summer, so you can enjoy your visit even in week days! Unfortunately it started raining while we were there and we ended up watching everything in a rush but because of that they gave us a rain check to come back for free and visit the garden with more calm.
Such a beautiful botanical garden. I stayed for hours taking pictures. I loved the statue of the sailor that they had when I was there. I will definitely be returning!
What a beautiful place to visit. There is so much to see and enjoy. And their special events are a lot of fun.
First time visiting and I didnt realize you had to pay to see the garden. When I approached the counter to see if I did indeed need to pay just to enter the garden. The lady there was just absolutely horrendous. The way she spoke to me was completely unprofessional. After the rude comment she made i walked away
Beautiful garden trails with lots of gorgeous and amazing smelling flowers. Beautiful Christmas activities and cool special events. A great Vero Beach treasure!
I had a lovely afternoon walk here. The entrance fee was $10. I went on a Tuesday. Pretty much had the place to myself. I only saw 3 other couples while I was there. The grounds are well kept. They had an exhibit from an artist that made animal sculptures from trash from Africa. Also, this place is home to the longest single slab table in the world. There is also a small library, a café and a gift shop on site.
Excellent childrens garden! Our 1.5 year old loved it. And the gardens are absolutely beautiful. Second time here and I loved it even more than the first time. Keeps getting better!
Definitely worth the drive from Palm Beach Gardens. My sister was here visiting from Pennsylvania and this was a beautiful way to spend 2 hours leisurely walking and reading all the informational signs along the way. Magnificent beauty and the weather was perfect. We arrived just as it opened so we pretty much had the place all to ourselves the entire time. Its beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Dont miss out, make time for a visit...
It is a beautiful and wonderful place to visit and enjoy your day.
Great little garden spot, nice walking trails, spots to enjoy nature and to take pictures.
My family and I love coming here! The garden is the perfect size to stroll through without little legs getting tired. Its truly a great place for all ages. The gardens are very well kept with lots of variety. The staff is friendly and there is lots of shade. Its definitely worth the trip.
Wonderful way to spend the day whether alone or with company
It was a great calming place to visit
Cute, small, very little flowers, trees you can see anywhere
Beautiful garden spaces and enchanted pathways to explore. I always come away with inspirational ideas for my own gardens.
Beautiful gardens. Great place to take the family. Price is a little high for a family, consider getting the annual pass for you best value. New kids area is our next stop!
Beautiful place to spend a few hours! Admission price isn’t bad either. $15 for an adult. Cafe, shop and clean restrooms! The atmosphere is amazing. They do a great job at keeping the Gardens clean! Very friendly staff too!
The gardens were beautiful and very well maintained.
Very beautiful layout. Has a jungle feeling. Thought there would be more birds and flowers but may be the time of year..
Always a great place to visit. Annaul car show is very well done! Different flowers in bloom throughout the year.
The new childrens garden is amazing! It couldnt be any better! The gardens overall are absolutely beautiful. The admission price is very resonable. Customer service was great as well!We went during a special event so the parking situation was a little crazy, and the lines to the restrooms and for food were long at times. The quality of food at the cafe could be better, but again, for what was offered, it was just fine.Regardless, we will be back!
Wow a new found hidden gem. Lots of old Fl history and the gardens are awesome. A current exhibit showing artistic use of recycled flip flops in animal shapes. Cool kids areas.
Very beautiful, nature is my passion
Beautiful! Nice groomed trails. Can rent wheelchairs for elderly or people in need of. Great staff to help, if needed.
Great place for good family fun. Definitely my favorite place to visit in Vero!
Lovely place for a stroll among beautiful local flora. Cant wait for the expansion of the new childrens area. Quite a few ponds with many varieties of lotus flowers and lily pads. Plenty of orchids as well. The pergola entrance transforms you into the gardens and you hardly hear any of the outside traffic of the area.
Nice place to take the family while on vacation. Wish I could of seen it in its heyday
We LOVED this place! They had a great assortment of plants, sculptures, and architecture. Unfortunately we missed out on the cafe because it was closed by the time we were done but all in all, we would definitely return.
Well kept. 18 acres. Friendly staff.
It is a nice place to go burn an hour or so walking around especially with most places still closed currently due to covid. But admission is the same price and half the park is closed down including the kids area and designated walkways have been put in place. If the whole place would have been open it would def be worth the money. My daughter was bummed out bc the kids area looked really fun, and it easily could have added another hour or so to the outing but unfortunately due to the circumstances they are obviously limited to what they can do.
The holiday display was delightful and it was a nice evening to sit at the Cafe and have wine and a chilli cheese dog. Nice evening out and some lovely items in tbe gift shop for that holiday
I love the diversity of the plants and how everything is arranged. The paths are well laid out and not so long that you get tired before you are done. I love the colors of the plants they have.
