Just got back from our camping trip. We made a reservation for the group camping area. There’s a decently sized body of water to the left that is excellent for fishing. We walked the trail to the boardwalk, after the boardwalk, we were trying to loop back but it was heavily flooded, so we had to trace our steps back the way we originally came. But we made it through even my 5 year old had an adventure. Looking forward to coming back. Remember you need a gate code to get in to the pavilion and camping area.

Cool place to go for a short backpacking overnight stay. The natural beauty of FL really shines in this place. Nice that the reservation is free. Doesnt seem that there are many people camping out there so youre sure to have peace and quiet.

Best camping around !! The hog island camp site is so private and secluded under an amazing tree canopy. This is a true tent campsite, there are no amenities aside from a bench and a small fire pit w/grill. The group camping area is ok also but it is in the open no tree cover and literally surrounded on one side by a small body of water containing several large Gators.

Nice trail, quiet area. Lots of shade.

Nice shady walk in the woods. with several colored trails you can walk for hours. the boardwalk is great. all flat ground and easily marked. although i saw nothing it was a quiet experience. no cars, no airports nearby and no trains around. on the way in saw many gators.

Good hike. Old Florida trail. Bugs werent bad either. Lots of wildlife.

This hidden gem is a must-see because it has so much wildlife and a beautiful lake in the middle of nowhere. Make sure you check out the nature preserve. the road to get there is unpaved so it looks like youre heading in the wrong direction however you will get there so dont give up.

Weirdly, we drove to this spot using Google Maps and could not find any trails or boardwalk. There were two nice lakes and a group camping area that we could not access because there was a locked gate. Maybe the trails were there?

The reason people cant find the trails is that theyre all closed even though both Google and their website say that the area is open. Please make it more clear that Fort Drum Marsh IS NOT OPEN

Went there because of the misleading pictures. When you get there the road its closed by a gate so you cant get further.

Boring dont waste your time...

Great place to unwind, unplug and take in nature. Walking and bird watching is fantastic and we are told certain times of the year the place really comes more alive...But it bums you out to see the ignorance of humanity when they just drop the trash like they have people to clean up after them...

Awesome. What a gorgeous place. The only thing is that we didnt know about the code of the gate, consequently, we have to walk 5 miles just to go to the Park. Otherwise we had a great time.

Used Google maps to find. No trails to be seen, only a locked gate with no entrance. Very disappointed. An hour drive time there and back for NOTHING.

Made pitstop on Floridas turnpike. Fast courteous service. Clean facilities.Appreciate reply from Ft. Drum. We actually stopped at Canoe Creek Plaza on the Turnpike. Assumed Ft. Drum name of the plaza.

Love it... Beware the map is not accurate to the trails.

I was passing by and it caught my attention. It looks like hidden gem... Ill know more when Im able to spend some time here.

I refer to this place as The Spot. Come here to look for gators. Sometimes the neighbor cows will have found an escape route and be on the opposite side of their fence. Lots of birds out there. The occasional boar or coyote. I have never stayed the night though. Nice place to come and take some pix maybe bring a picnic lunch with you.

Great place to camp and relax! We saw some pigs, deer, raccoons, alligators, and lots of birds.

Great rest stop lots of good food options and bathrooms are clean is a very safe location and they have ample parking for all cars, we usually stop here when we make our trips to miami and back to orlando area. i would recommend this stop area for other people

Its a marsh, nothing to see here except mosquitoes

Along with fuel the coffee is good & they have a Dennys restaurant

Has a gift and convenience shop. Restrooms. Dunkin donuts. Gas and such.

Beautiful area, lots of wildlife, and well maintained.

Basic toll plaza. Usual jacked up prices, tired and rude travelers. Sandwich shop worked well for us. After getting hit by what seemed to be a bucket of seagull poop, we sadly couldnt find the windshield washer station that other plazas have.

If you get out and see the natural areas and State Parks in this vicinity, you will see some of the best of Floridas wilderness and one of the last Florida savanna areas! Enjoy and relax in natural settings!

I enjoyed this area because it contains a mosaic of wetland and upland communities. The Wildlife viewing showed us diverse habitats that support Florida sandhill cranes, wood storks, bald eagles, deer, turkey. Also activities in this large area include hiking, picnicking, horseback riding, fishing. And I went bicycling. Great experience. I did also a boardwalk. It provided an opportunity to hike through a hardwood swamp to reach Hog Island for trails and outskirts.****

There is a Wendys and Dunkin donuts. Auntie Annes was closed. Villa Italian only had pizza. Half the menu was not available at natures tables. Very few food options at this location

Beautiful, quit natural setting. I havent put my kayak in out there yet but may do it soon. For you ingress players there are a few portals in the area.
