November kayaking on a mirror calm lake. Four volcano view. Egrets, herons, bald eagles, snow geese, sandhill cranes and white pelicans. Not bad for a winter paddle just 10 minute drive from downtown Vancouver!
Beautiful lake with gorgeous views of several Cascade mountains. The park is spacious and generally clean with lots of picnic tables and barbecues. Volleyball is set up right on the water, which is nice and there are a couple of easy, family friendly walking paths. The only draw back is that the lake itself seems to get closed every year, early in the season for high pollution levels
I always like to go to this park because its not always flooded with kids. Also therenis water and a sandy beach and trails. A little bit of everything all at one place. Theres covered areas to picnic or throw a party. All together my family and i have certainly made some moments there that will be memerable!!
What a great place to get out and enjoy nature! We saw two raccoons, an eagle and blue jays. We couldnt get the camera out fast enough to take a photo of the eagle, but we did get the two adorable raccoons. We spoke to a very nice man who was there feeding two wild cats that someone dumped at the park. He feeds them out of the kindness of his heart! Dont forget to pay for parking.
Much improved from the early 90s, this clean and well mainted park has beautiful paced lakeside trails as well as plety of open space to play. Picnic tables and restrooms make it a great day place for a picnic outing!
We had a great time. The trails are really well maintained and there are a lot of places to go. You can be at the beach or on the playground. There are tons of picknic tables. I am excited to spend more time there in the future.
A very good place to relax from and for the runners there is a good place to get some miles in!
Great place to go chill with friends or family lot of space for social distancing
It looks like it got cleaned up quite a bit but there was no fish biting and there was like no people there literally we had the whole place to ourselves. I am sure that wont last long since up in the 80° now people are probably going to be swimming hand fishing. I just hope that the blue and green algae is gone and we can swim in here again.
We found two bbq charcoal grills with lots if picnic tables, a volleyball field, amazing view with lake front, and lots of clear space to lay a blanket and chill
Beautiful quiet morning. They do a good job keeping it clean.
Trust me, the lake is beautiful, amazing, we were so happy to see the lake from the road so we payed and got in....we were so excited, started driving towards it, we parked, unpack our stuff.....then we run towards the water and guess what? there was lots of pollution (toxic algae) on the water and DUCK poop all over the beach sand. Kids swimming like nothing happened everywhere. Whoever runs this park is very irresponsible and is waiting for a law suit to happen because any day, someone is going to get really sick. It rained the day before and the poop got in the water and you could see the people swimming around the duck poop. This is very dangerous and people can catch bacteria in there, specially kids. Very unsafe for kids and it was disgusting!! I am very surprise that it is open to the public.
Really nice park, beautiful lake. Would be good for group BBQ with family and friends.. Not a lot of bike area, you have to leave the park for a longer trail.
A magnificent park along the Columbia River. It could yse more shady trees and a longer bike pathway. $3 parking fee, cash or card.
Great views all around the lake. On the west side of the lake your can even see views of Mount Hood and Mount Rainier. $3 for parking, but there seems to be quite a bit of it available. There is even an overflow lot of the busy days.Came on 4th of July around 11 and found parking right away. As we were leaving around 1p, the lots were full and they were directing people to the overflow
Water is running a little low due to no rainfall. Rafting is a litte harder with low water levels. Tend to get stuck in the rocks...lol still fun.
Extremely beautiful great placebplace for swimming, hanging out, BBQ pits and events!!! Just remember until you get to the sand watch out for duck and dog poop, and mind the under tow in the water!!!
Nice well maintained Columbia River park with scenic views
We loved the beach here and this beach is KID Friendly !They have BBQ pits and lots of playground areaThey have majestic views of the St Helens and Mt HoodBring a beach canopy/tent and you can spend the whole day here .There is $3 parking fee and that is for whole day
Nice. The only think there is only one bathroom open.
Great spot not far outside Portland and downtown Vancouver. Nice park on a large lake. The lake is perfect for all kinds of activities including rowing regattas, sailing small boats and even practicing open water swims. Ive trained here a lot for triathlons, the whole area is great for swimming, running and cycling. The park is well kept with large bathroom facilities and pavilions for large groups.
They dont accept Wdfw access pass, discover pass or national parks pass. Last time I checked this park is in Washington state, decent park but toxic algae prevents swimming
Very large beach area for sunbathing and children and grass area with plenty of shade trees for BBQing or playing ball or just launching with friends. Theres 2 volleyball nets on the beach and theres lots of canoeing and swimming. So much fun for a leasure and relaxing day. Oh and super pet friendly.
Big lake with sandy shore and volleyball courts. We SUPd around the island in about 2 hours with 10mph wind, and saw a few egrets. We scootered, in-line skated, and eSkated on the super smooth asphalt trail...this was the highest quality blacktop surface in this area of washington. Not a 5 star, because of the potential algae health concern when swimming, but was only $3 for access to this county park.
Even on a busy hot day my family and I were able to find parking.
What a beautiful park. Enjoyed a lovely walk along the water and the talking trail. Wish I had pictures to share!
I like that its large and diverse. You can get away from people.
Nice area for open water swimming. Good bike paths nearby.
Pay to park. Restrooms locked up .......
Beautiful, clean, and well managed.
This is such a wonderful park. I love to come here all year around but Fall is always my favorite time because the trees here are all so colorful. The walking trails are all paved and easy to get around on and the entire park is kept clean and beautiful. Good place for a large or small bbq picnic or a cool dio in the lake in the summer as well.
Soggy but still nice here
Wonderful place for relaxation and recreation
The new North Trail is great, offering a shaded walk in nature and tons of birdsong. Would recommend it!
Very pretty place to relaxe.
I have participated in many of the USROWING Youth Regionals here in May. The parking passes cost $3 per day, at least during the event. There is plenty of grass for lawn activities and a sandy shore for beach days. I would come here for paddleboarding/kayaking/other water sports. The bathrooms are generally clean. I saw wild rabbits here the other day, as well as a couple frogs :}
Its a nice park and the lake is great for crew events. A lot of crew teams from all over the Northwest.
Nice family park. Gets busy but lots of space.
I had so much fun! The park is clean and well kept providing space for lots of patrons. Parking was very easy even though it was mothers day. We took our kayaks out in the lake and couldnt believe how peaceful it was.
Its quite beautiful and calm when there arent a lot of people around
Great time every visit, but make sure you check for any events going on(there was some water sport event and place was packed). We ended up walking the trails instead, but still was a wonderful time. No trash on the trails.
Great place to go and hang out in the summer. Not that crowded in the winter.
It was beautiful and neat! Look forward to going there this summer.
The park and facility is nice. Good parking. However this lake is shut down often by blue green algie. This is b/c its warm, b/c its shallow, because they dont allow small electric motors which could stir up silt so it flows out. Bad policy that wrecks something great.
Such a beautiful park but you never know what condition the lake is in. It would be epic if they put in a water pipe/fountain type water park in so kids and adults can play and not get covered in bacteria. Also sand for volleyball courts. They could really get this park built up more
Way too crowded and ppl smoking everywhere. The park and the views are nice but theres no one enforcing the no smoking rules.
Its clean! There is plenty of parking, and bathrooms
Beautiful day for a walk
This is a very nice parks with views of Oregon to the south and east. Also very nice waters for the regatta here.
I had an awesome 4th of July in my first visit thats why we WENT back this Saturday,
Popular. But, for good reason
Love this gem of a hike by Vancouver Lake! Enjoy the North Trail and listen for the owl!
Pleasant; as were all the people that we met on the path.
It is beautiful
I absolutely love this beach feel of a lake. It totally makes you feel like youre at a beach when youre just at the lake and its kid friendly who could ever pass that up.
Very nice park just wish they just had more bath rooms. Lots of room and play areas
Well maintained bathrooms! There is an entry fee but is extremely affordable for such a wonder place to come be outside!
Always love this area for laid-back swimming and playing in the sand.
Makes me happy to live in the PNW
It was nice and clean. Beautiful place to spend quality time with family or friends. We had a great time here.
The water fowl is amazing and the eagles are flying too
One of the best parks around Vancouver Washington
Very nice place to go to be able to just hang out with the family and get around, they have shelters to rent if you want to bbq, parks for kids to play, the lake of course, and lots of trails to just go adventuring.
My kid love this place
Great place to walk, enjoy water sports, picnic, walk a beach
3 dollars fee you dont see that in Oregon clean safe large parking easy access to bathrooms and charcoal disposal
Great place to spend the afternoon or to host an event! I come here at least once a year for the USRowing Regional Youth Championships, and weve never had a problem with available space.
2 volleyball court beautiful view of Mount Hood great place to enjoy a picnic walk on the beach cannot swim do to dangerous algae leak is closed for swimming but you can bring your kayak or canoe
Nice place to visit
Great place for a picnic and let the kids run
I love the lake for paddleboarding. Peaceful quick getaway close to Vancouver Wa.
A absolutely breathtaking park with a small beach and lake for swimming, boating and floating. There is a trail that curves around the north part of the lake as well as picnic chelters and large bathrooms rsuitable for changing into swimwear. This is one of my favorite spots in Vancouver. A great park!!!
Great place to have Alder Creek Water Sports annual weekend kayak/canoe/SUP event! Great access, a fun place to go.
Beautiful park, will definitely be back here during the summer months
A rather Big Lake up in Washington buy Vancouver and has a large grassy area A beach for playing beach volleyball or just hanging out.
Wonderful place to walk of bike with kids.
Awesome spot for a family/friend get together. Charcoal bbqs, concrete patio space and tables, and volleyball!
Few people and cars - a wildlife refugee and a landing exchange for migrating geese. Walking trail is very well paved and connecting intra-parks
I like it out here... did 5k last year and the 10k Twilight race this year. Beautiful views.
This is an awesome place to visit during the summer. The water is warm and its not to crowded. We visit frequently during the summer. They are also dog friendly in most areas but some parts say no dogs. Also 4 stars because they have a harmful algae that was spotted that is harmful to pets so keep a look out for the posted signs
This is a great lake for swimming, kayaking not too good of a fishing area But it has soft sand and tons of space. You have to pay to park $3 for cars, $6 for cars with trailers
Lunchs here are my go too
Great park wish the were was no entry fee at all the local parks.
My brother and I have begun to enjoy flying our drones at Vancouver Lake. There is an admission fee to enter this fine recreational use area. There are shelters available, though some are reserved for family or other groups. All in all, a good place to spend the day.
Regional rowing regatta is a fun and friendly event for recreational and super strong rowers alike.
Great place for families
