Really nice museum. Took my niece and her fiance ( from Indiana). Had a great time
The Pearson Air Museum is part of the Vancouver National Historic Reserve District. The District was built in 1824 to the early 1900s and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. This Museum is Awesome!!
Very small, only a handful of planes, but is free and in nice area to walk the dog.
This place has some amazing facts...check it out
Not large by any means but they have some very nice historical aircraft including some WWI fighters. Also, this place can be used as a venue for functions. I was just there for a company party and there was plenty of space and the temperature (during the winter) in the hanger was just right. I dont know the pricing but it was a great venue.
Always good to see the past and a great place to play Pokemon.
This museum has real planes as well as dioramas of aviation history in the Washington area. It is organized and impressive in what they portray. Being on the Fort Vancouver Historical site means it can be the first of multiple locations to immerse in.
Cool little museum! And its free! (but please donate) This place looks brand new and the exhibits are very well put together, with a load of history on the fort & surrounding area. A few beautifully restored planes and old military artifacts are on display. The huge scale model of the early fort was really interesting as well. Worth a stop!
Its decent. Not a lot to offer as far as museums go. The hangar makes a good event space.
My dad and I are both disabled but we love to go on outings. He is an old plane buff as well. After touring Fort Vancouver we went straight to the Pearson Air Museum. The air field is very active so you get the added fun of small planes taking off by the museum. The museum is indoors and very disability friendly. We stayed about an hour and had a great time. The docents are friendly and helpful. Most of the planes are very old-a real history of flight. Who knew Lucky Lindy came out to Vancouver to visit his sister!
Showing our son at early age this place was really helpful. Now he has a dream to be a pilot. We are a happy to have this museum in our area. So many vintage planes, a lot of information inside. The place is free to enter, but you still can donate. We were happy to do that and have plans o come back here one year after.
Great displays that have been built and I love the great replicas. Had a great talk with a builder and they had great interaction with the kids.
Great historical museum in an airplane hangar and building with interactive displays for the kids, real air planes and engines for the much bigger kids and plenty of history throughout. Even better its free but leaving a donation will help them keep this place running.
This museum is a small little gem. They dont have that many planes on view but if you get there when a volunteer docent is there, they are very knowledgeable and can answer almost any question. The docent that I met was a veteran who knew so much about the Vancouver aviation history. There are a lot of stations that have to be read. It begins with the history of flight at this very field in the early 1900s. Even women were pilots & there is a section dedicated to these early femmes if the sky. The history continues through world war 1 and world war II and the importance of the building that was done at the adjacent fort. Men, as well as women, worked around the clock in order to supply the Pacific Theater with the necessary planes. There is ample parking for free.If you are a history buff and interested in how aviation, in particular, won 2 wars, visit
Ft. Vancouver is a great place to walk and see some local history when the weather is nice.
This is an absolutely awesome place. I learned so much about local history as well as planes that flew in the war.
Free entrance, donation box present. A small museum packed with many vintage planes. Great for history buffs who want to read the displays as well as kids to look and walk through. Plus an educational area for children to launch paratroopers.
Awesome place to bring the fam
Very interesting Aviation Musem in Vancouver today. Saw a restored WWI Jennie one of the planes very similar to what the Wright Brothers flue when making their first flight and a plane very similar to the one flown by the Red Germany.!Very interesting exhibit!
Free educational flight museum. Lots of cool stuff for all ages.
Great event venue. The could use portable air-conditioning. Staff was extremely helpful.
My daughters wedding reception was held at this beautiful venue and its was AMAZING! This venue is wonderful because of its size and versatility but also because its a lovely blank canvas that can be turned into what ever you are wanting to achieve.
Nice place to visit
A great little museum with cool planes!
Love learning about aeronautical history here. Its also fun to walk around and take in the history of the grounds and surrounding areas.
Fun place. It has a few interactive exhibits and the air display is beautiful. It was fun exploring the old buildings and there is a very nice picnic area. Save some money to spend at the shop too. Cool things for sale.
Our family enjoys this museum. Great displays of airplanes and the history of Vancouver. They have a room to play a video but its never been on when we have gone. Its a great FREE museum. Free parking and clean bathrooms. The staff is friendly too.
Great tour guide and some beautiful planes, loved the visit there.
Really neat museum for the whole family. Worth the stop
It was good. Lot of information on 1st World War. The ranger was very helpful and taking initiative to explain.
Great tiny museum with great volunteers
Great museum, very educational, we want more!Very helpful staff, rangers, volenteers, lots of yelling kids, so bring your patience!
Learning how planes actually are/were controlled and the history behind the WASP is probably the best part in my opinion.
Fun free history site with knowledgeable staff and lots of information!
Very nice. Antique planes. Russian exhibition. Children activities. Free
Nice museum. Tells you a lot about the history of the fort as well as about the beginnings of aircrafts at all. They also show old aircrafts.
It was a great stop, take a walk around and see what vanvouver did. I wouldnt make a special stop of it but, if your in the area its fun to look around.
A wonderful place for the whole family to visit and it is right next to Fort Vancouver!
Small but very informative and interesting.
Great place for weekend with a family. Kids enjoyed so much. Stuff is also very nice.
Very helpful staff. So thankful it is run by the national parks and thus it is free.
My grandson loved our visit there over Spring break!!
Lots of old History there ! Very kid friendly!
Very informative, great staff, good hours,FREE,great poke stop and gyms.
Really nice place to learn about airplanes.
Great airplane museum, small but fascinating. And a great place for riding a bike and a picnic!
A museum is difficult to rate accurately because what is the comparison related for judgemet not as a slight but as a esteemed colleague applying constructive criticisms founded on mutual accelerated improvements driven by competion? If we used the Smithsonian institution as our benchmark Institutional museum. Then in the known world or slightly fantastic perhaps; NO ONE COULD COMPARE!Save maybe ancient Alexandria only could critique. This being the case we must resign Pearson to its own merits and character and see this for what it is. A unique but highly valuable museum and location deserving and owning to proper esteem imparted by historic rarety and Intrinsic worth. What a mouthful, right...ugh. So, for this little museum is it in its own right is a smaller but informed repository of historically accurate local relative items. For the sake of these objects the value of an NPO cant be understated. To support this museum is a worthy cause and effort and you can not go wrong with your patronage. Leave a donation and depending on your level of interest plan on about an hour before the children are ready for something else and tour with a smile. We enjoyed it thoroughly and cant NOT, NOT recommend it. For the value of the money spent, (donation discretionary) how can you possibly loose? Great place to visit, Enjoy.
Small and friendly air museum showing early aircraft and boards explaining their context in world wars. Its free so if you are nearby, certainly stop by and check it out.
Five stars, if you are into aviation history. Pearson Air Field and its Museum are attached to the NPS with the neighboring Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. It is a small (free) museum concerning the aviation history of the adjacent Pearson Air Field involving the Pacific coast as well as the local Vancouver, WA/Portland, OR area. There is a variety of historical planes on display inside the museum. The history of flight is also displayed.Pearson Air Field is well worth a visit if you are interested in early aviation history or that of the Pacific Northwest. A visit here is easily combinable with the nearby Fort Vancouver National Historic Site for an afternoon of additional discovery.
Great exhibits about the advent of flight. Starting with the wright brothers and through the early technological innovations. Rangers and docent guide you through but you can explore on your own as well. Ignore all the one star reviews. Those have nothing to do with the exhibits here now.
Awesome free exhibit. Not a lot too see, you can get in and out in 30mins.
This small museum has several important items including a DH4 and a Liberty engine, and a scale model of the Spuce Division cut up plant. My review focuses on the latter. Pearson Airfield is the former site of the cut up plant. The mill played an important role during WW1 and supplied Sitka Spuce to allied contries in Europe. The words Sitka Spuce should get the attention of anyone interested in early 20th century aircraft. The timber industry of course played an enormous role in defining the Pacific NW. If you have an interesed in the latter I recommend a stop at the Oregon Rail Herritage Center. They have a small display that complements this museum. It explains the rail network that was built.
The Government Museum and Art Gallery is one of the most visit places. The building is beautifully designed and the art collection on display is also very good with a wide variety of artists and styles displayed.
This museum is located at Fort Vancouver National Park. There are numerous planes exhibited here, some suspended in the air others on the floor. It goes back to the golden age of aviation, when the Germans lead aviation, and moves forward during the first world war when America began building planes here using Alaska spruce.
A great place to see some planes with the family!
Kind of cool, glad we went
Great place for aviation fans. Pearson Field is one of the oldest still operating airfields in the US. Admission is free and the staff is super friendly. They are very happy to tell you more about this place.
This use to be a city landmark, Now its an empty shell. Very sad to see this happen to such a great and important place. If you want a true experience in learning about aviation thats in the spirit of what the museum use to be. Check out the Pearson Field Education Center just 2 blocks down from the old museum.
Friendly staff, informative exhibits, and great displays. Small but well organized.
This place is amazing to see the evolution of aviation
Informative slice of obscure history
Nice, clean and quiet museum right by a great park
Amazing experience. My grandparents and I learned a lot. I am glad like places like this exist.
Its small, but thats ok. Good to take, kids because you will easily see it all. Very simple and, easy introduction of aviation and aviation history to children. Theres some hands on elements that I know the kids like. And afterwards you can,go across the street to a nice and large park.

The Pearson Air Museum, managed by the National Park Service as part of the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, is a great little museum. It has many different exhibits which share information about the history of flight, and the history of the site.
