Great place. Wide open. Miles of trails to walk or run even during a pandemic. Social distance. Lots of places to have a picnic. When safe again, great place place for an outdoor concert (after the pandemic) on the hillside where you can bring a blanket, listen to music and see a sunset. When the weather is nice if you play the guitar .. you could have your own open space to play for your spouse and/or family. Oh ... good news there is an out garden size train layout. The local garden train club has a display at Sunset Hill county park (used to be at the previous Samuelson Nursey over on Route 2 east of town .. then the nursery closed). Train layout ++ Families, children, train enthusiasts will love it. During pandemic times be safe, go for a walk, go to these lovely parks to enjoy peace of mind and also exercise.
Ran the Run your Turkey off Race on Saturday morning November 28, 2020.Sunset Hill Farm is a very relaxing family oriented place to visit. Very positive place, thanks for all the work you do Sunset Hill Farm!
Ive rented the Amphitheatre out for a private event I hosted this past October. Might I say that Sunset Hill Farm and their staff have done above and beyond for me what I expected. Whether you love music, antique farm equipment, or just simply a peace of mind, theres a plethora of other activities available at Sunset. I personally love this place with all of my heart.
Love living around the corner from here. Halloween was fun here on the haunted hay ride. My sons had a blastAppreciate all the effort they went through to decorate and make it an easy and fun evening
Beautiful county Park with rolling hills, prairie views, woods, wide grass trails and ponds. Very family friendly with cute playgrounds and farm animals. Pet-friendly hiking. Quiet, peaceful, and a great place for easy to moderate hiking. Beautifully maintained. Highly recommend.
Wooded trails, Prarie trails, paved trails, sand trails, and grass trails. This place has them all! Nicest restroom facility I have seen at any park!
Great place to go hiking with your kids! Beautiful paths, and they are pretty easy.
Very beautiful! Gently rolling grasslands. Several groups of HS cross country runners were practicing.
Very nice park. Walking trails are fairly easy. You can walk among the barnyard animals. I was not there when the interpretive center was open, but it was a good visit.
Peaceful place for an after dinner walk or to show some young kids how a farm works.
My first and only time going here was for the Hot Air Balloon Fest. So this review will be a half and half review. The park is nice and from what I seen they have a camping are as well. Its very spacious and has plenty of room to go discover different areas. The Hot Air Balloon fest was a horribly ran and Im not sure I would visit it again. I would however check out the park and look into the camping there.
Love the Halloween hay ride and the Christmas display every year
Great park with lots of open space. Loved the animals and old farm equipment. Reminded me of visiting my grandparents farm but withouthtiut the chores.
They have done so much improvement to the park over the years. Its such a gem to our community.
Such great farm atmosphere. Nice people working there.
The park contain trails which are combination of dirt and grass. There a few camp sites available if you are interested in that. They also have some animals that reside in the barn near the main park lot. During Christmas time they set up a light display that you can experience my driving around the park in your vehicle.
A nice park to go to plenty of space a old farm camping space a play ground well maintained
It has amazing art classes and amazing wildlife and camps. It also has a small park for little kids.
Attended hayride. Most people wore masks, but not all the right way. No chance to really social distance.
Hiking running trails, animal farm, great place to gather your thought.
Awesome trails. Just beautiful for a walk/hike with all the native flowers starting to bloom.
This is a Porter County Park now.Great parking and facilities. They do allow dogs. A very family orientate and safe place. The only challenge was the lack of signs for everything and seating is slim. Also byo water and soft beverage. Drinking water pretty hard to get to on Santas day of arrival.Very good Santa. To keep feet and shoes dry, dont wear business shoes and sandals.
Pretty hot air balloons, amazing food, good service, friendly staff the only downside was the access was a bit slow other than that everything was perfect and we had a good time
Great place. Plenty of room to roam.
Called before going to make sure they had horses and was told they did. Took the hour drive there only to find 0 horses. There was a couple goats, a sheep, bunnies, chickens. Nice place but hardly any farm animals which was disappointing since that was our main reason for visiting.
Beautiful!! Great trails to walk, run. Awesome run groups, great parks department events. This place is a must see!
Love to take hikes here..and dog loves it too.
Beautiful park and they put on a great haunted hayride each year! Line is a bit long but there is concessions and music. We wil be going every year. They also do a Christmas light drive through around Christmas time. It is free bit you can always leave a donation.
Great place, fun park. Love the arts program.
Beautiful park with wooded trails. A great place for small music festivals and family events. Dont forget to check out the Holiday Light display every winter.
Such an excellent county park with so many festivals going on and also a great place to hike when you need to get away. The animals are always enjoyable to see too but resist the urge and dint feed their cute faces!
This is a large county park in NWI that offers a variety of venues and events throughout the year. They have a summer day camp yearly. There are so many events offered throughout the year. Just to name a few; in early fall it hosts Northern Indiana historical power association which features steam tractors and have many demonstrations how they used these to cut timber, etc.. At the Christmas holiday season they have a beautiful display of lights that you will definitely want to take your children to see. This winter wonderland show starts the first weekend of December and goes until New Years Eve. All in all, my husband and I just love coming here as much as possible. We took our then 1 year old grandson last year to the Christmas lights and he was in awe. I cant wait to take him this year now that he can talk.
I love the kids’ painting classes!
Love coming here to meet the animals and ride the tractor.
They feature hot air balloon rides, music & food trucks. The property has a carnival atmosphere. The balloon rides are down scaled to a try out phase. Meaning it lifts only about 100 ft or so and are tethered, so youre not actually flying away. Would be a great option for anyone whose been curious about balloon riding.
Nice family safe walking trails and playground. Not very scenic, but good for events and gatherings.
Took grandson to see the farm animals and sit on old tractors
Super friendly.
Very beautiful park
Had a nice time with the family.
Lots of height variance and shade on some walking/running trails.
The food was delicious. Especially the Panini truck. The prices were cheaper than the fair. The balloons were beautiful! I loved going up in the balloon!
Big park. Balloon ride was an experience. Must stop by at Christmas time, they have a nice light spread.
They have the festival of lights going on right now. Great place to take the little ones to see all the light displays!
Beautiful trails to run or walk!
Good place great Venue. Always something good going on easy web site. .
My little dog loves it and I believe it is a very Beautiful park with many diverse areas
I love this park. It is so beautiful especially in the fall. They have a petting zoo with duck, chickens, goats, horses, rabbits, etc. that is open to the public all the time. My children love to go look at the animals and play at the playground they have there.
I love walking with my pups there! I feel safe and there is always a breeze 5 stars
Walked about a mile with my dog. Also seen model trains and talked to staff about exhibit and how I could join the society. Stopped also to see the farm animals.
Nice little park. Great place for a cross country meet.
Nice, small outdoor music venue with lots of hiking trails.
Awesome place.
A very nice park to walk or hang out, there are many trails that you can choose from with lots of trees and shade, I have been running here for cross country for over 3 years strait and it is a very nice place that is constantly growing.
Off 700 there is group camping. And there is a shelter to rent. perfect place to bring a group and do some hiking and camping or walk your dog
Do not pay money to do the haunted wagon ride. We were beyond disappointed. We basically paid $50 to be rode around in a huge circle in a wagon. I believe they stoled our money
Very peaceful
Completely enjoyed the Spring Out to Sunset Festival. Very family friendly and lowkey!! A great day with the kids.
Great park thats well maintaned. Good for all ages.
Love this place along with the history
Went with my daughter for her field trip and we had some much fun learning stuff and getting to feed and spend time with all their great animals
The winter light show is spectacular. Its for adults and children alike. Sunset Hill has many different programs for our community to enjoy. Be sure to check them out.
I belong to the running club and just have to let everyone know that our leader, Dan Sturgell, is the greatest. He plans our runs and makes sure everyone feels welcome and he has rest stops planned so the group can get together again. No one is left behind. There are a lot of hills and flat areas and lots of shade on those hot summer days. Come and join us. Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 am and 8 am in the darker months.
Always clean, plenty of parking. Animals are a fun add for the littles.
Nice natural amphitheater for concert. Didnt experience other offerings.
Played here for Balloon Fest...with the Jerica Paliga Band! Great event!
Awesome outdoor place for fun events. Went to margaritaville night.
This is a very simple farm with limited animals, but perfect for small children. They also have musical instruments made out of pipes, boards and plastic barrels. There is a rustic teepee and long canoe for kids to sit in. My grandson really enjoyed seeing all their tractors too.
Very beautiful. Great walking trails.
Prarie magic was great and the music awesome, los lobos rocked
Theres sunsets and hills.
Still wet and muddy in a lot of low areas but with hiking boots on it was possible to get around. It is a shame the water puddles up with no where to drain! We love hiking here!
Gorgeous facility! Staff was wonderful and knowledgeable.
It. Was. Nice. And warm out have. We. Have. Fun
Oh my goodness! The Christmas light display was simply wonderful. All they charge is a donation per your discretion in a box at the end of the drive-thru tour. My 1.5 year old was in awe, and my husband and I were quite impressed! This will definitely be a yearly tradition for us.
They have a really fun haunTed hay ride. The lines were really long. In the summer, I think that theres fun kid things to do
We went to Sunset Hill Farm to see the Christmas lights. We loved them as always. We always have to go back through at least a second time.
Babapaloosa come on down and enjoy the fun
They have such a great outdoor space for picnics!
Such a great place! Went to a wedding it was such a sweet Atmosphere. Beautiful scenes
Really liked the Christmas light show
Super fun place to take the family
Come join Vale of Paradise garden club there on 1st Thursday of the month 9 am. Very nice clean park with kid friendly experiences always going on around there.
So much to do and enjoy! Farm animals, the community garden, lots of forested trails and history to this place. They allow animals, just make sure you keep them leashed. A great recreation zone for the whole family for all seasons!
Love this place!! Had a wonderful time
Great trails. Met a man checking his bluebird houses for baby birds. Called himself Mr. Bluebird. Our dog enjoyed the walk also.
The event was fun disorganized think the turn out was more than expected.
Plenty of playground equipment and picnic areas and open spaces for frisbee and baseball
I love everything about this place. The only thing that would make it better is a dog park.
Great place to disconnect a little bit and enjoy nature. Lots of room to play with kids and dogs. Definitely worth a visit during the winter to see all of the lights (free, too, but you can leave a donation).
This is a wonderful venue and I would rate it 5 Stars except for how poorly the trails are marked. If they would just point the way back to the farm or point the way to the campgrounds that would be a huge Improvement.
Only thing that was good there was a park for the kids
Ballon fest is a joke. Parking a nightmare. Traffic horrendous. Line for balloon ride - WITH PREPAID RESERVATIONS - over 2 hrs long.
A great place to bring the whole family. Lots of events throughout the year. I love going to all
