You can’t go to Twin Falls without seeing Shoshone Falls, aka “Niagara of the West.”There is a very cheap entrance fee to get into the park with the best viewpoints. It’s worth every penny.Shoshone Falls is beautiful from every angle. There’s not much else to say. If you’re lucky, you may even see a rainbow in the mist. The park itself is pretty nice and clean. Decent bathrooms and plenty of space to picnic if you want to.
There is a reason these falls are called Niagara Falls of the West. They are absolutely gorgeous and you don’t really expect the falls and canyons driving in the desert for hours. The bridge over the canyon is a tourist attraction in itself and you can even see base jumpers from time to time. If you’re deciding whether to stop at the observation deck at the entrance or go further down - go down. You’ll see a few waterfalls and the close up view is hard to beat.
Awesome view. We were here in the smallwater season. However, we liked it. They have observation point, green grass field with picnic table and few benches. Restroom is not the one you are gonna want to go to. Hundreds of annoying flies. Try to avoid. In addition, they have a kiosk with ice cream and different souvenirs. Next to it there is souvenir coin machine. What is great, cause my kids are collecting them. Well return someday!!
It has a nice view but the o picnic area is a bit small for a tourist attraction. This pictures where taken from two spots not far from each other, approximately 50 yards. Also all the memorabilia is imported from China. Would be nice to purchase items made by the Native American people, specially if is something that represents Native American people.
What a great place to visit. The waterfall is absolutely spectacular. If you hike up the trail to the west a little ways there are far less people and much better views of the falls. I highly recommend bringing a picnic and sitting in the grass field, eating you lunch, all while watching the waterfall. Beautiful place to visit and worth the $5 vehicle entry fee.
Great experience, even though the falls were not gushing. The vistas are incredible. Family and pet friendly park. Lots of cool trails and lookouts. From one vantage point, you can see where Evel Knievel tried to fly his steam powered rocket across the Snake River Canyon. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. If you have the opportunity, dont miss it!
The falls were impressive although slightly marred by the power plant and electric lines. $5 fee per vehicle for the day. A wonderful park with lawn and shade trees adjoins the scenic overlooks. Very popular place, so parking can be an issue. They have spaces for RV parking as well. The road in is narrow and winding and not in the best condition. There is a small shop offering Souvenirs and snacks. Ice cream very popular on a hot day. Extremely friendly staff. The park area is pet friendly, but pick up after your pet. It was worth the visit.
Absolutely beautiful!! The hike to Evil knievel jump was beautiful but be prepared for a few miles. It was probably 5 or 6 miles round trip.
A must visit in Twin falls. Be advised though, there is an entrance fee. However, once inside there is a parking lot, restrooms and a lot of signs/panels/information to learn the history of the dam and the area in general. The falls are much better looking, roaring and full of water in spring, so go there before summer if you can.
Easy to find. $5 entrance fee per vehicle. Rv parking. Several viewpoints. I would love it if there was a trail down to the water. There is a snack/gift shop. Get a squished penny here. Restrooms. Lots of green grass to picnic. Lots of parking.
Awesome place! Very photogenic & beautiful views of the waterfall! Great place to visit! Lovely place!
Love this area. Great place to get Scenic views and also spend some great family time together. The swimming area is gorgeous! Definitely making it a regular occurrence to go that way.
Ok, so make sure you go around May after the snow melt so you can see the western Niagara Falls or you will see a trickle line we did, but it was still beautiful!!! Go off trail a little you find caves! Ice Caves werent open yet, but looking forward to that as well. Right to the stairs of the falls you will find feather cactus, soft white feather looking flowers. Beautiful place no matter the time of year!
Great place to visit, I felt compelled to just say and watch the incredible scenery. You may need to wait for the perfect photo space to get that salty selfie but to the left of that perch is another great spot. Actually our best photo due to relaxed nature of it.Reminder just up the road is the famous Evil jump location, I had to see it and go look.
America the Beautiful gives you free entrance. This park does not have trails, you can just walk from the parking lot to the falls view point. The fall is gorgeous and the viewpoint it’s perfectly located to take the best pictures. There are picnic tables and restrooms. There is also a small vender but very expensive.
The grassy park nearby is a relaxing and breezy spot to stop to break up a roadtrip along highway 84. You cant swim near the waterfalls and a really cool scenic area nearby is apparently private property. Bummer. I like my parks a little more rugged with less rules️
Beautiful views but not too many vantage points. There are not a lot of trails to walk, though there is a nice green grass area for kids to play. The restrooms are porta potties which were pretty gross and the one binocular was quarter activated. There is a $5.00 per car fee to enter if you do not have a wilderness pass.
Its a lovely park with a good paved trail for hiking for the whole family. Its also good to biking if your into hill trails. It has a great view of a large waterfall and its best viewed in spring. If youre coming Twin Falls it definitely worth the trip! There is also a picnic area and bathrooms.
Well maintained gem of Twin Falls. Great place to come see a gorgeous waterfall, when the water is running. The overlook is sturdy and gives a great view. There is also spacious park for eating and relaxing. Our family enjoys going year after year.
Breathtaking views up and down the Snake River Canyon. The falls were turned off, but were still amazing!
Did not know it existed until recently. Impressive falls and relaxing park/picnic area surrounding it. Checked out the lake above it and it had a nice swim area. Will bring whole family back to spend the day!
Very beautiful!!!! You wouldnt even know it was there because the drive is pretty flat in this area. Thank goodness for the signs. Short drive from the interstate. $5 fee to enter the park with your vehicle. So worth it. The attendant said the water level was pretty low for this year but to me, it was still spectacular
The view is a treat regardless of the time of year. Whether Im the spring with the falls full and spilling over the rocks or in the winter when the dam has stopped the flow and the rocks are fully exposed. Well worth the side trip from the freeway or city.
Mini Niagara Falls? I think not!The beauty and majesty of these falls allow them to stand on their own. There are a lot of fires right now so the sky is hazy. Normally it would be a perfectly clear, see for miles around, kind of day.If you make it to Idaho it is a MUST SEE for certain!
BEAUTIFUL, a must stop. The canyon is such a surprise as all of a sudden this huge deep slash in the earth. The waterfall is spectacular. kind of in a out of way spot, road not great to it. $5.00 per car entry fee, worth it. it was not busy. If you like waterfalls, stop. Pass on the side trip to Dierks lake and the fall by the hydroplant.
Shoshone Falls Park is close to downtown Twin Falls and is worth visiting. Plenty of hiking, picnick areas and just spots to enjoy the wonderful scenery.
We went with our trailers, it was a little sketchy on the turns. Tight turns and little area for mistakes (driving). Beautiful views. Even though it is dry season; the falls were still beautiful. Also; for more corgi adventures follow @marleysmondays #traveling corgi
I LOVE Shoshone Falls, its MASSIVE! There is a $5 per car per day fee and you get the park inside too where you can swim or just relax on the grass, lots of shade. Its AWESOME!
We drove 200 miles out of our way for these waterfalls and it was worth it!! So beautiful!! And the park is a prefect place for a picnic or to just stretch your legs during a long road trip.
It is $5 per vehicle to get in. I recommend this spot as a great place to have a picnic and enjoy the views. Parking is a little limited, but there are public restrooms and plenty of grass and tables to spread out. The views are spectacular. Worth the side trip.
Very Beautiful waterfalls and very Beautiful scenery. It has the Niagara Falls Of The West.
The view is amazing there is a small trail nothing to big if you like water falls this is a nice little place.
First time visiting, despite being the off season for waterfalls it was still a spectacular sight! Pictures really dont do it justice!
GORGEOUS place!! Found it totally by accident. What views. Beyond clean. Just awesome in all ways.
Amazing waterfalls. Pretty big volume of falls. The park is also gorgeous. Good place for wedding and picnic. I took a snap here
Grandeous. Went in mid July and it was beautiful. There were quite a few people so we wore our face masks. The drive down to the falls was pretty and it just kept getting better. They have a kiosk up with signs telling the history that are definitely worth reading.
Do not go in October, dried out, no flow. It is still beautiful but not if you were looking for the water flow.
I loved it! It was very pretty and I was able to take so many nice pictures, great for family vacations and family pictures!
The biggest waterfall I have ever seen. They call it the Niagara of the West, and it delivers for the name! A must see place of Idaho.
This is the best $5 you can spend that I know of! Its a beautiful place...every part of it...you truly have to see it to get the real experience and understand that youre in a magical wonderland of nature!! Ive been twice now, and i know that anytime Im heading towards Twin Falls or that area, Ill always stop to see the falls
Breathtaking, clean and well maintained grounds! The rules at the lake have us Nevadans cracking up tho
Wow! Beautiful falls with historical background. Well worth your time to check it out when in the Twin Falls area. I wouldnt take a large RV down to the falls, we did it with a tow car.
Extremely low water levels at this time so dont go expecting to see the sheer mass of these falls. However, the park is beautiful and massive. Definitely worth taking some time to explore.
Amazing views. The waterfalls are breathtaking. This is a must do on your vacation.
Its just a little trip out the interstate and a great place for a picnic. Dont worry if your pulling a trailer, there a place to park and easy turn around.
One of the most beautiful places on earth. Stunning views. Costs $5.00 to get in. Parking is very limited. They have restrooms and a small souvenir refreshment stand there. Picturesque!!!
Absolutely stunning views. This was my very first visit to Nevada and to shoshone falls park. There is a place up to you can park for free and walk down to the falls or pay $5 to drive down the hill and park below. Theres a few small waterfalls on the way down that are pretty but the falls at the bottom are amazing. 3ft safety rails surround most of it with fencing making it much safer for those with smaller children. A large green grass area makes for the perfect area to let the littles run out some energy and enjoy a picnic lunch. Theres a small souvenir shop that sells ur typical trinkets n things. Info boards give you a glimpse into the history of the falls. The restrooms were busy (only about 4 stalls for women) but seemed well kept. Lots of trails for hiking and enjoying the great outdoors. Overall this was an amazing pit stop on a cross country adventure my son n I will always remember.
Beautiful spot to stop and enjoy the views. I visited in the morning and looking at the falls was a little struggle since that put me looking into the sun. The views are an easy walk that my elderly father could do without issue. I plan on returning near sunset to have the sun behind me. Worth the stop.
Beautiful and plentiful overlooks. Good space for RV parking.
Amazing, if you want to make it a day trip and pack a picnic and swimsuits go to the lake that is on the same road. You can jump off the little cliffs into the clear water. The falls were awe inspiring. Definately a must see.
I visited Shoshone Falls in Idaho yesterday, but was rather disappointed, it was as if they turned the water off? Not much water falling. Have seen this before and was so impressed by the falls. Maybe the covid had affected the amount of water that they are willing to let loose. However. I did NOT have to pay anything to get in. Limited parking for RVs, FYI
What a beautiful gem right in the middle of a city! These are known as the Niagara Falls of the West Coast. We went in August and there was plenty of water. There are small falls that lead to one large falls. The natural landscape is spectacular. The grounds are very well kept. We could have stayed there all day as the view and sound of the falls is therapeutic! There are a couple of trails that we didnt have time to do, but looked interesting. We got an extra treat, because there is a bridge on the road out of the city, called Perrine Bridge, that had base jumpers jumping off of. We found out later that this is one of the only bridges in the U.S. that one can legally jump off of. There is a viewing area beside the bridge where we got to enjoy the tricks and sights of the base jumpers.
This tourist attractions is so beautiful sorrounded by nature everywhere. Its a beautiful state park in Idaho. A fun place to take your family and friends.
Best place I have been to yet so beautiful worth to go see ️
This is a beautiful park. Its amazing how well the landscape hides this hidden gem. Expect a $5 entrance fee per car. The bathrooms are pretty rough, being neither cleaned nor maintained well.
What an amazing place! Views are amazing and the accessibility is great for all ages and mobility ranges. The road down is a bit on the narrow side. Thats not a big deal in most cases, but when a giant RV is coming up the hill while youre going down it can get a bit tricky.
The most beautiful waterfall I have ever seen! The view was breathtaking! There are bathrooms available and disabled access. The parking area is very close to the main area to view the waterfall.
Gorgeous park... the waterfalls are great and scenic.
Beautiful scenery.. used to be the place where my dad would go together his thoughts but now all I have is a memory. Rip dad
Such a beautiful place to visit! Except for the smoky sky due to the west coast fires. But really love the falls and the little hiking path. Will definitely come back to visit if possible!
Went in the off season and there was only about 10 other people there. They didnt even have someone charging the $5 fee we expected. Was such a nice stop on our road trip.
This was a place on our route for the drive to Yellowstone. We stayed in the city of the same name, and this place was just 25 minutes away from there. Two distinctive streams, or falls, of Snake River caused this, which lately became at least five falls. I heard that once we need see this in the monsoon, but could not make plans for that yet. There is an unfinished or abandoned bridge you can see on the other side, and there are lit of hot springs here and there.
AMAZING! Great views from many view points, great hikes, the Niagara falls of the west. Clean picnic area with clean restrooms. Lots of parking space. Must see!
Come see these amazing falls.. They are beautiful year round.. You can pay 5$ to drive a car down to the bottom parking lot or park up above and walk down a windy road that has no sidewalk.. Worth the 5$. There is a large grassy area to play, relax, have a picnic, anything.. Benches and bathrooms located by the falls. If you want to swim head up to Dierkes Lake located close to the entrance where you pay.. it has a diving board and board walk around the swimming hole.. Play area and beach as well. Lots to do and hiking trails as well.
A little underwhelmed by the falls at this time of year. The flow is very low because of the dam up river. The drive down to the park was pretty though. (I love the curves and switchbacks.)The observation point is small and crowds easily. Would not recommend during a pandemic as there were a lot of people not wearing masks and not social distancing.
Beautiful falls. Saw some mountain goats. Several great views of the falls.
The falls were almost entirely dry (October) but were impressive none the less. Spring time would be more ideal to visit if your travels align.
So beautiful! And fun to climb down to the dangerous hard to reach fenced off areas!
First time here and we like it, it is super cold for me, Im from North California.Falls had not much water running but still was beautiful....
Off the hook cool. Dont blink or youll miss it.Best time of year is early June or late May.
Its beautiful. Amazing views. The lake also has a really cute swimming area for kids with a floating dock and diving board.
The waterfalls were impressive. It definitely earns the name of Niagara of the West. It was $5 to park your car. There a a few overlooks to take photos of the falls, canyon, and river. There is a small gift shop and a number of benches and grassy areas to have a picnic.Overall it was a great place to visit when we passed through Twin Falls on our way to Yellowstone.
This place should have all 5 stars. The views are second to niagra falls. The waterfalls are beatiful. There are different areas to get slightly different views. All the views were awesome. My only problem and the only reason Im not giving this place 5 stars is because the parking is tremendously horrifically bad. There was a constant group of cars looking and waiting for parking. So if your coming bring pillows for your guests in your car. Also the bathrooms were not as clean as I expected. The lines for the bathroom was long for both male and female alike. So go potty before coming in.
Loved this place. A MUST STOP even if you are just passing through it is absolutely worth the detour. Only $5 per vehicle to get in, breathtaking majestic views. If you have more time, the lake is a fantastic spot to unwind, swim, jump off some rocks.
Shoshone falls park is a beautiful state park. It is one of my favorite places and I try to visit once a year. There are some wonderful views you can catch of the falls. If you are looking to sit down and picnic or hang out in the park it is great for that as well. The best time to go is when the water is really flowing, it is truly memorizing.
Do not go in October, it was almost dried out, very disappointed. Wasnt worth the drive.
Its $5. And you get access to a lake with swimming and fishing or a viewing area for the falls. They were both really cool. Im glad I made this stop. Lots of foliage and fresh fruit growing. I was not expecting that
Excellent day trip from Boise... Gorgeous and serene. The little animals (ground hogs?) were as much fun to watch as the falls.
I Love this park!! The high waterflow made todays visit amazing! Finding parking is the only issue when its busy.
Epic waterfall and a beautiful experience overall. The path to the overlooks are a must. Mid afternoon it created an amazing rainbow!
Beautiful views very great for selfies plus landscapes.
Easy parking and walk to view points. I just wish there was a way to see it from the bottom so you can truly grasp the scale of it. Absolutely beautiful.
Always a fun place to visit whether the water is running high or low. Whether its early in the morning early in the afternoon or early in the evening around Sunset. Always picturesque and impressive.
Great hike. Beautiful scenery. The dam was closed when we went. No great falls.
The falls can be spectacular depending on water flow. Dierkes lake has excellent swimming for the whole family. Nicely groomed park areas with picnic tables along with a gift shop. There is also a boat ramp! The cost is $5 per car.
Great view areas for taking pictures. Id bring a towel because the mist from the waterfall can get heavy at times. Parking was good even for vehicles pulling camping trailers. There was a lot of grass areas for relaxing and doing a picnic
I have been to Shoshone Falls in the summer and the water is full off sprays of beautiful falls with rainbows. But in the late winter I brought my sister from out of state to show this beauty and found .... no waterfall! Greatly disappointed. But now I know... winter is not the time to go ha
This is a very nice park with shady grassy areas. The cool mist of the falls was nice. There were many different viewpoints for pictures. It is easily for people with mobility challenges. $5 per car parking required (buses and RVs $20).
Enjoyed visiting the falls here. Id love to come back when there is more water in the spring.
Best waterfall I have seen to date as I seek them out to photograph. You will not be disappointed. I hear there are times when flow is little so check into times when flow is good (end of summer or fall may not be).
Beautiful waterfall! Definitely worthy of a visit and picnic lunch.
This place is amazing. A must see if you are in the area. I have to admit, I didnt know it existed until the day we went. We were driving a motorhome so we had to be careful around the winding roads but they are not very long at all and they have RV parking available. The falls were pretty big. You can read about the geology and the history of the dams and irrigation.
This area is stunningly beautiful. I could sit here all day and watch and listen to the falls. Its literally this beautiful area in the middle of farm fields. However, if it was good enough for evel kenevel than its good enough for me. Thankfully we live close to the falls and will be spending a lot of time there.
Well worth the$5 entrance fee.. Wow awesome beauty and power
Beautiful falls! Its worth the drive. Great place for a picnic and time spent with family.
