We stopped at Shoshone falls (beautiful) and figured we would check this out. We were glad we did. In August the water is warm. There is a cool diving board. Even though a sign says not to swim past the docks a bunch of people were swimming across to the rocks and jumping off the cliff. We joined in and it was a great time.
Fantastic swimming area and great to paddle board or kayak. There are lots of lifeguards and we saw people jumping off the tall rocks into the deeper water. The water is very clear and its kept up very nicely. Theres also a playground near the swimming area and tons of spots to picnic in the shade. Super impressed and definitely going back.
Amazing place. This is a great place to take your kids and play in the water. They have a small shallow area where kids can play in the water as well as the sand shore. They also have a constant life guard all around the area. If you dont want to be in the water, its alright. They also have a play ground with swings, slides, tunnel slides, etc.
Great for kayaking and fishing. Had a wonderful day catching fish today and enjoying nature. No motorized boats allowed that are trying to run you over is always a big bonus also. Time well spent.
Swimming in this pool like part of the river was the perfect temperature. My skin felt so soft for the next 24 hours. What magic is in the water? Definitely dont swim outside the pool since it is slightly upstream of the Shoshone Falls.
Been swimming and fishing here for 20 years. A ton of good family and fiends gatherings have taken place over the years. $25 season pass is a must buy because I come here so often.
Lots of hiking trails, rock climbing, and picnic areas. Fun place to kayak and swim. The views are amazing.
Around the corner from Shoshone Falls is this lovely little park that features a moderately difficult hiking path around the Lake. There are several side paths that should be taken, including one with a steep uphill climb that offers a great view of the Lake and park.Stairs on this path take one up a hill that also provides a nice view of surroundings. In addition to hiking, there are picnic and bathroom facilities.A terrific afternoon was enjoyed by all.
Great place to go swim or hike and the canyon.
Always a wonderful place to have a family outing. You can go on a hike,go for a swim,do some canoeing. Hike back to the hidden lake and do a bit of cliff diving and if you like to fish cast your line in chances are you might catch a fish.
Great time had by all for a day filled with exploration and Lake fun. Definitely worth the visit. Pavilion and barbeque with restrooms available.
We love this place. Its so beautiful and fun for all ages.
Too many people let their dogs jump in when theyre fishing. One: dont want to hook your dog. two: they scare off the fishies. This wont help any but the park and trails are nice lol
Beautiful area to visit, Lake is FREEZING!! Lol. But well worth the water fall views down below it. Would recommend at least once.
We often go fishing at Dierkes and the kids will swim and cliff jump there. Kayaking is also a fun activity there. Beware of goose poop.
$5 per car. This fee lets you also see the Shoshone falls. This little lake has everything you want as it offers large trees for shaded grassy areas, wading pools for the toddlers as well as a diving board and cliff jumping for the teens. Outside of the dock area you can kayak or paddleboard.
Taking the shark swimming. Had a lovely time, the grounds are always kept clean and nice. The restrooms are clean and when the snack bar is open its a great place to spend the day. That being said, bring a cooler and some sammiches and you could spend hours down here that fly by like minutes. Great swimming area, diving board, stable dock, plenty of places to walk, sit, and rest. Two large gazebo structures and small usable barbeques make this a great place for large gatherings and outings as well!
Loved this lake! It’s like a little getaway in the middle of nowhere. It has a wading pond, small rocks to jump off of, diving boards, areas to grill, and a playground for the kids.
Dierkes is a fun, family friendly place to swim, fish, kayak, cliff jump. Definitely a place to visit if youre from out of town and youre going to visit Shoshone Falls.
Fantastic, fun park! Lots of tables and shaded picnic areas, a shallow area for toddlers to play in with a cement barrier dividing it from the deeper part, a nice playground, clean restrooms, lots of shade trees, access food for canoeing or kayaking, and its in the same fee area as Shoshone falls. We absolutely loved it!
Great place to go swim, walk, jog, hike, cliff dive, fish, site see, and much more!! Has a nice trail that wraps around the lake a must hike, not too easy, not too hard, its worth it though!
Shoshone falls next the Dierkes lake. The lake is a great place to spend the day swimming with the family. Lots of grass and shade. Shallow area for the younger ones and diving board and swim platform also.
The kids can cliff dive, parents can picnic, people can fish, folks can hike, a nice outside arena for all to play.
Nice place to cool off. Kids had a lot of fun. Deep!
Lots of fun. Nice place to picnic. Cool off. Take a dip. Bonus. Go see Shoshone falls included in the $5 entrance fee.
Cool place. Great place to swim. Playground and picnic tables.
Fun place to go. Its fun for the whole family. The price is pretty good as you pay by the carload
Great for kids! Sat on a blanket and read. More like a community lake swimming pool. Well maintained though!
The park was more than I expected it to be and a place that you and your kids of all ages can definitely have some fun!
Great setup for kids of all ages. My whole family had a blast! (Ages 4,7,9,11)
Super fun park with great water activities!Beware though, if you have any floating devices, rigid or inflatable, on the water.Police showed up giving out tickets for hundreds of dollars per person to anyone without a sticker for invasive species, a coastguard approved life jacket, a noise making device such as a wistle, etc. (While they are enforcing the law and somewhat well intended, the whole thing was quite slimy, since these are very expensive tickets and not warnings.) There are no signs and its fairly unrealistic to expect everyone to think they would they would need all this stuff for a $50 inflatable from Amazon. Just a word of warning. Live and learn.
Nice to fish this time of year very quite during the week, hike, fish, beautiful place
I love how green and clean is the water!! Definitely come again
Pretty cool stop on the way to shoshone falls.
Really fun place to go with friends and family and enjoy a nice day of swimming, laying in the sun or shade and having a picnic. Also has a playground for kiddos.
Great swimming for all ages. Also small cliff diving
Great place to spend afternoon or all day, swimming, cliff jumping and places to picnic in the shade.
Great swimming beach, clear cool water, spring fed, not Snake River murky
Great place to go to get out and very close to home! I love dierkes
Love going here with the family. Great trails, fun and productive little fishery, and its close enough to town that coffee, food, etc are just a few minutes away.
Fun place to take your family. The Largemouth Bass fishing, Bluegill fishing, and trout fishing is amazing for bass id recommend taking a boat
Pretty! swimming and great views
Very nice place to spend time with the family.
Nice for a little getaway from the heat.
The whole area is a great place to hike, Id definitely recommend it
A good place to picnic and swimming. Well come back next time.
Great swim area and small boat recreation. Inside Shoshone Falls State Park - $5 per car.
Dierkes Lake has change for the better. Nicer Park and better control in the Water Area.
Beautiful place to go with family.
Great place to relax and have fun in the water. The only thumbs down is the bad smell of the restrooms.
If you want a great place to have fun, go enjoy this absolutely fabulous park!
I have only been here twice, but Ive had a blast both times. Its a great place to take friends and family for a good swim or cliff jump. There is even a place for little kids to play by a manmade beach. As for the cliff jumping, it is so fun and I recommend you try it if you go. The people there are friendly and could help you with other questions you may have about what to do or what not to do when cliff jumping.
Cool place to swim at rocks and a diving board to jump off of
Its beautiful, but would like too see workers to clean up after the geese its gross too sit down on the ground next too poop...
Great place to tke your kids swimming and get them close to nature at the same tne. Very scenic.
Very pretty, a very nice place
The fish are to DAMN fast
Nice protected swimming area.
We loved this lake! There were so many things for kids to do here. They have a diving board and a shallow section for younger kids. It’s also a fun spot for kayaking or SUP. The full grown trees provide shade on the grassy beach and there are a few tables.
This is a nice little place and we loved it. It was quite and there was nice breeze on the water on the day we visited. Theres good altitude making it more cool. Its gearing up for closure in winter and the restrooms were closed. Its always our plan to visit right before winter to avoid crowds.
Great place for family activity
Very beautiful to walk around here. The trails are fun to walk or run. A few ponds you can swim in and jump off the cliffs. Relaxing here.
Superb and unique. Ill fight you for a spot here
Beautiful setting place to relax and swim.
Fun place. No dogs allowed though.
Great fun at this lake lots to do snack bar playground water
Lovely park. Great swimming area.
A hidden gem. Beautiful picnic and swimming area.
I wish Id had my kids with me; that looks like a great place to have fun and swim. I just took a walk around the lake, part way, but its beautiful
A really nice place to visit
Just like when I was a kid 30 years ago! Water is down @ Hidden Lakes but the improvements they have made in the last 15 years or so make it a great family place. One of the reasons I consider Idaho home!!!! (and great!)
Great place to have a little fun with nature...
Dont even allow dogs and the woman down there was on a power Trip or something about my friends puppy. Was very annoyed so we went to Shoshone falls park instead
No vehicles are allowed past the old ticket booth. Its about a 3/4 mile walk from there to the lake. Dress warm. The lake is frozen over so the fishing is great.
Nice shot trail, great views
Nice little lake outside of Twin Falls. Makes a great day for swimming and cliff jumping. The rock climbing and bouldering is also excellent here. Nice little play to visit as a family. The grounds are maintained by the City of Twin Falls and they do a nice job. Only reason I give it four stars is the lack of cleanliness with the geese issue. Other then that, 5/5.
So much animal droppings along walkwalys, sidewalks, docks. Definitely wear shoes, enjoy this beautiful chunk of earth.
Kinda dirty but still an amazing place
I lived in Twin Falls, ID from age 2-13. Dierkes Lake is one of many activities youll all enjoy experience in the town. Raising a family here is Awesome in Twin Falls.
Love love this place
Great quick hike! Lots of variety in the terrain with beautiful views. Easily done with in an hour at moderate speed.
Fantastic lake swimming. Friendly attentive lifeguards.
Such a nice area for our family reunion. We were entertained all day. Nice open space, clean water (early August), we took our paddle board & large floaties, easy access and it was right next to the falls. My suggestions for improvement;allow dogs, not in the water, but at the park & maybe allow alcohol & install an air pump.
Its a very nice little Lake towards the afternoon it gets pretty crowded but plenty of room for fish have picnics no alcohol is allowed. They catch trout in the lake there are some I suppose some three Pounders in there but most of them are about 8 in Long maybe a footlong
Clean! Geese are gone! Great place for the kids!
Amazing place to take kids
Great place for the whole family
What an awesome hike! Incredible formations and topography!
After seeing Shoshone Falls we relaxed in the shade at Dierkes Lake. Lifeguards on duty, restrooms and concessions stand.
Beautiful fresh water swimming lake with hiking, climbing, kayaking & SCUBA diving opportunities all around. It is gorgeous!
Beautiful views and nice rustic trails
Its an awesome place to spend the day.
Certainly worth a stop if you are in the area, there is a snack shack with the common ammentities typically found at such a place. This park is located on the southern edge of Dierkies Lake, there is a shallow kind of zone more for kids and past that is the lake that I would say is fairly deep indeed. This lake is fed only by natural springs now and used to be an orchard decades ago. Has public restrooms, with changing stalls, playground equipment, and beyond the initial entrance there is a hiking trail that leads to another little lake are with rocks to jump off. There is also further on, a set of stairs that will take you to the north side of the lake. Definitely check it out!
Very fun place for a picnic etc, but dont expect it to be quiet in the summer after noon. Tons of rowdy college students and Hispanics start pouring in and its hard to enjoy the tranquil waters. Great for paddle boats swimming, fishing etc.
